I was waiting for your reaction to this. I’ve been smiling so much ever since Friday, when it dropped, that my face actually hurts. With my love for jazz, and Taehyung as my bias, I can honestly say “I’m in Heaven” and can’t wait for more. I feel like Lady Gaga will be calling any day now to collab. I’m a 73 year old ARMY (since 2019) and have known for some time that V’s voice is so well-suited for this genre. Irving Berlin is smiling from his grave. And, yes, V can skat. The whole vibe is delicious!
So beautifully said *sandpiper* and this baritone pitch, the atmosphere and relaxed feel to the entire performance I believe, is so much what Taehyung is about. 💯agree with all you said sandpiper. V is my bias also & I would go to Vegas or anywhere to see him perform live. I heard he was influenced by his grandparents love of music from the 40's & 50's, so I'm hoping his album will have some oldies also. V will continue to have a successful career whenever BTS decides to retire, he is not only super talented, but sweet & humble. I wish him nothing but the best going forward👋💜
@@GloryB-xv4ro and I totally agree with everything YOU said. I have actually attended two BTS concerts and they were everything you’ve heard them to be. BTS found me one Saturday night in April 2019, when they were musical guests on SNL. They performed Boy With Luv (Mic Drop as their 2nd number). I’d never heard of them, but was hooked from the get-go. Then, I Googled them … and the rest, as they say, is history. What truly amazes me is how they touch so many people around the entire world. I was 14 when The Beatles came to Dallas in 1964. I know what it feels like to be “into” a band. I’ve listened to a LOT of music in 7 decades. BTS is different. More like a movement. I absolutely adore these men, together and as individuals. They each bring something special to the table. And it feels like a super bonus that they also happen to be extremely talented, as well as decent human beings. BTW, Jimin was my very first bias. Not long after, I realized Taehyung could very well have been my soulmate. Ohhhh, if only I was 50 years younger. 😂😂

Ah, this is a throwback to great voices of past eras that I love: Nat King Cole, Pat Boone, Vic Damone, Matt Monroe, Andy Williams, Tony Bennet and more recently, Michael Buble, John Legend. I don’t know anyone of his era who sings like this…warm & smooth like honey!
Le Jazz De V makes me so happy too. Im not into Jazz but V’s voice is amazing. I’m truly in heaven listening to it. Minna did well. I love the blending of voices

I am a huge Sinatra fan as well as a huge Tae/BTS fan, Tae did a live when he was on the road and sang fly me to the moon and I about sh!t my pants, OMG it made me fall in love even more with Tae, it’s sometimes scary how much Tae and I enjoy the same things, I joke that he’s my platonic soulmate 😂
Love Michael Bublé, sounds a lot like Sinatra, but Tae embodies Sinatra’s style, smooth honey vocals, good looks and class.
Tae seemed to find Sinatra’s music in his 20’s which was the same age as I was when I fell in love with Sinatra

V will continue to have a successful solo career if ever BTS decides to retire. He can cover many genres, but romantic songs, & jazz tunes will be his trademark. I can't wait for his album to be released, I know we will be surprised as V is so unpredictable. Loved the harmonies between him & Minna Seo, our Tae looked so comfortable & you can tell he really enjoyed himself👋💜💜💜💜
I would love it so much if Tae Tae did an entire album of old jazz covers. I played this for my 72 year old mom and she absolutely loved it! I’ve played it an unhealthy number of times 💜

His voice, those feelings poured into each word and note, the little dances, the scat singing, especially the scat singing, is just so artfully done with a touch of cheekiness that is so uniquely Tae, all of which that makes this more than just a jazz performance. He owns this!

My father played Standup Bass in a group at the Encounter Restaurant (now known as The Theme Building) at LAX in the 60s. Was a treat to see the instrument in this video and brought back many memories of growing up in the 50s with this type of music (although “Cheek to Cheek” was written in 1935).
I hope he does a whole album of Jazz. I was as excited as you were. The band was great and the girl harmonized perfectly with V. 💜💜💜
I´m so in heaven that I might start drinking some whiskey (for the first time in my 50 years) just to feel like I am in that jazz club listening to this heavenly voice. My 83 year old mom danced and sang with me to this songs. She was so happy and me too!! Thankyou V

Thanks for your reaction. Taehyung is a lot more than just a Kpop idol. His musicality, talent and passion for music are fantastic. He is interested in different genres of songs, including opera but is incredibly brilliant at singing R&B and ballads. But with deep, honey-like, and soulful vocals, he is born to be a jazz singer. He has an old soul and loves jazz singers like the late Bing Crosby and called Lady Gaga his Jazz Queen. And Bing's estate account complimented his jazzy voice a few times while Gaga fans are now eager for a collab. We are waiting excitedly for the arrival of his album, and surely jazz songs will be among his compositions.

The female singer is Minna Seo. She is a 20 year old So Korean jazz singer. I read she is call" the Princess of Jazz". She & V's voices blended so well. To me V's voice is like silk & honey & envelopes you in a warm hug that penetrates your soul. A big thank you to his Grandmother who helped raise V till he was 14 & who introduced V to the old classics, R&B and of course, JAZZ. I want more of jazzy V.

It was a complete joy experiencing this with you. I knew exactly how you were feeling, for it was just that exciting. You pointed out things I wouldn’t had noticed, so thank you for that. It blows my mind that this genre of music appeals to Tae like it does. A young man born and raised in Korea, has a love of American vintage music, a KPop artist no less. He sings it so beautifully. When this dropped last Friday...I smiled when Tae started singing the Christmas song. Great voice. but ... when he started to sing Cheek to cheek (reminds me of Fred Astaire in Top Hat version) ...immediately I was in Heaven too. Smooth, sensual, cheeky, skats too, Just love Tae's voice, really suited to any jazz music. I've seen Tae sing several jazz songs in part on his VLives, he loves singers such as Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, the Rat Pack etc. When he was in the U.S. he went into a jazz bar and danced by himself, a singer sang Fly me to the moon and Tae was lost lol ...waves bye byeeee to Rosco xox

I am a percussionist and I love playing jazz. So smooth. Yes Tae can SCAT! Taehyung is a natural crooner and while he sings pop amazingly you can tell he struggles. This is where he belongs.

Thanks for the Director's POV I learned some interesting points. Pretty sure there is a touch of another of Taehyungs songs at the end of the piano on the first song. Have you heard V's Snow Flower? He can sing anything but the light inside of him shines just a little brighter with jazz. He really is cooler than cool. The musicians and Minna Seo are so incredible. Well done all around.
