  • This is the official Turf Mechanic Vlog, full of un-edited stream of conscious thought. On this channel you'll get behind-the-scenes content, short updates on projects around the property, hints at content that will be coming out on the main channel in the future as well as other things I find relevant to my viewers.
► I almost never link directly to products in videos published on this channel. For most things I use and recommend see this page on the Turf Mechanic website: turfmechanic.com/products/
► You can also learn the basics of tending to a lawn in my "don't know where to start" email series. Sign up for that free sequence of emails right here: turfmech.link/dont-know-where...
This channel will not be polished or fancy. For structured content see my main channel Turf Mechanic or my short form Q&A style channel Turf Mechanic Briefs:

Video just came out right after I just sprayed some sea kelp with some root growth hormone mixed in this evening. Brian, thanks for all the great information and all the work you do for the community

Considering Bermuda will grow on concrete I wouldn't say that's the best grass to do any tests on. 🤔

From all the videos I have watched, sea K has been the best for rooting. I think next year it’s the only extra stuff that I will buy outside of my fertilizer regimen and some micro greens.

Would be nice to have some Bermuda guys chime in on how we might be able to tell the difference between common Bermuda and a hybrid like tif green 419 sports turf.

Hybrids have a much shorter internode spacing than common. But there are also lots of "improved" varieties that are in between. However sometime if the Bermuda is stressed a common Bermuda can end up with much shorter internode spacing.

good info in this comment Tofulnc! That's a great launching pad for research. Maybe I'll reach out to BYD, Travis, Ron H, and a few others running Bermuda for a while now and see what they have to say on it.

Might have stunt the growth with all that kelp. Usually 20ml to 9ltrs.

lol, it's possible; it was a way too heavy dose, but as to my delight the grass never seemed to slow down above the ground. I suspect it may not have actually done anything harmful to it but probably was just wasteful in over applying. My guess is that adding extra may not harm but may not do a substantial enough good to warrant.
