ACC is really good, as is AC, just wish ACC wasn't so demanding running triple screen. Unreal Engine 4 is disappointingly demanding on graphics hardware. I recently got AMS2, which looks/runs great but the FFB is way overdone in a way that is good and bad...it's bad that it's not super realistic, but good in that it's super informative and you can feel exactly what is happening with the car through some of the "extra" force feedback. However, I feel like the cars (GT4 at least) are extremely squirrely and have an ice rink feel to them...and it's not good that it was hard to tell whether level 8 TC was more / less / the same amount of TC as 1 lol. I'll have to experiment with the setup and see if it gets better. iRacing was good, but their "you own nothing" pay scheme had me canceling after a 1-year gift sub. Personally, I prefer RaceRoom out of all for the driving experience, constant updates have been making it better and better, though it doesn't have the multiplayer base or weather...

I’ve been with iracing since beta, 08. I’ve never liked their tires or brakes. The ir18 is probably the best car as far as pushing the edge and being able to catch it once it goes over. The GT3 cars, gte and others, once they go, it’s a slow lazy spin. Ya, ya can do the “sim” thing, sim in the brakes to straighten it out but that’s not reality. As far as ACC, I don’t have it because it’s only GT3 cars. I’m going to get ams2 , main reason is for the CART package. Waiting for their Xmas sale.

v1.10.2 for ACC is great, only started playing this seriously after I got my new sim rig setup the way I like it.
I love the ACC online races, always tense and requires focus.
For some reason, i just can’t get into iracing as i have no interest in their official races as a newbie.
iracing is popular but u can’t pinpoint why it is loved by community.
definitely can’t be the outdated graphics, the physics (I don’t feel connected to the car or road) as I own the same car i use in iRacing. it’s nothing like the real thing.
PC sim racing titles should take a leaf out of GT7 which gives direction to a new comers on what they should do next.
Just hate having to buy cars and tracks as all the good content is behind a paywall.
Had a blast with a buddy on ACC last night both on our sim rigs, next thing you know, we did 50 laps in 5 back to back races in 3 hours straight of racing.
ACC needs harsher penalities, so many people just take each other out for no reason what so ever.
corner is just chaos and after 4 weeks of practising, my lap times really have improved and i feel connected for the road.
i personally prefer ACC over iracing. out of the box, i find AMS2 and iracing really lack feel unless i spend time tuning all the FFB settings.

It's pleasant to hear a pro pilot say that Acc is the simulation that comes closest to real life. Iracing has too much grip for me, especially when you look at onboards like the 24h of Spa where there are too many places that don't go flat out even though the game allows it.

Ams2 is on the madness engine as graphical emgine but on the isi physics engine. Just like Rfactor2 and iracing. Rfactor2 feels far more natural than ACC. At the time of filiming, acc was on a tire phyiscs that simulated one point of contact? Now its five. Ams2 and rfactor2 simulates a whole tyre patch. Which is probably why it's so much easier to find the tyre grip limit. On any case, way more fun.

There probably is no SIM racing game that performs real life driving. The only real driving I did was Karting many years ago as a teenager with my Dad and we raced on many different local Kart tracks in Chicago area. I love doing SIM racing cause it is great entertainment for me, I use VR, and to race against friends on Simulated well known tracks. There are several SIM games, not just one, that I enjoy to bring up and race on. Happy Holidays to everyone.

F-USA around Cleveland with Karsten's rfuktur 5.05 on my DD1 is bliss in the ffb feels department. Not particulary disagreeing with anything else James said about these sims and not saying iRacing most realistic sim - because it clearly is not - i've never understood the argument about iRacing brakes being unrealistic because you cannot get to "100%" without locking while there not being a 100% braking force in reality?
This might depend on overall philosophy but to me the way iRacing maps and treats brake, throttle and steering inputs etc., they absolutely nailed that and i wish other developers would actually take note.
Between all the valid things you can criticize like tire model, ffb, graphics etc. it feels odd to often hear this at the forefront when in my opinion it is actually the other way round.

Saying AMS2 sucks because of the Madness engine is just spewing ignorance. What exactly does the interviewer know about either of the engines used in AMS2/ACC. Instead of offering a baseless opinion on the Madness engine, how about bringing James back after he's had a go in AMS2 and ask the question again. It's more about the devs than just the engine itself, proven by ACC and its inability to optimize the Unreal 4 engine like most other games. Not an ACC hater here, would honestly like to see someone do this again with Baldwin to get his opinion on AMS2 vs ACC.

It just looks like an advertisement and an attempt to sell ACC, which, in my opinion, does not have a normal tire model, except for the operating tire pressure window. As a result, one of the worst implementations of force feedback, where there is no important information about weight transfer and so on. The opinion presented in the video is not specific. Allegedly, ACC is realistic. Well, let's compare with that bus in iracing, which may not be ideal, and the level of ffb working with irffb. In comparison, rubber in ACC is not rubber at all, but plastic. I think the video is at least dishonest. Just a lot of other irl pilots have the opposite opinion about ACC

iRacing or RF2, maybe AC depending on the quality of the model. Any other thing apart from that is just a lie. I personally like iRacing and RF2 depending on car model, but both are the best driving wise, equally far from the real thing: RF2 way too forgiving with drifts and iRacing less forgiving than the real thing.
