It's astonishing how many different countertenor techniques exist... You can somehow group them by sound... He sounds more along the Scholl line than the Daniels line or the Fagioli or the Jarrousky line... I absolutely love His voice... All countertenors are just beautiful singers

"Handel was born and baptised into the Lutheran faith (i.e. Protestant); apparently he resisted attempt to convert him to Roman Catholicism while in Rome as a young man, and his British nationalization in 1727 required him to be a practicing member of the Church of England."
@@thethikboy I know he never became a catholic and also stayed in Rome for musical and aesthetical reasons and I apreciate him for his music, not for religious options.

I'd rather hear a baritone sing this.
a pretty boy with an ugly, constricted and squeezed voice. Sadly audiences today are used to this horrible kind of sound and think thats how this music has to be sung. But castratos did NOT sound this way!

How did they sound? Did you have a vision? Alessandro Moreschi, a real castrate, sounds desperate in the surviving recordings.
No Moreschi does not sound desperate. But he is quite old and technique than did not help the singers. Today technique can do everything.
