      Was just reading up on Oregon laws for sluicing…. Don’t know if they’ve changed them yet but you have to have a 10k permit to sluice but dredging is ok???….

    • @SkovianGoesOutdoors
      @SkovianGoesOutdoors  Před 11 měsíci

      I think that may just be in specific locations. I can't sluice or dredge on the river in the videos, but most creeks and rivers (that are not esh) I think you can sluice and dredge. The only place I think you need a permit is on the beach. Don't quote me on those though

    Those are good pans! Good little pocket you are working. When it peters out imagine where the water was running when that gold got deposited and look for places in that same high water "stream" above and below. Gold is not randomly laid out and follows trackable patterns. Very cool to watch! Thanks!

      @SkovianGoesOutdoors dredging costs $550 a permit for illinois. Chicago creek higher up in california feeds the illinois, naturally. Not sure if the laws are more strict on either side. Althouse district next door east a couple clicks finding 22 pound nuggets, few 17 pounders. So far i only find nuggers at mcdonalds and theyre filled with metal shavings.

    • @SkovianGoesOutdoors
      @SkovianGoesOutdoors  Před rokem +5

      It's called a crevicing tool. This one is handmade, I got it at Umpqua Valley Mining Company in Winston Oregon, but I'm sure any mining store will have them. Another alternative that you can get from Harbor freight or Lowes is the "Pick and Hook set" or "Radiator hose Pick" similar set up to what this tool is
