- I make it back to the honey hole, and pull out some nice chunky pickers, and do some test pans around.

Vacuum... it's a great addition to your crevice tool kit.
It's at the top of my list for new gear :)
A Portable power station "might" run a 110 vac. I looked at the 18 v. Battery vacs....make sure you research them first. Many don't run longer than 15-20 min on a bat charge. I think the dewalt has a high drain. An off brand might be better. I was kinda looking at ryobi but I dont know yet.
I'll have to start doing my research. Always hate when I regret my purchase hahah
@@SkovianGoesOutdoors I agree. I'm partial to the small portable Dewalt. I sent you a link in the recent past.
@dananorth895 I have been running my portable Dewalt using 2 batteries throughout a full day. You only use it when cleaning up the last of the bedrock and crevices. But whatever ever you decide to go with, make sure that it is a wet/dry vacuum. It is extremely important. Good luck.
Its really great that you say just what is necessary without chatter or loud annoying music, it allows us to better share your experience on the river. I would be elated to find the colors you got from that day, haven't worked hard enough at finding and working a good place, but having days like what you show are rewarding beyond just what you find:)
Thank you :) I was really lucky to find this spot. Every day has been a good day down there :)
The gold is good, the guitar is annoying
@@stephanpryshlak766 ill keep that in mind
It looks like another great day on the river brother. Keep up the great work. Keep your pans heavy and remember gold is where you find it. SPYDER OUT
Where I find it is usually where I least expect it hahah
Super job. Great Video as always. very informative and entertaining
Thank you :)
The size of the gold your finding is amazing!
I'm loving it! One of these days I'll find myself a nugget :)
You will. Do you have detector?
No, sadly I don't. I would love to detect arround this area, but I'm too broke lol
He is getting great gold for simply using his hands and crevicing too. Great spot he found
I sure am lucky to have found this place, it blows all of my old spots out of the water haha
great area your at. one of my favorites
It's a beautiful spot :)
You’re killing it out there! I don’t think it’s going to take long for you to reach a thousand subscribers. Your videos are great and so is the gold!
Thank you, that means alot :) sadly I'm not able to access this spot over the winter, I'm going to have to find some new places here soon
@@SkovianGoesOutdoors winter is the toughest time for us prospectors, especially when it’s raining.
This is much better than other similar videos I've seen. I actually watched through the whole thing!
Thank you :) that means alot to me. I'm slowly getting better and getting new ideas on how to make things better :)
I'd love to work that spot! What you got out of that was pretty darn good!
Thank you :) I really got lucky when I found this spot
When I visit next, we need to gold panning!
We need to! I need a buddy to pan with
@@SkovianGoesOutdoors you’ll have to link me a good gold pan 🤣🙏🏻 I’m serious btw it looks fun!
Very nice man. .41 for panning is really good.
Thank you :) I found myself a nice spot
Ya it is Damon my brother!
Stay hydrated this weekend neighbor, supposed to be triple digit out, nice AU ....
The heat and I don't mix that well, I might be staying indoors for a while haha
Get a sawyer water filter and drink right out pf the rogue! Swimming will hydrate you just about as fast though.
Never seen your channel before but I saw Oregon in the title of video and had to check it out! Oregon is one of my favorite states to find gold with my buddies who live there! Love that state! Gorgeous location bud and awesome effort to find some shiny! It all adds up, all the best and keep after the adventure! 🤠
Thank you :) Oregon really is a beautiful place, I'm glad it's my home state. We will have to get a group together and o dig some holes sometime
Nice!
Thank you :)
Another amazing trip out! Nice looking gold, and the weather looked beautiful. You ever considered camping a night out there, or it is too rugged? That would be epic.
I have considered it, the mosquitoes are brutal down near the water. But I have found an old air field not to far of a drive away that I've been wanting to camp at. . .might have to make a video about it :)
@@SkovianGoesOutdoors Too bad about those mosquitoes. I don't like them at all, so I totally understand. No worries, love your day trips! Appreciate your channel.
Thabk you :) there is only one mosquito repellant I've found that works well enough for me to try an overnight on the river, I just can't find it anywhere lol
I was thinking the same. I'd be camped out 1-2 wks at a time with a hot tent, solar batt bank and sniping/sluicing to high heaven. Lol
Luckily home base isn't that far away, I wish I could sluice or snipe, but the water is super deep and fast right away
Enjoying the series on gold panning!
Thank you :) I'm hoping I can add some beach mining or some urban prospecting in sometime soon :)
Best channel I've come across yet. Good job dude. Be up your way in a few weeks for a few months prospecting hope to bump into ya. Oh yeah what pan you using?
Thank you, that means a lot to me :) I hope to see you on the river this year! I'm using the Xp pan, it's amazing!
thank ya sir appreciate it
I recommend buying a small battery operated vacuum. Harbor freight has one perfect for backpacking in.
That would be perfect! I've been leaving some pretty dirty cracks behind me
Buy an extra battery. Also, I notice a lot of flower gold in your black sands. Pack out your black sands
@@SkovianGoesOutdoors you’d be surprised the pieces that stay on the bedrock. I wouldn’t be surprised if you doubled your gold in crevices
I go through my pans about 3 times just to be safe, but I really should be packing them home haha, I know I'm missing something still
People used to save their black sand tailings till they got 55 gal drum(s) of it. Some refiners would pull out the gold, silver, platinum, rare earths.😮 Don't know if anyone's still doing that tho.
Some damn nice gold there mate 👍
Would love to have that sort of stuff in my area 😄
I just count myself lucky I found this spot :)
Nice gold brother New sub here. Good luck on the next one.
Thank you! I'm glad you are here :)
not bad ground. have you tried sniping it yet?
Not yet! I've really wanted to try put sniping though, it looks like alot of fun!
what part of oregon is this? i live in central oregon and want to try this kind of thing with my nephew
This is down on the Rogue. Southern Oregon and North Eastern Oregon are both really good places to look for Gold. Gold Panning is a really great hobby, I'm sure your nephew will love it :)
well so far hes been enjoyed fishing on the deshutes, and digging for thundereggs, so i am sure he will enjoy it. is there a campground you would suggest for us to start at?
@@SkovianGoesOutdoors
I would suggest one of the public recreational gold panning areas (The Roseburg Fairgrounds, Cow Creek recreational area) and I think there are a few on the rogue aswell (gold nugget wayside)
As for a campground? I wouldn't be positive on where would be a good place to point you. Maby somewhere closer to the coast? I've always been fond of honeybear campground between Port Orford and Gold Beach (never been gold panning on the coast though)
okay, thank you! if i remember to video the trip ill tag you in it!
@@SkovianGoesOutdoors
You should film it! That would be cool to watch :)
What river are you on ? I have been working Quartzvill creek and the South Santiam River all summer, and all iv got so far is 0.04 grams :( lol
I mostly pan on the South Umpqua and the Rogue. I've never tried panning up arround your area, but some other kinda close places near you that you could check out are Sharp's creek and Bryce Creek.
When did you pick up panning as a hobby?
I started panning back in 2018 up on the Little North Fork below 3 Pools. Then didind do it for a few years because the fires closed down that area. I just recently got back into it this year and got a sluice box.@@SkovianGoesOutdoors
Sounds similar to me, I started Durring the lockdown and panned for a year, took a few off and just recently started back up :) I hope you find a real nice spot to work man, just keep poking arround
You throw out so much!
I end up getting it all, I just don't film every piece I snuffer up (it's one of the hardest things to film) I usually end up going through my pan 2 or 3 times just to be safe :)
Not true...
It's quite real my friend
👀👀👀👀🫣 let’s gold
It was a pretty Ausome day :)
