- A song by Rutherford & Banks from Genesis' "A Trick of the Tail" (1976). My arrangement for solo guitar ( 3D tuning DADGBD).
Not the very best of takes (lots of missed notes, memory slips, unclean playing and even going offbeat at several points) but this will have to do for now.

Wowsa! ... Par Excellence! 👏👏👏
I've enjoyed and been impressed by your playing before but this takes it to a new level for me. What an arrangement!
Wow, thank you very much. I had a good time trying to figure it out. Cheers!
It's so good, it deserves a better recording. Thanks from a Genesis fan.
Thank you! Maybe one day, with a better guitar.
Wow I’m speechless
Marvellous!
Stunning! Best cover I ever heard ❤
Thank you.
Absolutely brilliant. I always enjoy coming across your Genesis videos and whenever new ones come out!
Thanks so much for dropping by to watch my videos. I have a couple more Genesis arrangements that I haven't recorded yet, just need to find the right time to record them!
Brilliant. I had heard your great work for years but now I'm finally convinced... Subscribed.
Thank you. Enjoy!
Buenisimo como siempre Alex y contento de verte con otro increible video con ese estilo y buen gusto.
Encantado de poder hacerte disfrutar con mis videos. Saludos sinoyes!
Very good!
I love this song
It's so nice to see you again Alex, great music and great playing as always. 💯
Thank you Taha!
I still watch your old genesis videos from time to time !
Thanks King!
Nice playing mate chords and melody well worked out 👍
I thoroughly enjoyed that!
Amazing,delicious,superb.
Loved the little Phil fill you did before the verse starts
😊
Beautiful piece of music
Incredible!😮
A brilliant rendition!
Amazing Rendition Alex, with the showing of so many guitar techniques ! There is so much art in this cover !
So glad you liked it, Fulvio. I try to keep it interesting for the guitar community as well ;)
Gorgeous
That, my friend, was absolutely brilliant. I had watched your arrangement of “Ripples” beforehand and there were elements which were not quite right (very good nonetheless) but this was, while a little challenging in places (as it is), superb. I could only dream of having such a capability and I honestly believe if one asked Hackett or Rutherford to play such an arrangement, they’d have a difficult time doing so. Bravo again.
So glad you liked it. The Ripples video, one of my first ones, was an attempt at replicating Hackett's and Rutherfords' parts. I took it down a while ago since I wasn't so convinced with it either. This one, on the other hand, is a different case since I tried to incorporate the singing and the other key elements of the song to the arrangement. It's indeed the most difficult of the Genesis' arrangements for solo guitar that I've made.
Fantastic!!
Dude 👏👏👏 absolutely blown away by this. So close to the original
MUITO BOM !!! PARABÉNS ... !
Brilliant!!!
Muy bueno, mis felicitaciones
Fantastic!! I'm a Genesis fan and also a guitarist and I thoroughly enjoyed your rendition of this song. Looks superdifficult. Well done!
Damn, that's really good!!
Nicely done.
легендарное возвращение!
amazing
Brilliant.
Bravo!!!!!
Gracias a tí! Me encanta el trabajo de Mike en esta canción con sus pedales Taurus y el riff principal de guitarra. Intentar encajar estas dos partes principales con la voz de Phil es complicado.
Amazing guitarist
Very nice 😊
Very good.
Muito bom......👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Sounds great :)
Nice!!!!!!!
U know its great when words readily coming to mind won't do it justice...almost as if you had something in the bag but u get home /w nothing left but a bag of tears....
Buenísimo
¡Aleluya! Ya pensaba que te había dado un parraque (y como ya no uso Facebook ni ninguna otra red social...). Y gran ejecución, como siempre.
Me alegra poder verte por aquí de nuevo y agradezco mucho tu comentario Bernard.
Hey welcome back. It feels like its been a while, like the last time I heard from you it was your decade old YES videos.
I'm still around. Not so active as in the first years but still dropping something from time to time ;^) Thanks for watching!
muy bueno
I just listened to the song yesterday for the first time in years, so I guess CZcams algorythm decided I should hear this too! Most excellent, will have to try this tuning...
I was starting to think my videos weren't counted in any YT algorythm so thanks for noticing it. Glad that you liked my video, that tuning is worth to try.
✨
Ouffffff 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Yes yes
❤
Very nice transcription, Alex! You’ve captured many of the nuances of the song.
Thanks a lot! That was my goal, unfortunately I missed a few notes at some parts but, Alas...
Nooooo, waaaaay!! As usual, another amazing genesis cover... Pleaseeee do a tutorial on this...
Thanks Conner. Tried to watch this with the slowing down feature? Sound is not good but it might help.
YES! 😁
That was fast! :)
Super! Very well done. Feeling inspired, but it's a far, far reach from here.
Thank you! Give it a try.
OMG
Very impressive! Only acoustic sings and rings.
Could you do snowbound from And then were three?
That could be a nice choice for an original guitar solo arrangement. I'd have to find the time to work on that and record it. We'll see. Thanks for the input.
!!!!
Woah Dude...such a musicien You are !! I know You lové Genesis ..thanks for this performance...I discover your vidéos just now...I play guitar Too I was produit of me today about my play..but now I ve seen You ..o boy!! I need to go back and play better!!

PORCAVACCA!

Hey...you are back. The other great Genesis cover guitarist Troubleclef can no longer play guitar at all due to a hand issue (carpal?). Good job here. Hows lcck down in Barca??
(or was it Madrid?)
Not Barcelona anymore, I moved to another catalan city a few years ago. There's still curfew at night and you cannot move out of your town without a good reason. You heard about troubleclef too, I see. I don't know if it's CTS but is such a bummer anyway, I just can't take it out of my mind.
@@hyperboreal I don't have any 'Music News' for you. I've been parked in the Frost* canon on youtube here. Gem Godfrey is the new Tony Banks. It's quite interesting but more to the harder side of Prog Rock. Fun even. The drumming is torential. These are Mates of Dunnery. I wrote a note to Troubleclef to see if he will reveal details of the problem with his hand. Phil Colins developed a problem too. Don't know of too many who developed carpal because of playing...don't know any actually.

The return of the Bank's two handed technique?!
Unbelievable ?
Is that Steve Hackett ?
No!
