    Looks awesome. You don't need brand new parts to have a good pc.

    I can see why people want RGB but I never had it and it doesn't bother me not having it. I don't make RGB a deciding factor in whether I buy an item. Instead if the one I want has it anyhow, fine I will buy it. I just don't want to make RGB a must have that may exclude better parts that may even be less expensive.

      I'm no fan of RGB, to me it is bells and whistles, just extra stuff, some love it and it is a must have. I once quoted on a video, I look at the screen not the fancy lights and the guy who's video it was got upset with me.

      Current rig is a 7000d case, hero motherboard with x7 140 and x4 120brgb corsair fans... matching ram and gpu. Next build is a "blackout" build. No rgb anywhere.

    I like that case, it fits in with the build, good choice.

      I got a huge old case, Golden Field Aresze with 3 fans (albeit molex but also RGB), using it to put all my pc parts from aliexpress in and boom I got bling on the budget. Not expensive tbh

      I'm just gonna reply to everyone instead 3 separate replies, but I don't see the value of a pretty case/rbg at this kind of price point. A nicer case/RGB fans is another $70? Idk how much a prettier case would be so I'll say $50, but probably at least $20 on fans. $70 on a used GPU goes a long way. The performance difference between a $250 and a $320 computer is huge. I think RGB looks dumb, but I understand why someone would want to spend an extra $70 on pretty looks when you are spending +$800 on a computer. I just don't understand that at this price point.

    • @IOTWVUVWTOI
      @IOTWVUVWTOI Před 3 měsíci +1

      @sethperry6616 I get what you are saying however most people would want it to look "pretty". I know when flipping pcs the ones that are "rgb" definitely get more views/interest and therefore sell much quicker. From personal experience.
      Personally I would rather performance with a decent airflow case and worry about looks after.

    10:20 - Yes. If you populate all the DIMM slots you will get an error if you don't have the fan shroud on. You can always use your fix to bypass this and trick the motherboard into thinking the fan shroud is on.

      I have to swap cases due to my daughter not paying attention and killing my entire front panel. I am going to try to get some USB Bulkheads and repair it if possible and put my old motherboard into it.

    This is great! Is it just as easy to swap Z2XX and other Z4XX models into a new case? Because that's a money spinner for sure. A bunch of the models come with good power supplies with pcie connectors too, so as long as your PC doesn't have a PSU shroud and can fit the taller PSU size (say if the pcie slots aren't indented at the back of the case for example), you don't even need the PSU adapter? Really cool

    Glad that 780 found a customer to go to. When I had mine, I populated all of the spots for the fans, but obviously you couldn’t do that with a HP Mobo unless you got a fan hub. The only negative with those HP’s is no pins for ARGB, and yes you would need two things. I did forget the 780T has its own fan hub that connects via Molex, and you’d have to get a Razr ARGB Hub to get the fans to change color. Yeah I’ve ordered many back plates via eBay which is cheap and convenient.
    I’m considering getting a used X99 Mobo (which was my second motherboard I purchased after my first one being a z87) to go into my Lian Li PC08WX case which I use for a test bench, or my back up PC. My main rig is a X299 inside a Lian Li PC011 Dynamic XL. I may soon swap that for a 011 Dynamic EVO XL because my wife’s build is in a 011 EVO.

    I would rather have that z440 case than the hardware. I like repurposing old Dell and HP mATX cases for mild daily driver PC builds. They have great front I/Os and if you take the ODD bays out you can put a 120mm fan there, sometimes a 140mm. Take out the 3.5" bays and put a 92mm fan there. Drill a bunch of holes in the front cover for airflow, of course. They work out great and I don't feel bad about cutting/modding them.

    Any socket 2011 v3/v4 build I do now I stick to the E5 1660-1680s. They all base at at least 3.4ghz and boost to 4Ghz, and run better if its a budget gaming PC.

  • @ScarletAmethyst
    @ScarletAmethyst Před 3 měsíci

    I've read the Z440 has 8 ram slots with quad channel which is similar to the X99 motherboard platform. The only issue with the Z440 is like most older computers it doesn't officially support Windows 11 which will make it a liability if games (or Steam) no longer support Windows 10. I know there are workarounds, but the average person may not know that. Still, if you do have a good decent computer, it's better to keep using it rather than getting a new cheap computer as the $200 laptops with Intel Celeron N4020 and 4 GB RAM are literately useless as they can barely run Windows 11, and it's better to skip getting cheap gaming desktops like the Alarco, ViprTech, and STGAubron which are usually 10+ year-old PCs anyway.
    Although most games will run on Windows 11, some games *will* check for TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot such as VOLORANT, League of Legends (since Vanguard), and the delisted FIFA 23 (but not EA Sports FC) *only if the game is running* under Windows 11, and older processors such as the 3rd Gen Intel Core *won't* have TPM 2.0 making these games unable to be played on these computers. The only workaround to play such games is to downgrade/install Windows 10 or dual boot both Windows 10 and 11 although both methods are not convenient. So far, I think Riot is the only company to ever require TPM for their games as all other games can work regardless of TPM.
    I don't know if there are any games that will flat out refuse to run on older processors (besides VOLORANT on Windows 11) since even a Haswell (4th Gen processor) i5 or i7 will still run some newer games and the Intel Core i7-5820K (X99 motherboard) has 6 cores with the only limiting factor being the processor and RAM. I remember in the PS4/Xbox One era that there were some newer games like Far Cry 4 that wouldn't work on a dual core processor such as the Intel Pentium and the Intel Core i3.

    9:18 - Why does it look like your 4 pin fan fits the socket HP's got. I have a normal 4 pin fan and I had to force it in as the slot didn't match up. Is it wired differently or are they just using a proprietary fan socket thing?
