I'm 58. Never experienced war in my homeland - UK - but seen so much in other lands via the media. We MUST - despite all that stands against us - still fight to kiss, embrace and love the future. If not for our own sakes, then for our children and the young people of the world. We can do better. We have done amazing things in spite of terrible forces against us, filled with greed, cruelty, prejudice and rage. If an old man like me can believe, please please please... keep the faith in your fellow humans and let us not fall beneath their boots. It will not happen fast or with ease and - most importantly - the war will NEVER be over as we will always need to bee vigilant and on guard. If we can get through a few more centuries as a species, then maybe our descendents will indeed kiss the future 💕💕

Unfortunately, I agree they should have retired by now. To me, Vertigo Tour should have been their final bow. 2015 to now, the world doesn’t deserve them. They don’t belong in this time period.

Rubbish. They exploited that situation for their own grandstanding. I was at the concert in London around 1993 when they did the live link up to Sarajevo and the girl who was chosen to speak absolutely lambasted the audience and the band. Rightly so.

U2 were approached by an aid worker and played Sarajevo in 1997 a concert which lost them money but was attended by many Bosnians and is credited by increasing morale so they responded
that "somebody" who said grace under pressure...was Ernest Hemingway;-)

This looks extremely interesting. My parents took me on Vacation to Yugoslavia in summer 1990, and what an experience that was. We visited many places, including Sarajevo... but for me Mostar bridge was the most memorable. We were well aware of trouble brewing as there were nothing but military vehicles on the roads, however, we did not realise the atrocities that would ensue. R.I.P the victims of Bosnia.

Bono speaks about war, famine and people starving in the world all the while, he is wearing a $2000 outfit and driving fancy cars and living in mansions.

Moment I heard the opening bars of “One”, my heart was filled with joy. What Sarajevo went through while the greatest of world leaders and the UN watched was abhorrent. I remember that Zoo TV concert where Bono streamed footage from Sarajevo. There’s a reason U2 have some of the most emotional concert experiences in music.

Ok but I was at the Wembley concert on zooropa when Salman Rushdie came on stage and they had a live link up with Sarajevo and I bet they don’t show what the girl said - she had a right go at Rock Bands and Crowds showing meaningless support for the Sarajevo cause and she had a point

Why didn't they include Bruce Dickinson, singer for Iron Maiden, who, with his band, literally crawled into the city under constant fire from hills, and held concert under raids? As i know, Bono and U2 never step foot inside city when it was under constant attack.

I love U2 from the beginning of the 80s until the 2000s and I lived in Split, Croatia ex Yugoslavia during the war, fortunately we didn't experience what Sarajevo did, but if they stick to the ethics from the 90s, then let them mention Gaza too, in my opinion they should retire.
Now THAT's a full show! Excellent distillation of such a wide variety of news and current affairs. A ton of work under deadline - (I worked in TV news for a decade, so get it). Well done and kudos to the entire team!

This looks really good. I’m looking forward to watching it. Having said that, the fact that in 2024 Bono, Bill Clinton, Christian Amanpour, etc. have now become the villains who are doing the exact same thing they exposed in this documentary is one of the most astoundingly disheartening dynamics I’ve seen in a very long time. They are now the bad guys.

I’ve been a U2 fan since ‘83.
They promote this film promoting them as saviours during a war 30 years ago….
But they don’t even have the b@old or conscience to even mention Gaza.
U2 is and will be one of the most influential bands of time, there's no arguing that. Bono was just phenomenal. When they did LIVE AID. , the whole band is just incredible. One Love is and still remains one of the best songs

Nothing changes. 70 years, and Gaza is still under seige. What will you do to make it better? Protests will not be the answer but they offer a spark. Too much hate and money mixed up in a power struggle. Many generations have tried to cut in but in the end hate and greed win out.
They’ve spoken about Gaza and the atrocities plenty of times. It’s incredibly sad how that region hasn’t found peace in decades.

To put it more bluntly, (and as much as I love U2 as well), there’s not that much interest in what Bono has to say from a stage in Las Vegas when there are bigger and far more pressing matters at hand going on in the world.
