    I respect Doctors who show genuine concern for their patients. Really digging deep by asking questions, medical history, how you're feeling, etc. Explaining possible causes, explaining the tests or procedures needed, explaining the medicines and what it's supposed to do, setting expectations as to what could happen after the results, sharing positivity to the patient, and checking up how they're doing. I've had A LOT of experience where I felt like it's just "business" for them. Or that I was stupid or vain for going to them. Ex. I went to see an OBGYNE because I was having an unusual pain in my abdomen, and she told me "so pumunta ka dito for dysmenorrhea lang?" Or when I was having throbbing chest pains and the doctor said (irritably at that) "Sigurado ka ba chest pains?! Baka kabag lang?" Or yung magrerecommend ng procedure like colonoscopy "just to be sure" even if there were no irregularities from the ultrasound and stool samples. Things like that. I only have 1 memory of a "good doctor" and he was an orthopedic. I was complaining about severe lower back pains, and he was very patient and detailed in explaining what causes the pain, nag demonstrate pa what's the proper posture, etc. and I really felt his sincerity in helping me address the problem. I hope new doctors like you will never lose sight of that. Thanks for sharing, Aura!

    The moment you said that you always wanted to be a teacher, i was surprised and inspired. I am a 14 year old student and I want to be a teacher but somehow i am also interested on being a doctor. That being said , I am really really inspired by you . You are an amazing, smart, informative and more importantly, an inspiring person. Thank you, Doktaura!☺😘

    Always learning something new ❤ Love you DoktAura. Thanks for this 😁Being the "Educator" is definitely something I'd like to see more with doctors. Being able to simply make their patient understand why how and what is going on even if the patient don't ask. It creates a relationship like what a teacher and a student have. It's definitely something i rarely see with doctors, in my experience ofcourse.

    For me a doctor should be like doctors to the barrio. They heal, educate and lead the community to have better health care practices that would help people live a better life.

    The MD curriculum doesnt prepare an individual to become a specialist. The MD degree prepares you to become a whole rounded doctor that can manage all diseases across the life span, with the qualities traits and attitudes of a five star physician. Nice aura keep it up.

    I have question sort of related to this, I'm an aspiring medical student as well, but my problem is I have zero social skills, I'm an introvert, I don't like to get involved much, so when I actually do become a doctor, how much big of a problem this is going to be? I mean, I'd love nothing more than to just simply look at the patient's symptoms, deduce the problem and suggest a treatment plan, that's it. Is it absolutely necessary to have all these social skills that you mentioned?

    • @AuraAzarcon
      @AuraAzarcon  Před 7 lety +3

      Introverts will have no problem "socializing" with patients because we do it one on one. We don't necessarily have to put ourselves out there in a big group, which is what introverts generally don't feel comfortable doing. Your personality type shouldn't be a hindrance. :) --from a fellow closet introvert lol

    • @Ishant4President
      @Ishant4President Před 7 lety +1

      Aura Azarcon ah that's a relief, this was a big worry for me.
      What about during the college though? Would it be a problem then? I ask you because like you, I'm also looking to do my medical edu in Philippines, so naturally you'd be the best person to ask, so..

      Ronald Aguilar nope. Not really. Here in cebu, CIM is viewed as the school for the smart kids. i do not come from that school. Im from another school. Before i used to be afraid to sharing my thoughts on certain med stuff in the presence of CIM students because i might make s fool of myself, but now that nakasama ko na sila sa duty sa public hospital, we are no different from each other. Same lang. may weaknesses and strengths ang bawat isa. So private o public, it doesnt really matter. Nasa sa iyo talaga yan

    Hello ate Aura srry po I keep asking questions, but I was curious what a LPN Nurse does and if it's actually needed in hospitals because I saw in another video that LPN are not that needed because of Registered Nurses. Btw I live in Canada so I don't really know if LPN Nurses are popular in the Philippines. Another question if your a doctor and your patient gets more sick and he/she dies does that scare you because their soul could like haunt you...?
