    Great video. I just bought this grill. It was a definite upgrade from the standard 500. Worth it in my opinion:
    -The hood is dual insulated…great for colder climates
    -Interior lighting and lights in the cabinet
    -Thicker grills 9.5mm vs 7.5mm
    -Soft close doors in the cabinet
    -Stronger rotisserie motor and larger skewer, with two sets of forks vs 1 set in the standard.
    -extra baffle in the hood to better protect against wind gusts.
    -prep station with bucket vs fold down wing.

      Can you light this grill if you lose power? I just ordered this. Any other tips or tricks, much appreciated.

    Can this be light without power if the electricity goes out?

    my knobs and the halogram always stay on. i need to flick the little switch on the black box to make them go off. i was told this was automatic?

      Hello. I'm sorry for the delayed response. There's a "proximity mode" setting which allows the lights to automatically turn on/off when it senses motion. There's a possibility that this mode either isn't activated which is why you are having to manually turn the lights on or off, or perhaps you do have the proximity setting on and it is malfunctioning. I would recommend taking a closer look at your settings and if that doesn't work then contacting someone near you who can come out and take a look. I hope that helps!

    In process of buying but what model.... Do I need 120 volt to operate a 500 pro model. (I know I will need for the Rotisserie but do I need it plugged in to just operate it?

    • @GilbertFireplacesBBQs
      @GilbertFireplacesBBQs  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, the PRO500 model does require 120 volt power for the lighting and the ignition of the side sizzle zone and rotisserie back burner. The Prestige 500 model uses batteries.

    Where do the charcoal ashes go

    • @Jamesak4747
      @Jamesak4747 Před 2 lety

      Put a drip tray under the charcoal insert after lighting the charcoal. It will catch all the ash and not clog up the gas ports

    All those bells and whistles and they still don't have an easy to read fuel gauge.

    the side cooler is dumb, they should have but a stove top style burner there. No one is cooling their drinks next to a flaming hot grill

      @GilbertFireplacesBBQs  Před 4 lety +2

      Thanks for your feedback Michael! Another way you can use the side cooler area is as a prep station and a marinade bucket.

      I would have no use for either, especially with sizzle zone on other side. I went with non pro RSIB model. The roll out propane and interior lights are a nice perk with the pro though.

      I agree. The sear box on the prestige 500 is good. But for interior lights and a not very practical cooler it's not worth the up charge unless you got the money to blow.

    Really like the interior lighting. However still not sure it's worth swallowing the pro price for just that feature

    • @GilbertFireplacesBBQs
      @GilbertFireplacesBBQs  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey Tony! Thanks for your feedback. The interior lighting is one of the added benefits of the Pro series. Some of the additional features of the Pro include the reinforced warming rack, upgraded rotisserie motor able to hold up to 40lbs compared to 20lbs and chrome finishing details. At the end of the day the Prestige and Prestige Pro are both great options and it comes down to personal preference and what works best for your lifestyle and budget 👌

      @@GilbertFireplacesBBQs ah after weeks of research I've never seen anyone mention the different rotisserie. The stainless side burner rack is cheap enough to just buy separate if wanted to upgrade. I decided to upgrade from the 500 to the 665 instead of going with 500 Pro

      Tony C how you like it? Mine comes in 2 weeks P500 RSIB. How’s the build/feel? Meeting your expectations? I’m concerned I may regret not going with another Weber.
