      PSG vs Dortmund is the only tie where Neymar was objectively better than Mbappe. To conclude from this that Neymar took PSG to the final is just stupid. Neymar missed 3 great chances against Atalanta, and they were on the brick of elimination before Marquinhos and Choupo-Moting saved them in stoppage time. If all the merit for reaching the final needs to be attributed to one single player, than that player is Marquinhos.
      Beside that Mbappe has clearly outplayed Neymar in most of the ties, including vs Bayern in 2021, which at that time Bayern were seen as unstoppable (19 straight wins in UCL), and most importantly vs Real Madrid in 2022, when Mbappe was head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch, had scored 2 goals, and all PSG had to do was defend the lead. Neymar losing the ball and then losing a legs race to Luka Modric for Real's second goal immediately after they had scored their first was PSG's undoing.

    Borussia Dortmund are a very interesting club. This season has been a tale of 2 different versions of them. This is a team who have been written off and nobody expected them to get this far in the champions league as you thought that they would get knocked out of Europe very early, but they topped their group surprisingly as people thought that were gonna finish bottom of the group or maybe 3rd and then in the RD of 16 narrowly beat PSV, underdogs against Atletico Madrid, they beat them across 2 legs in the quarterfinals, in the semifinals, they beat PSG and in a team that contained the “best player in the world” a “Ballon Dor contender” they stopped them from scoring and are now in the champions league final. Only for them to lose to Mainz 3-0 at home a couple of days later. Mainz is really their Kryptonite. Just a reminder that they’re playing against Real Madrid in the Champions League final in a couple of weeks and even after resting their best players they beat Granada 4-0 and imagine if their full squad for the final.
    While being in 5th place in the league means that they’ll get a champions league spot, realistically they’ve been inconsistent. One day, Dortmund defend so well and stop PSG from scoring, next day they lose to Mainz. They’re such an inconsistent and unreliable team and while I don’t watch them week in week out, you wonder why people say that “football has dropped off” especially since Borussia Dortmund of all teams are in a champions league final. Imagine if they somehow manage to win the champions league final in spite of all of this. I don’t see them having much of a chance against Real Madrid they should destroy them in the final, but this Borussia Dortmund team is funny and you don’t know what version you’ll get from them.

    • @NoCoastRaps
      @NoCoastRaps Před 11 dny +1

      I think that recent loss and their league standing is less of a testament to Dortmund being inconsistent - and more so to the rest of Bundesliga catching up with the powerhouse clubs in recent years.

  • @tobaepebinuade5830
    @tobaepebinuade5830 Před 11 dny

    Sure he got an assist against Nottingham Forest on his first game in 5 months and it’s a reminder on what he’s capable of doing when he’s fit, but in my opinion, Reece James shouldn’t go to the EUROs with England this summer. Their options at RB (Trent Alexander Arnold Kyle Walker Kieran Trippier Rico Lewis) etc it’s well documented and maybe Ben White if he didn’t turn down a call up and while Gareth Southgate at times has been able to use a back 5 back 3 formation in defense, you don’t need 4-5 right backs at the EUROs. I think on his day, Reece James is a quality right back who brings a lot going forward and in defense and yes he’s a very good player, but I don’t see the risk of him going to the EUROs this summer. He has had another season ravaged with injuries and it has been a common theme for him in the last 18 months where he gets himself fit before getting injured again. Chelsea haven’t been able to rely fully on him in a full season and also I can’t remember the last time he’s completed 3 full games for them. Can you call up a guy who can’t even get a run of games, he needs to prove that he can remain consistent and fit for a long period of time and he hasn’t done that of late.
    Gareth Southgate has to take that in consideration before naming his final squad for the EUROs this summer players who are nowhere near fully fit after going the whole season without kicking a ball and since it’s Southgate, I wouldn’t be surprised if they call up James to the squad even though he’s played what less than 10 games. 2 years ago because of injury, he didn’t go to the World Cup as he wasn’t fit enough in time to make the final squad, but for him during this period it’s been recurring injuries all over again and if you’re Chelsea you should hope that England don’t call him up to the EUROs this summer and I get that players want to represent their country at a major tournament, but due to his injury record in recent seasons, his long term career and his health is much more important than a 1 month tournament. For Chelsea you need this guy at full strength and for them, you need him to be fully healing because he’s a vital player for your team. Let’s say he was healthy all season, his chances of going to the EUROs, he would make the squad very easily, but a guy who has played a small amount of games throughout the season should go to the EUROs because of one assist.

      Also, Neymar was their best player merely vs Dortmund, Marquinhos was the key player vs Atalanta and their best player overall in the knockouts, while Di Maria was the best vs Leipzig. And Neymar's performance vs Dortmund was bested many times by Mbappe, not only in his iconic performances vs Barcelona and Bayern in 2021, but even in the ties vs United '19, or vs Real '22, where PSG actually got eliminated with PSG supporting cast failing in key moments, Neymar being M.I.A in the former, and losing the ball and failing to chase Luka Modric in the key 2nd goal for Real Madrid in the latter.

    From a statistical and individual standpoint, Kylian Mbappe’s time at PSG was a success. A lot of people will look back at his time at PSG and say, well he scored over 250+ goals, but didn’t win the champions league despite playing with Messi and Neymar and while that’s the only thing that hurts his legacy there, you can’t deny his greatness even if the champions league was that one trophy that he didn’t win. He stayed at PSG for way too long and was supposed to leave that football club years ago, but for anyone of his age to be putting up those numbers for the last 5-6 seasons at a single club and still be considered a failure tells you how high his standards are and many people forget that he’s 25 years old. During his time at PSG, he averaged a G/A a game and sure people will say that he’s a stat merchant and it’s Ligue 1, realistically how many players are putting up those stats consistently. He joined PSG as a teenager after leading Monaco to a Ligue 1 title and a Champions League semifinal run and during his time there he became one of the best players in the world even if he played in a much weaker league. If only people watched him on a weekly basis rather than just judge him off of 2-3 champions league games a season. I have mixed opinions about Mbappe’s career at PSG.
    The reason for that is because despite the staggering numbers that he put up, the problem is that a lot of people don’t watch PSG. I don’t hold back when I say that because from the ones who judge him, I can tell who watches PSG and ones who don’t watch this team. What I mean by that is that nobody cares about Ligue 1 because with or without him, they’ll win the league. He was benched for some chunks of the season, yet they still won the league. People don’t realize the difficulty of playing for PSG when you’re a superstar your legacy there is only judged by the champions league nothing else. It means that your domestic achievements mean nothing because fans only care about winning the champions league. Mbappe has some responsibility to take on their shortcomings in Europe as he’s only been to 1 UCL final in 7 years and in some of these big games he’s not been able to show for his team when it matters, but he’s not alone. They have been on the wrong side of a lot of embarrassing champions league exits that have been out of his control. Superstars have to put the team on their back in these important games, he’s not responsible for their inability to win the champions league even though he has had some moments where you want more from him. I get it you had Messi Mbappe and Neymar on the same team yet still couldn’t win the champions league, but anyone who understands ball would know that you can have great individuals, you can’t win the UCL purely off of just individual talent without a strong team. PSG have a good team but they were never built to win the UCL even with all 3 of those superstars together. The reason why the PSG project failed is because they were more focused on filling a team full of stars rather than building a team. You can have great players but it doesn’t work without a great team around them. Both of them left and Mbappe tried to carry them to a UCL title, but again it’s the same story as every season with them in Europe. Now they’re about to lose MNM in a span of a year. People forget that he’s been on an average PSG team in his career having to carry a team that has a goalkeeper who has a mistake in him, a defense that falls asleep at the worst possible time and a midfield that has a 17 year old as their most important player. He had 8 goals in the UCL this season which should be good enough considering the team he was on and his performances were decent at best, even if he was at his brilliant best, he still wouldn’t be enough to win PSG a UCL title. No player has ever single handedly carried a team to a champions league title not even Messi and Ronaldo. We’d be having a different conversation about his time at PSG if they won the champions league in 2020, I don’t think it’s a failure even though with all that talent, they shouldn’t win the champions league, but again that team wasn’t elite enough. Now that he’s leaving, PSG need to focus on building a team and stop just going for superstars when it hasn’t worked and they have a young core of talent and focusing on the future is a bright spot for them because this project failed big time and sometimes you just wonder if this team is ever winning the champions league.

    It is the news of the day, of the week, and surely of the year. Kylian Mbappé announced his goodbye from PSG after 7 seasons and his next destination, although he is waiting for the final to pass to announce it, will be Real Madrid.. Waiting patiently.
    It is highly recommended and a MUST for Real Madrid management, board of directors, coaching staff, people working in their club who are involved on the transfer-market to permanently sell who are currently out on loan to play for another football club, do not offer a loan with buy back clause or with a number or percentage rights, recall or return players that are currently on-loan by another football club to play for Real Madrid, ageing ((28) years old and above), inconsistent (due to limited playing time, never have played and always on the bench, poor defensively, not performing well) regardless of age, injury prone, those who are not comfortable playing in different position, that MUST happen on or before July 2027. We are referring to Modric, Kroos, José Ignacio Fernández Iglesias "Nacho", José Luis Mato Sanmartín "Joselu", Vasquez, Daniel Carvajal Ramos "Dani Carvajal", Courtois, Alaba, Rudiger, Arrizabalaga, Mendy, Daniel Ceballos Fernández "Dani Ceballos" Jesús Vallejo Lázaro "Jesus Vallejo", Francisco José García Torres "Fran Garcia", Diaz, Juan Miguel Latasa Fernández "Juanmi Latasa", Reinier Jesus Carvalho "Reinier", Rafael Marín Zamora "Rafa Marin", Nicolás "Nico" Paz Martínez, & Guler.
    Once they get sold these are the players should be sign based on their positions on or before July 2027.
    Right Back: Jesus Fortea, Malo Gusto
    Left Back: Alphonso Davies, Miguel Gutierrez
    Centre Back: William Saliba, Leny Yoro, Dean Huijsen
    Main Striker: Kylian Mbappe
    Lastly Real Madrid must never offer a contract to these players for a RIGHT BACK position, that are inconsistent regardless of age, poor defensively, has disadvantage of height and strength (lacks muscles), proven already that unable to stop wingers/strikers in different leagues, injury-prone, has beyond 60 million euro's transfer-market value, and ageing 27 years old and above, and turning 27 years old and above on year 2027. We are referring to Walker (33), Trippier (33), Di Lorenzo (30), Cancelo (29), Dumfries (27), White (26), Mazraoui (26), Wan-Bissaka (26), Alexander-Arnold (25), Hakimi (25), Tomiyasu (25), Royal (25), Dalot (25), Porro (24), James (24), Frimpong (23), Couto (21), Livramento (21), Bradley (20), Sanchez (20), Lewis (19) and Fresneda (19).
