Mai had severe PTSD after Battle City, what with Marik screwing with her mind after their duel. It would have made for some interesting character motivation, but 4kids chose to not acknowledge any of that. She didn’t deserve to be written so poorly like that
Yeah in the manga, Marik tortured Mai physically during the duel and after she lost, he put her into the time glass that slowly filled itself with flesh eating insects that would devour her over the course of 24 hours. Really fucked up....

The Assassin's Creed joke is actually referencing the YGO Bonds Beyond Time Abridged film, where Jaden is parkouring and states "Man, it's a good thing I play a lot of Assassin's Creed!"
Which then gets referenced in YGXTAS where he climbs a tree and says "its a good thing i played all that AC3
i still cant believe that Dartz is being voiced by Takahata, who also voices (Perfect)Cell and Alucard. so crazy, even after so many years i just cant.

The "Orgoth the Relentless" bit is one of my favorite jokes in the series
God that "running with scizzors joke" is a massive callback. That's how they said tristan's voice died in S1.

The Mai and Joey ship is something that you'd only get by watching the actual show. It is rather weird, but there are implications in the anime that their is something more than friendship especially if you watch the dub where Valon states that Mai loves Joey deep down. However, Takahashi (Rest in Peace) does state that Joey and Mai are just friends.
I only ship them cause I read the manga and I liked Mai from the beginning, shes a bit douchy sometimes, but she helps the gang right from the beginning, multiple times.
@@realglutenfree my only reluctance to ship to them is that Mai was still a grown women while Joey was a teen. I still really like them together but it's sort of weird that Mai and Joey were the closest thing to a normal relationship.
12:19 the “creepy music” is from Luigi’s Mansion 😍 It’s a video game from the GameCube, I love that game, it’s basically a Mario horror game starring Luigi as the main character.

I was also watching the yugioh tournament! I love how all of them are hooked now. I also love how they talk like the anime when they are dueling. Learning yugioh can be super daunting... My best suggestion is to find a deck you like and then learn the in and out's of that deck which will then help you to see what others are like.

If you wanna learn how to play, and wanna play games, i reccomend Legacy of the Duelist. Not only is the tutorial good, but as you go through the story you use the decks the characters would have used at the time. You can get it on all platforms
I'm sure some of the bigger episodes have actual subtitles, not autogenerated and that helps a lot to understand Dartz
I know at least 81 does, which is LK's magna... magnun... it's his best work
even the auto generated subs are weirdly accurate in translating Darts

YES, HAVE YOUR BROTHER TEACH YOU IN A VIDEO OR STREAM. As for what Games to play, I already gave my suggestion of Master Duel. Maybe you can learn on there and maybe just stick with Single Player stuff for awhile.
They need to kill it because if your opponent has a monster on their side of the field, you cant reach theif life points without killing it first, ofc as the game stands nowadays, you could return it to the hand, deck, or remove from play entirely.
When you say "Melon out" in the outro of your video, that's crazy because that means that when you start your videos you're "Melon in" (melanin) :P

The entirety of season 4 is filler, a surprising amount of the original anime was. This also includes the complete virtual world arc.

I have a question. Have you ever watched Combat Gods? If you haven't seen it and you love the art of throwing hands in anime, then you should watch it. It's some of the best of throwing those paws that I've ever watched. The reason why I requested Combat Gods is because I've already seen it, plus a few people that I'm subscribed to did a reaction to it today. So check it out and tell me what you think of it

Why don't you play Duel Links? It's an excellent game to start learning YuGiOh dueling against NPCs, passing missions, etc.
In the future, you can try some ranked duels

Duel Links is great, but Master Duel is more accurate.
"He looks older" the funny thing is Mai being so much older than everyone else of the main cast, around 24~ vs everyone else being 15-16
you should play yugioh duel links and/or yugioh master duel they both are free, they have tutorials for summoning, and are obviously multiplayer so you can connect to others
and if you like customizing your cards etc. they got that to
Edit: Master duel is how you play the game originally, but duel links is easier to understand
Master Duel is what I prefer her to play, but I wouldn't mind if she started Duel Links.
Hey, Melon. Check out the 4Kids version of the season 4 Mai vs. Joey duel. The ending of that duel is actually interesting. Mai's story seems like its supposed to be deeper than it was presented. Its cool to see that you're close to the final episodes.

Good luck learning how to play Duel Monsters. Its easy to pick up and play but most cards now a days have a paragraph of effects. I highly recommend Yu-gi-oh Duel Masters! on Steam, its free to play and has ever card to date (i think).
