    About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK and Escape to rural France to restore this beautiful building to its former glory.

I honestly didn't know how you were going to pull it all together when I started watching your channel over a year ago. The 400 Suite was a catch-all for your construction projects. An amazing amount of random stuff. There was literally dirt under the floorboards, the practice I still don't understand, and rotten windows and paneling. The end result is amazing! You've brought the chateau back to its glory days, probably even better than what it was. Much respect for all of you.

Take a deep breath. We will all brainstorm with you. You have overcome so many obstacles. This will be another entry in your Book of Success Stories.

  • @user-tk1ht6wn3j

Suggestion - All of you should take a turn sleeping in the suite and using the bathroom and sitting room. It's a great way to find out things that might not be obvious.

  • @jerryjacobson143

Suggestion: consider adding a small brace/back plate on the backside of the luggage rack. Without some form of protection, suitcases will brush up against your lovely paneling and you will be continuously touching up the wall behind the luggage rack.

It’s a little late now as I see someone repaired the pipe leaks for you. I highly recommend putting water shut off valves to all your fixtures. This way you can shut off the water to that one thing for repairs without having to shut off water to everything. I didn’t see any shut off valves to the toilet, tub, sink, etc. The same would be true for all the heating radiators. If your radiators are daisy chained, you might need bypass valves. These changes will save you time and headaches in the future. As you remodel, it should be all about making it easy for you to upkeep the place and deal with repairs. My wife and I are loving your videos. Keep up the hard work. ❤

What you are doing with your chateau is just short of miraculous. Having been in the hotel business for several decades (yes, I am that old) I would caution you to think about all those shall artifacts you cherish. It is inevitable a guest or two will want to take a souvenir from the chateau to remember their magical visit. I foresee your Titanic dinnerware will be highly desirable… save all your priceless artifacts to be used as props for your chateau’s photoshoot…❤❤❤

  • @kimberly_erin

Finally someone on one of these chateau videos who knows how to solder a pipe. Thanks bricko Mark!

I'm stunned at the beauty and attention to detail in your amazing renovation, but like more than one or two commentators, I've worked in hospitality, and you would be amazed at how much theft and/or careless disregard for property some guests will display. If it would break your heart to lose, for example, a cup and saucer from theft or even accidental damage, please put them in a display case and use something pretty but replaceable.

Whenever you get discouraged over small bumps in the road go back and watch your first video of the chateau to remind yourselves what a Herculean task you’re undertaking. Oh, and I covet those large shears Tracy uses-they make me smile every time I see you use them. Well done, all of you.

It's just lovely, really quite amazing. Be careful leaving precious cups and saucers out for guests, perhaps just white china with the beautiful Titanic ones on display in a curio cabinet in the sitting areas of the suites. Everything has been so carefully planned and your attention to detail inside the chateau and in the formal garden is a testament to all your hard work...now go buy your Mum some nice hand cream and give her a hug.

  • @marthaizaguirre6363

As you know it's never "just a little fix"! Your ability to stay calm and carry on serves you well. Bravo! 🤩🤩🤩

  • @terrydiehl3889

So very lovely! Everything is beautifully done. The lucky people who get to stay in those rooms will feel they are in heaven!

  • @user-ci5jp6jc9c

400 Suite is absolutely beautiful! Like stepping back in time. All of your thoughtful touches and details do not go unnoticed! Well done! I love the luggage racks in the room. Here is a tip you may want to adopt. . . .put felt tabs (pads) on the back ends of the luggage rack (the part that leans on the wall) so when you fold them up, they will not scratch the paint.

  • @CeciliaA1902

Your attention to the smallest of details is what separates your work from many others' work. I can just imagine myself checking in to that suite and becoming giddy over every little thing: from the beautiful teacups and silver spoons, to the fact that the TV has a frame around it, to the hairdryer sitting on a perfectly-lined tray. What a dream of a suite you have created! So looking forward to the "before and after" video! Also, as many others have already said, the leaks are a disheartening find, but better to locate them now than later once guests are in the rooms.

  • @evelynenerveat2077

So now your beatiful chateau Titanic suite is completed and this part is now back to its glory. What an amazing path you've paved. Congratulations! It' s really fantastic. Just remember your 1st videos.... How dreadfully dilapidated it all looked and then with patience, taste, sweat and will you've completely transformed the place. It's now out of this world! Thank you for restoring our French patrimony.

  • @user-fc2hb3de2w

Glorious! Deep breathe Terry, you all made it happen.

  • @michelemarie2499

    You are very courageous

  • @roywhitt3308

Wow!! That frame around the TV is an amazing touch. Great job.

I've been watching since the beginning, almost every week. Now and then I'll miss an episode, but more and more I'm truly astounded at your progress. "Theyve done All That since the last time I watched?!"
