- Club Penguin Legacy, the fan server that copies the good ol' days of Club Penguin, has returned. Disney requested the shutdown of the game in early 2023, but how is it active again? Is Club Penguin Legacy currently operating without Disney's approval? While the game's comeback is exciting, things might not look great for the future.

The original Club Penguin was sadly never a part of my childhood (I started with Rewritten) but I'm hoping people can continue to do all they can to preserve the game so veterans and newcomers like me can know what it was like back when the original was still around!

I'll always love this game and it's community, I remember seeing that club penguin rewritten was a thing at around 2019 and hopping into a server, and what I see is a bunch of already grown up fans in the underground area, talking about life and how much this game meant to them while digging with the mining hat dance.
That was one of the most heartwarming things I've ever seen, everyone was super polite and just talking, having fun reminiscing about their childhood. Waddle on fellas.
It's real great to see this is back I hope more club Penguin private servers can return

Angry Birds getting deleted is hyperbole, yes it got deleted off of Google Play but not the Apple Store (now called “Red’s First Flight”)

Although i'm happy for the return, I'm afraid these club penguin remakes will be on a loop thanks to Disney's greediness and DMCA All that stuff and my point is that it's time companies like Disney & Viacom should at least be fair with the copyrights and license hold with their properties, People who like these properties make stuff to express the love they give to said property, If things don't just get copyrighted left and right without a second thought by the companies themselves, They will have a negative feedback doing so with being fair with the rules of copyright infringement and entertainment purposes as a whole, Anyways i'm glad this returned to our screens

I like to think that Disney actually listened for once and decided against the lawsuit, even though that's not the case
When I opened the website it said:
"Club Penguin Legacy is an independent remake of Disney's Club Penguin, it's a completely free-to-play experience, with no form of subscriptions, donations, or other means of generating revenue.
Club Penguin Legacy is not affiliated with the Walt Disney Company and the Disney Interactive Media Group. By using this site, you hereby release Disney, along with any of its employees or agents, from any and all accountability or harm, whether corporate or personal, arising from the use of Club Penguin Legacy, either by yourself or others."
I think that Club Penguin Legacy and Disney has come to a legal agreement, but I'm not entirely sure.
They probably established these terms of use as a safeguard against being liable to Disney. Whether or not they created those terms independently (as an independent entity) or as part of a deal with Disney, we don't know. That said, I'd still be cautious of CPL because you really never know what they're doing with the data we're giving them. Their "over-professionality," if you'd like to call it that, just gives me sus vibes.
Beware of this CPPS. I asked to have my account deleted and after I confirmed to the support team that I wanted my account to be deleted, they only responded once to my follow-up inquiry saying that "they are currently in the process of deleting [my] account." It has been more than a week now since this response so I checked to see if my acc was still there and sure enough, it still was. They haven't been responding to my emails asking how the deletion process is progressing, not to mention they didn't even delete the account already! I'm not sure how long it takes to delete a private server account but I know it shouldn't be taking more than a week. They aren't being transparent. On top of that, I find it suspicious that they aren't allowing replies on their Twitter page... Should've just steered clear from all CPPS's in the first place. A shame.

Something doesn’t feel right about this. Why would Disney change their mind? Or are they going against Disney? And why would they hide replies?
While I never played Club Penguin, I’m going to keep tabs on this to see how this plays out, because something is off.
Most likely, Disney said nothing and the creator decided to keep the game going. Speculation on my part, but would make the most sense.

Can we please get a Blast, Game Kingdom and Preschool Time Online fan server game revival please? Those were the three main Disney online virtual world services I remember playing as a kid. Bradley’s Old School Collectjins recently gave us the PTO 2009-11 assets.

I was using my sister's computer the other day, and while boredly typing random letters into the search bar, I saw the link to legacy, and though I knew the game had shut down, I was really bored at the time and decided to click on it. To my surprise, the website was working just fine and I was even more surprised when I realized I could actually log in and play. I am very glad that it's back, but as you also said, I am wondering how they got away with bringing back the site in the first place. In rewritten, before the final shutdown in 2022, I think that they were also having troubles with Disney but got away with it for a while by changing the URL of their website a couple times. CPL coming back reminds me of those times as well, but I still have no clue how they were able to bring it back. Either way, even though I haven't been on private servers much since the shutdown of rewritten, I am glad that we still has this game. No matter what, the club penguin community still stands strong ♥️

my favorite thing to do in club penguin as a kid was play the dojo games and visit the other igloos and laugh at the terrible ones
I had a good talk with one of the creators/designers and he said that they have a very good legal team and that disney cannot take it down again!
