      The Diverge is definitely more slack and dirt oriented. Since my preference is to ride mostly gravel with the occasional paved connecting road, I'd go Diverge. If I were a mostly-road cyclist, who likes to venture off-road every now and again, Blackheart all the way.

    • @TheBikeSauce

      Sonic vibrations are in a totally different band of the frequency spectrum than road vibration. Damping (not dampening) only occurs across a certain bandwidth for a given material.

    • @SurpriseMeJT
      @SurpriseMeJT Před 3 lety +1

      @@TheBikeSauce You hit the nail on the head. The bike industry only uses tests which confirm the marketing they want to tell people - that the frame material's don't matter so much as tire pressure. It all matters. Between you and the road is a series of springs that all compress, not just the softest spring.

    • @SurpriseMeJT
      @SurpriseMeJT Před 3 lety

      Having owned ~25 bikes in about the same amount of years, I can tell you that frame material does matter. With frame material, the tube diameters and butting profile ranges within the given properties of a material type and the appropriate for the application of the tubeset make even more of a difference on how a frame feels.

    • @zacharylambert8631
      @zacharylambert8631 Před 3 lety

      There are no claims from our end. We love the look and timelessness of titanium, and we love how our bike rides. At the end of the day you can make a great bike out of any material or you can make a really bad bike out of any material. What's most important is to get to know the company who makes your bike and test ride one first if you can.

    • @TheBikeSauce
      @TheBikeSauce  Před 3 lety +1

    A 27.2 titanium seatpost gives more flex but its better to throw on a thudbuster ST. Oversized 1.5 fork also makes a stiffer front end. Switch to a 44cm cowbell, double wrap tape, and ride the flared flat down bar when the gravel starts rattling your brain.

    I would belive a bent seat post may give complete response

  • @SurpriseMeJT
    @SurpriseMeJT Před 3 lety +4

    I have two road bikes - A steel bike with a straight 1 1/8" head tube and a titanium one with 44mm head tube and a tapered fork (both have full carbon forks). I really do feel like the tapered fork is way too stiff. It's not only the fork, but the front end of the frame which is so much stiffer than the steel road bike. Tapered forks and steerer tubes on anything outside of mountain bikes really don't make any sense whatsoever.
    I would also note that 72.5 degree seat angle for a size 52 (according to the website) is far too slack in my opinion. Femur lengths for shorter people are also shorter - especially Asian body types.

    • @zacharylambert8631
