  • Mitch Marner's future with the Maple Leafs might be the most intriguing storyline to watch in Toronto this offseason. TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins Ryan Rishaug to share his thoughts on what the Leafs should be looking to do with Marner, who has one year remaining on his contract that carries a $10.9M AAV.

Marner only cares about the money NOT the team. He may become the biggest villain in Leafs history.

Treliving needs to trade Marner and stick the winger in the press box until said winger agrees to waive that no-move clause should said winger refuse to do so. Hopefully Treliving will encourage Marner to waive such clause by agreeing to be traded to a team of said winger’s choice. Ilya Mikheyev late Wednesday Eastern Time agreed to waive his modified no-trade clause via a move to the Blackhawks from the Canucks.

Just let him play out his contract and sign where he gets his best offer. Mitch is a regular season success. After he plays out his contract and Leafs get knocked out of the playoffs next spring in the first round - Marner owes nothing to the Leafs. 😀
