- You definitely didn't think it would be a great season for the San Jose Sharks this season... But nobody could've predicted it'd be THIS bad. The Sharks have only scored 12 goals this season, while surrendering 55 goals against. As well as getting blown out in TWO straight games. They are on pace to potentially be the WORST regular season team in NHL history.

@TheGotoGeek that's how I felt cheering the canes on in the 2010's I remember being happy that we weren't dead last in the league and super happy when we hit the 25th spot on the standings.

As a sharks fan I’m honestly not even surprised. We did terrible last year and we traded away all our good players for no name players.
I strongly agree to that. Me and my father got hoodies and loved the sharks winning game after game. But now it seems the HR department just traded good players for asshatz, my new fav team I'm rooting for now is Seattle Krakens. I lost all hope in the sharks

When they had Owen Nolan, he was my favorite player back in then. I think he was traded to Toronto in '03.

The sharks were an expansion team in the early nineties. It was only recently that expansion teams do so well so quickly. It used to have to take a decade
That was before the league decided it needed an instant winner in Vegas.

Yeah but the very next season they made the playoffs, beat the Detroit Red Wings who had Yzerman and Fedorov etc in the first round and took my Leafs (Gilmour, Clark, Potvin, Andreychuk etc) to Game 7 in the second round where we beat them, but they were so close to knocking us out in 6 games when Johan Garpenlöv hit Potvins post in OT minutes before the Leafs scored the winner to take it to 7.
As a fan from those days, yeah, it was bad. The upside was that you could hang around the back of the Cow Palace and get players to sign things.

I think they get a pass for 1993. it was their first year in the league and expansion teams didn't get any good players back then.

That kid is experiencing exactly what I had, In 2011 the jets came back and I went to watch my first and only nhl game with my dad, it ended with 2-0 sharks win, it was disappointing but it happens, the fact that it happened to him but way worse is just shit, The only way it’d be pure déjà vu is if they lost to the jets
I got into hockey just over a month ago and because my home team is the Sharks I am an obligatory fan but I'm also an Oiler's fan so no matter what I watch I'm just perpetually sad. However, watching so many bad games has very quickly taught me how to spot errors, what penalties are likely to be called, and also to really despise pulling goalies out in the last 2 minutes. It never works but they just keep doing it 😭
That said… sharks, can I play a game in net for you guys? You’ve got nothing to lose and it’d be a great publicity stunt. I’ll bring beers for the locker room

It's not from a lack of talent. Check out those early Capitals teams of the 70s. They will always be the worst NHL team of all time to me. Specially the 74/75 team. Not because they only won 8 games all year. They had a horrible roster of cast-offs, career minor leaguers, and a 42 year old Doug Mohns.

The thing about the sharks compared to a lot of other bad teams in the league is they dont give up. Like last night they came back from being down 4-1 to win in ot, they really arent that bad. Id argue the blue jackets last year were worse especially considering how much talent they have.
