Most motorcycle riders blame close calls on “the other guy” or the road itself, not understanding or accepting their responsibility to manage the risks. These motorcycle riders may display their lack of understanding by insisting that “there was nothing they could do” when a car appeared “out of nowhere.” The fact is that most mishaps can be avoided with proficient motorcycle control skills and vision strategies for predicting hazards. Learn how to avoid many motorcycle mistakes with this FREE online motorcycle training!

When people tell me that loud pipes save lives, I like to remind them that deaf people can legally drive. Also, a blind vertical turn is called a blind crest.

I prefer this format to your livestreams. This video is far more potent, and information dense.

23.20 - dude is going way above the speed limit in that area - also the UK Highway Code says give way to buses pulling out

I'll never understand all these guys that rev bomb all the time, makes absolutely no sense to me... besides the other guy either won't hear it or maybe startle them...not to mention I'm sure it takes a toll on the engine reving it so high without a load...just overall dumb in my opinion...the time spent reving could be used to avoid the situation more safely...same with the horn...the only time i ever use my horn bike or my car is if the light turns green and the driver in front sits there even then i wait about five seconds or so then I'll tap the horn...but that's how i ride/drive...

My philosophy on having a motorcycle is if you have poor discipline with your patience, you aren’t riding a motorcycle, you’re riding a “murdercycle”. Lack of patience in todays society is more abundant than ever and it literally drives me insane 😵‍💫

Whenever I ride, I have three goals. 1. No surprises. 2. Treat everyone with dignity and respect regardless of the situation. 3. Avoid road rage at all costs.

Thanks for this video. I am an experienced car driver with over thirty years on the road but a noob as a motorcycle driver. My driving teacher has taught me a lot of things but this goes way beyond that and I think every rider, especially new ones should watch it.

General problem with most of these riders causing a close call is speeding a bit too fast for the conditions (Line of Sight, traffic, elevation, urban environment with T-intersections) that multiplies the risk.

never ceases to amaze me how people value their "right of way" more than their health or life, and thats what a high percentage of dumb accidents boil down too.

My husband is an aggressive rider. He gets road rage etc. I use to ride as a passenger until I noticed most close calls were because of him. I couldn't tell him different so I learned to ride. I always ride my own ride and try my best to notice dangers etc on the road. Thankfully because I ride safely I've been able to avoid what would've been accidents. I remember everything they taught me at the Harley motorcycle safety class. S.L.P.R plays in my head on every curve lol and Ron said "most accidents happen at intersections and curves" I loved this video. I agree 100% . Recently a car almost hit me and it was my fault for following my husband's lead. When we took a break I told him I knew it was a bad idea and I shouldn't of done it. But because I anticipated that a car was going to jump out I was on the far side of my lane. I was able to use evasive maneuvers to not get hit. If I would've applied the breaks the SUV would've hit my whole right side and slam me into the ditch. I was riding my Ninja and the car was a blazer!! No competition. There was 4 cars behind a tractor that was going 10 mph. My husband decided to pass them, being impatient, onto ongoing traffic lane. I followed but stood to the far right. I had a HUGE PUCKER moment and I was mad at myself for not sticking to my own rules. But its all about learning from your mistakes and to keep on learning because you could never know to much.
