My grandmother passed away two days ago. Sure it was a matter of deep sorrow for all of us but being an atheist in a religious bramhin family I'm not allowed to do a lot of stuff, I'm not mad about it though uts their belief so I'll let them go through it as they want to. However what I did notice among all chaos is that there's no consensus among believers about how to deal with their own rituals. Like someone came up and said I cant stay on your roof alone at night. Like fuckin what? I need some privacy to let my emotions out and saying that my grandmother's spirit might come to harm me, that shit is offensive.

Yes same thing was said to me. After her death she is enemy, if she comes in dreams kick her 😂 that's what told to me. Aside from the superstition I think it was made up so we can move on quickly that's the only logical explanation I could think of. Bizarre ideas😂

@@gamesong6600 well even if it was to help us move on, it's doing a terrible job. Ignoring problems by engaging in other work is something that I've been doing throughout my life, anyone who does that knows that one very fine day all that burden of sorrow is gonna fall on their heads. It's the same shit.

@@icursedkid acknowledging you are sad is the first step. But do not put same thoughts on repetitive loop, that's the biggest reason why people find it hard to get over loss,break-ups, depression, anxiety. It trains your brain to follow a certain pattern of thought process.
Whenever you feel sad, welcome this feeling acknowledge it and accept the process and move to different thoughts. Keep doing it,it will help you break the habit of pondering over same topic which is causing you anxiety, depression, sadness, fear, jealousy.
Not accepting feelings can overwhelm you, but putting them on loop will also overwhelm you and it is more potent as it's being done actively.
If a thought comes your car might get in accident, accept that possibility and thought and shift your mind to new thought else eventually you will be too scared to drive a car because you are also training your brain to think about accidents.
Then ofc there is always professional help, don't hesitate to avail them.

    I have crossed 60 years.
Its been 40 years since I became an atheist
I lost my parents and my brothers.
    It was hurtful
But I know we are mortal. One day I too will die.
People equate ethics and morality with religion
I have not become corrupt or cheat
I know folks who are religious and corrupt and bad people.
If religion gives some strength to cope with difficulties its ok
For me religion is false consciousness.

50:19 Paripurna Mishra writes, "should we teach native language instead of English in all schools in city." Madamji, jo city ke log English baath karthe hai aur likthe hai, vo log uske alaava ek ya do aur bhaasha bhi baath kar sakte hai aur likh sakhte hai. Uska converse true nahin hota hai usually. Even proper English language schools have Telugu, Hindi, Bangla, etc. as a subject (I say "proper English language schools" because most English language schools in India are places where neither the teachers nor students can speak or write the language fluently).
If anything, English language instruction should be improved, and people should be more mindful of how they write (grammar, spelling, capitalisation, punctuation, paragraph spacing, and not using unnecessary periods (like "hi......how r u....")). Full stops or periods, commas, etc. have a purpose. You are not supposed to use them as you like. Even when you leave a comment online, think of it as writing in any proper English language newspaper and do it. Make a conscious effort to NOT write things like "I didn't had anyone in my life" (correct: "I didn't have anyone in my life), "I has the keys" (correct: "I have the keys"), "the explanation was too good" (correct: "the explanation was very good"), "super speech!" (correct: "superb speech"), "having a science degree has nothing to do for being rational" (correct: "having a science degree has nothing to do with being rational"), "he may loose his job" (correct: "he may lose his job"), "the test was too much tough" (correct: "the test was very tough"), "don't tell me these stuffs" (correct: "don't tell me this stuff"), "I didn't took the vaccine" (correct: "I didn't take the vaccine"), "vedios" (correct: "videos"), "congressulation" (correct: "congratulations"), "I love your way to explain" (correct: "I love your way of explaining"), "Lets go there's a good movie" (correct: "Let's go, there's a good movie."), "hi....how r u..." (correct: "Hi, how are you?). Frankly speaking, marks should be cut off for writing in answer papers that way. Otherwise, there is no incentive to change. Unfortunately, many invigilators and teachers write that way themselves which makes it even harder to institute such rules.
Use online grammar and spell checkers to spot out mistakes till it becomes second nature. Read proper English newspapers. Watch English movies with the subtitles turned on. In order to improve, practice writing in fluent English instead of always writing in some form of pidgin like Hinglish (for example, instead of writing "khaake maza aaya", write "I enjoyed eating it" for the purpose of practice). Rather than saying "sorry for poor English", simply work towards writing properly instead of wasting time apologising.
The bulk of people, even those who have studied in "English medium schools" and also have degrees ranging from medicine to law in India, write horrible English, and you have to deal with it everywhere, from court notices and customer care chats to hospital websites and technical articles. Asking people to write properly becomes an annoyance, and every tactic of cultural blackmail ("angrej ka aulad", "macaulay ka baccha", "colonial mentality"), false allegations ("guys like you think English is a measure of intelligence"), default victimhood accusations of "elitism," and the same "Russia, China, Japan" crap starts. Maati Maatiki ade chettha raastu untaaru. In today's world, when the entire internet is at their disposal, people don't make even an iota of effort to improve their English writing, and they castigate those who can do it well instead. If you work in an official capacity in a law firm, a hospital, etc. and your English is not good, at least hire someone who can do the writing work properly. It's a job like anything else. I know that writing English for those who come from backgrounds where they have not had much exposure to the language is very hard, but there's no harm in saying, "My English is not very good; I need an English writer who can write well".
Also, what do you mean by "native language"? There are cultural native languages and cognitive native languages. The cultural native language of someone whose parents are from rural Gujarat but who grew up in an English speaking area in Bangalore, Pune, or Pondicherry might be Gujarati, but English might be his primary cognitive native language (followed by Kannada/Marathi/Tamil and Gujarati) because that's what he grew up speaking and studying in. It is no different than how Marwadi people migrate from small towns in Rajasthan to bigger towns in different states, set up businesses there, and the cognitive native languages of their next generation become Telugu, Tamil, Bengali etc. instead of Marwadi (which is still their cultural native language or "mother tongue"). People can speak different languages with different people.
Also, you are free to not enroll your children in English-language schools at all. Join them in Hindi-medium (or equivalent) schools. After all, the likes of Laxmi Niwas Mittal and Narendra Modi are from Hindi-medium backgrounds. They are successful and rich people. UPSC can be given in both English and Hindi and NEET/JEE are available in English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Many guys from vernacular medium backgrounds get top ranks in those exams. You are free to go down that path. But, don't blame Indians who have learnt to use English fluently for the pitfalls of those who haven't. People ironically go to the extent of writing "angreji ka pratibandhan kardena chahiye" ("English should be banned") on a website that's made and maintained by members of the English-speaking diaspora of the world (CZcams).
That being said, one must remember that rubbish and falsehoods can be written/spoken in any language, including fluent English (one just has to look at the religious rubbish that people from the UK and US write on CZcams). Aur main jo bol raha hoon, iska matlab ye nahin hai ki dusre bhashaao main nahin baath karna chahiye or 24x7 sirf English main bolna ya likhna hai. Sirf yeh hai, ki jab English main likhthe ho, dhang se likho.
39:15 "Nazar nikaalna" is something I really despise. Many people would have that one family member who will say "baapre, nazar lag gaya hai" and will proceed to do aarti in front of your face. It goes into the same bin as vaastu and astrology, two more things I despise (and which are also harmful).

It's well known that tulsi das was a poet, not some mathematician or physicist.... But we tend to forget that he lived in india... mathematicians everywhere, he could just go to any gurukul, pathshala or buddha vihara, and ask the scholars there to do the maths for him ... Remember hanuman chalisa was written in 17th century and the value of units of sun distance in chalisa is not constant...so even though it has the numbers, there's not much accuracy. And still the chalisa is pretty much not of any use at all in this regard.
