Sir, I have a really doubtful question that in DIAMOND CUBIC UNIT CELL..... We know that there carbon crystallize in fcc unit cell in which they are present at corners at also in 50%tetrahedral voids...... Now, if we want to calculate side length (a) in terms of radius (r) of carbon atom..... Then 1) by considering carbon on corner and in tetrahedral void, the relation will b 2r=√3a÷4.....But 2) when we consider one carbon at corner and another carbon at face centre, the relation comes out as 2r=√2a÷2...........now, my QUESTION is how is this possible to have different relation between a and r? SIR, I m really confused in it, please adress my doubt😕

Assume a body diagonal and two atom on that in each unit cell so that body diagonal length i.e.= root 3 a = 8r

@@thechemister The 2nd case, which I have mentioned is also right..... Then, why is different relation for that....
