  • Four electric kilns, cone 6, under glaze flower painted lamps and bowls, oatmeal glaze tests and Mastering Cone 6 glaze samples. Also how to fix glaze running off the bottoms by firing upside down.

      Where I'm located in north of Iran in a small town, I love pottery but never actually done it, only one person had the equipments for it and he sold everything and left the country sadly before I get the chance to try it. But in many cities they make pottery. I have only done painting jobs on pottery with acrylic paint.

    Watching you open kilns is as much fun as seeing the beautiful pieces you pull from them. The painted pieces at the end make such pretty lamps. Thanks for sharing all your kiln temps etc. It is beneficial to hear and see the result. Cheers!!!

      @@Vsmithpots Yes! I should have mentioned that too. refiring the mugs upside down was way better than grinding. Not only sitting level but it is a very unique look!

    It is confirmed you have big hands. Karen just went past the computer and said: " There's Freddies hands" Oops miss-identified.
    Wow again on your loads. The bottle with the mouse brown grey is a beaut.

    I really like the Lupin by themselves and I always think of Nova Scotia when I hear Lupins mentioned. Now I will think: " Vaughan's Nova Scotia Lupin Rendition."
    The Fake Ash end result was neat. Finishing off with the Temmoku Gold and Oatmeal was the grand finale.

    Thanks for showing kiln openings. Your work always stunning. I appreciate you take time explaining the glaze colors and technique. Enjoyed all kiln opens. Especially the underglaze painting designs and clear glaze kiln as that is mostly what I do.....just a hobby potter from Oregon

    I think your new painted pieces are beautiful! I don't think the red is too intense at all. They are very summery and cheery. Good job.

    This was a fun video to watch. Yes the test tiles joy was great to see. You mentioned it was a cone 5 firing but you said it was 2200 some tning degrees. I tbought cone 5 was 2167 degrees. I might be mistaken but you work is great. Thanks for teaching

      It depends on the duration of the firing and rate of climb. This firing was closer to Cone 5 1/2 at 108F an hour. The soak time will also effect the cones.

    Vaughan someone described to me that you have x 3 lots of glaze that will run at the base of a mug. The cover under the handle, the glaze on the inner handle and the glaze on the outside of the handle....but being an old pothead...you knew that!😁🐨 Greetings from Oz

      It is the thickness of the glazes that makes them run since I double and triple glaze some combos.

    Those lamp bases are very beautiful - loving the loose brushwork 😍 Also very jealous of the clear glaze - I’ve tried a dozen recipes so far and get nowt but milky, bubbly or crackly - experiments continue 😂

      I did show it at Minute 36.41secs. There is a lot in the video and easy to miss. My wife says I put people to sleep, as she always falls asleep if I show her one of them.
