Look At This: Mount Wilson Observatory

Sitting atop this mountain's 5,700-foot tall peak is the iconic Mount Wilson Observatory. Two of the three telescopes, the 60-inch and 100-inch, were the largest of their time in the world for decades. Today, however, only one of the observatory's three telescopes is still used for astronomy.

@Harry Zombie Because this is where Erwin Hubble discovered that 1) there are other galaxies in space and 2) that the universe is expanding. It changed the way we viewed the universe more profoundly than anything since Galileo.
