2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid tailgate assist/damper install... PROBLEMS?!

I installed mine in about 8 minutes. This guy just made this more difficult than needed

That's why you read the instructions. First you need to remove the tie down, second you have the strut upside down, the bigger part is supposed to go on the top.

Ya, that second weird ass nut piece could have been designed so much better but we gotta have something to make it interesting right.

I wonder how much FORD spent to design , manufacture and install those bottle openers that are at 17:06 ?
Why have a Bottle Opener there anyway ?
The bottle opener should be on the dashboard to be more convenient for the driver to open his bottle.

It's a combo tie down bottle opener.

The bottle opener should be removed because there's one on the other side.

I will pass on the tail gate assist . Not only is overkill for a light tailgate but you would be losing an important tie down for hauling full sheets of plywood .

Overkill, not at all I just replaced mine with a dampening strut. I replaced the tie down/bottle opener with a large d-ring. Works perfectly. Just because it isn't right for you, doesn't mean it's overkill for others.
