      Depends on many factors - corax white is off-white, but can be tricky if it is too cold and if there is dust on the cap - I haven't had any issues with it. Brand is also important - Tamiya does very fine primers for example, however that is designed to go under an airbrushed surface

    Amazing as always! You're one of the only really good tutorial channels I've found that does painting of fully assembled models, so I have to ask; how do you paint the details under the model's weapon? Most of my army is already assembled, and one of the big things holding me back from painting them is that I have no idea how to do the torsos with their weaponry in the way. (Aside from cutting the arms off, but I really don't want to do that...

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks - really it's about being careful - but one of the tips I would give is paint that area first then shade it, and leave it - that way you can be tidy on all the other areas - if you prime in a dark colour you could leave it dark as well - hope that helps!

    I have a question, for an army painter who might have a lot of models to chew through/not as much spare time to get to the level of detail you have by the end, when would you say is a worthwhile stopping point before moving onto the next model?

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for the question Valerie! The answer should always be what you are happy with and what you like - they are your army afterall!
      If i was looking to shorten this, you could leave off some of the highlighting - on the weapons, metallics etc and not go into as much on the red
      I hope that helps - I'd love to see what you create!

      @ThePaintingCoach  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for leaving a comment - I can't say I know why it's darker - two things pop to mind - 1. Is your primer coat darker and 2. Was the paint mixed well?
      Other than that I'm not too sure - sorry! 🤔

    • @tylercalzone9340
      @tylercalzone9340 Před 4 lety +1

      I actually used the mephiston red rattle can as my primer, I was worried about trying to cover black with lighter colors so I went that route. I also just tried putting a white over the red and then going back with the mephiston red regular base paint (not the rattle can) and it didn't really make a difference for me

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  Před 4 lety

      That's interesting to hear...I can see the spraybprimer being slightly darker (I've got some on the way for the army so will keep this in mind)
      I would test this on a spare mini to see if you like it, and you can shift the tone a little by priming mephison, then cover that with evil sunz, edge highlights would be wild rider and fire dragon bright
