      The reason I don't say it it's because it really doesn't matter. People get to obsessed with brushes brands. Most Kolinsky brushes are about the same, just buy them from a reputable company, avoid Chinese ones. Also you want as big as tou can handle, I don't anything smaller than a 0, and that is very rare.
      In this video in particular I use mostly Rosemary and Co Series 33 sizes 1 and 2, just because I felt like it and they are the best brushes for the price, other brands don't even come close.

      Load you brush a lot and use a LARGE brush, make sure to cover the area in as less brushtrokes as possible and let gravity and surface tension do it's job.
      Then absorb the excess with a clean brush, it's better that way. The paint will find its own level

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  Před 4 lety

      It makes no difference, all whites are almost identical.
      I personally like using Daler Rowney FW white ink, but White Scar, Ceramite White, Vallejo MC or GC White, Scale75 white.... All will work, just pick the one you like the most

      I have a high elf army myself but I won't do any videos on them. For several reasons, one is that old miniatures get almost no views and secondly and most important, I paint armies when I cannot record videos 😂

    • @camy252camy3
      @camy252camy3 Před 3 lety

      @@JuanHidalgoMiniatures no worries, I understand your reasoning. But it's a shame about lack of views because I'm part of several large old army communities and I know they'd love to see more older stuff being painted up in these channels. Especially with all the new techniques and skilled CZcamsrs these days. But as you say, must just pale in comparison to newer gamers and people on CZcams who are into new stuff.

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  Před 3 lety

      It's just what it is. Less people are likely to go into CZcams and look for "how to paint high elves" than "how to paint Lumineth" just because one army is 20 years old and the other just came out.
      All my armies are middlehammer, that's what I love but I also love painting the newer minis because they are just a delight to paint

    This video was awesome, maybe the One i enjoyed the most!! I have a couple of questions if you dont mind. How crazy would it be to try painting an army this way, and if i would want to paint the wraithbone leather in a bluish tone instead what would you recommend? Once again thx for your work!

      Thanks!
      This is honestly how I would paint an army myself. Do yes, I think it's doable.
      As for the leather, just paint it like the armour, that's all. I just copy the official paintjob as close as possible.

      Hello Ithlinne - I have used the 1 part Contrast Space Wolves Grey thinned with 2 parts Contrast Medium, I really like the blue ting to the white, it might take two coats but the effect looks "more white" then what I have gotten with the Contrast Apothecary White. I hope this helps

      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  Před 4 lety +1

      I just don't like it, I'm talking about pure blue of course. It's a colour that glazes very badly for Highlights as the only way to make it lighter is adding White into it
