I've had my drill dr for almost 2 years and never used it because I didn't know how. I finally used it today thanks to your video! I thank you sir! My snap-on man is not so happy!
I have the same model and really like it. One suggestion - use a black sharpie and coat the bit tip before sharpening it. You can then see that the whole bit was sharpened. Thanks for the video.
YOU HAD THE BEST VIDEO ON THE DRILL DOCTOR 750X. YOU A GOOD TEACHER ON DEMONSTRATIONS IN THE DRILL DOCTOR THANK YOU LT SAYS BAM!! HOPE TO SEE MORE OF YOUR VIDEOS THANKS AGAIN
@Langston Cash I've used the drill doctor for 10 years. It takes a while to learn how to use it it's a sensitive machine. Once you learn how to sharpen the 115deg the 118 deg and the 135deg. Your skill level went up to the next level. It takes time. To do it. Don't give up. It pays off good once you get it. It will put a smile on your face when you graduate from the drill doctor. And you'll get more work done. Have a great day sir. REMEMBER IT'S A PRECISION TOOL SO BE CAREFUL OF IT IT CAN EASILY BE BROKEN IF YOU WORK IT THE RONG WAY. SO TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND YOUL GET IT YOUR FRIEND LONNY I'VE BEEN WOOKING IN MY DADS SHOP ALL MY LIFE I HAVE A LOT OF EXPERIENCE IN THE METAL SHOP PEACE OF MIND WORKS FOR ME
While a particularly good video superfluous information was added. This video should have been under 4 minutes. I would also recommend that he drill two holes one before and one after sharpening to demonstrate the effect.
The chuck positioning is really not well described and I always thought the white mark needed to be aligned with the notches. No wonder all my bits got butchered. Good video
OK, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but following your instructions, and also from several other videos, I just can't seem to get a 135 deg angle. I'm following the steps one by one and it still sharpens them all to a perfect 118 deg. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Frustrating!
On my drill doctor the center fin position is marked as 118, and it has slots to the left with "+" and slots to the right with "-" but in your video you say to go to the right for a 135.
Dude! I consider myself a pretty smart guy… BUT you saved me hours of anger and frustration! The instructions for this thing are worse than IKEA… Couldn’t figure out how NOT to screw up my dead bits. Just seemed to make them worse… Now all my bits are nice and sharp! Thank you!!!
This machine is great for non-splitpoint. However, I could never get it to split the point properly. I see you couldn't either. Anyone know how to make this machine split the point correctly? Or is it not capable?
The eye will pick up if 135 or 118, if still uncertain a tip is to just simply add to standard nuts to each other and the angle you get will be 120 degrees, close enough.
I bought one for my self. Not too happy with it because: Critical chuck areas are not molded very cleanly. Stock diamond wheel is too rough. You cant buy anything above 220 grit. This is especially bad for small bits where 320 is nearly a must have. Otherwise its rather impressive once you figure out how it works.
@@TheHaloman17 you never use drill bits sideways to elongate a drill hole? I kinda do it all the time. Did it for a water line for dishwasher. Did it for a ethernet cable through the floor into the basement. Would be easier if the edges of the side of bit were sharper
We operate 24 hour/ 7 day per week open community workshop. At the time this video was taken we were open for any members to walk through, we had a mask policy because covid numbers were high, this was also required by city and state regulation for any public gathering space. The video instructor was following our policy.
I can sharpen bigger diameters just with hand pile or using sander, problem are small diameters like 1-2.5 mm which are very often wrongly sharpen from factory and it just doesn't work and this machine can sharpen these little diameters, so I don't need it. 😀 But for some diameters like 4-6 mm it could be usefull, because it's still too small to do it manualy, like it is possible, but not that easy.
I got the 750x as a present with excitement. The excitement wore off quickly after 8hrs trying to master the action of the cam rotation against the cutting wheel. I have concluded its a waste of time and drill bits.
Just saying … Some people who are giving him crap for wearing a mask, you do know that if he is sharpening a carbide tipped drill bit then yes you should wear a mask. Carbide tungsten and other metals if inhaled can give you health problems and scar your lungs
I’ve had my drill doctor for years and didn’t use it out of past trying and frustration and one look at this video and presto, success and success, thanks

Very easy to understand walkthrough! You saved me a bunch of time, thanks a lot mate!
I bought mine in 2016 and never used it. Watched this video and was able to sharpen a bit I was trying to use and it worked perfectly. Thank you.
where is your hand sanitizer and holster?
Thank you so much. The grinding noise reminded me of a bad day at the dentist!
Fantastic video, demonstration, and teaching!
Excellent Instructional video. Very helpful. Thank you.
Best instruction on this model. I was having fits before this video. Thanks.
Great instructional video! Thank you!

Nice explanation and to the point. Did not know about the 135° being off one tooth to the right for this setting!

Good informative video, thanks 😊
Great instructional video.
Don’t want to catch the coof in his shop with no one around😂
Good video thanks.

for 135 one notch to the right of 118, that was my problem, thanks for a great video
I like the older models. Used like a 3 inch grinding stone and the split points on previous models aren’t confusing

Does he look at the sharpening stone at any point? Really could've used that info
Just got one in the shop didn't wanna read thanks a bunch for the video
Glad we could help
How long does that diamond wheel last in one of those exactly?
Thanks!
thank you

How would you measure the angle on a 1/8 or smaller bit can it sharpen ?
.
Just GOT ONE & IT'S The Cat's Meow!

I notice the cutting edge is slightly lower than the back part of the flute. What am I doing wrong. Tried 2 different drill doctors
thanks, i was not gonna read that manual
You make it sound so complicated !
Don't know if I want to buy one now !seems like a 7:39 lot of work !

So far it’s eaten or destroyed 4 drill bits". Wonderful
I wish I could find a comparison between the 350 chuck and the 500/750 chuck. And why are you wearing a mask, but no ear protection?
what about sharpening the side edges along the shaft? don't those also wear?
Only the bottom face of a drill cuts

I need this machine just to sharpen my 19mm . Machine here costs $550
does the mask help spit from flying thru the internet and coming out my computer??
No it’s used to expose cry babies online. What else should he do for you? You want to control what people wear right?
PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY YOU HAVE A MASK ON IN YOUR WORKSHOP?

6:42 I like how you skipped the part of removing that useless cap.
Save your money don’t waste it on drill doctor upgrade to a vevor drill sharpener you can also do end mills.
For Not focusing on "saftey", I'm perplexed why you'd wear a face muzzle.
The bit misses the stone completely at every legnth
Why are you wearing a mask indoors?
This was recorded a couple of years ago during the covid pandemic in order to remain open to the public we were legally required to wear masks.
@@MakehavenOrg The city or state you reside passed a law requiring the mask and hasnt resended it?

No problem understanding him with a mask on; he must have had a reason for same.
Does the mask keep you from getting metal in your mouth ? 😆
leave him alone. His mom still packs his lunch on the short bus!
Amazing how hurt you guys get by something like a mask. Grow some
whatsapp with mask 🤧

Nice mask I’m out
What’s with the face diaper
couldn't watch a guy standing by him self wearing a mask.
Yet you could reply, what a tough guy you are. I’m sure it was a robot holding the camera
What’s up with the mask..lol
Whats with the mask? LOL sound is a mask muffle.
Sheeple mask? I’ll quietly exit, hit don’t recommend channel and find another video to watch. On a side note… good luck with your transitioning 😂
Hope he doesn’t catch Covid from the Drill Doctor. Believe the science they said.
The mask tells me all I need to know.
video about the drilldoctor is perfect. BUT Your mask is more than embarrassing
He looks vaccinated
Immediately stopped the video, I'd rather not learn from a clown that doesn't even respect themselves.
Take off the muzzle so we can hear you clearly.
But he might give himself a virus? I'm so confused
Yeah, breathe grinding dust. Our ears are full of shite.
Sorry can’t watch you with a mask on alone in the shop. Unbelievable 😢
I am not part of the mask religion. I wanted to learn how to use the machine, absent virtue signaling.
Hard to watch someone with a face diaper. Y’all ned to redo this video,
loose the mask why do you have one on?? you sound like you are under water
Why are you wearing a mask?? No one is in the room with you!!
The camera man...
Lol
I wonder if people look back and realize how ridiculous they looked with those useless masks on.
But I am going to wear a BS mask that is worthless and show my insanity while showing the drill doctor.
@@acabral06 And wearing a mask is real ignorance of actual science facts.
My thoughts exactly
Come on losing the mask
Wears a mask when he's by himself, brainwashing completed.
Omg take the slave mask off #billitary #jimminycrypto
