I am just now (2024) replacing the original battery in my 2019 Teryx. I also went with the lithium battery for mine but I doubt it will last as long as the factory one did. I use a Noco tender.
Another good video.... I always ride with a small booster pack because you just never know and there’s no other way to get that rig going if she won’t turn over!
Sounds like you get to ride a lot. You probably got a better battery for sure but damn that's high! I bought a 2001 Honda Rubicon new and the battery was good for about 9 years. I called Honda and they wanted $90, the local Honda shop said it was a gel type and much better than I would find else where. I should have known then😂. So of course I went and purchased a $65 dollars lead-acid battery. Huge mistake! It only lasted 10-12 months and then I purchased the $90 dollar battery from Honda! Sometimes you really do get what you pay for!!!
I like the seats in the Teryx4, the X4 are ok but the front seat on the 1000-5 is bench but the 2019 I rode in felt comfortable. Like the agressive look of the Teryx4, small bed but you never lose it to a seat., don't like the X4 short nose and seat bottoms are thin, guess u you could put a cushion under if needed that's probably what I would do out back on the pioneer. Like the ground clearance and tight turning of pioneer. I need to get to ride the Teryx4 and x4 so I can decide. But these 3 are about the shortest wheelbase (better for trails where I live) 4 seat and it's not even close! I have seen great deals online for each, if you are are willing to drive, that is unless you live close to one of these dealers who apperently make some sweet deals.
Lithium batteries are great for certain things, I personally would not use them for this application. While they have a lot of power and great power density compared to pretty much anything else, they are nowhere near as reliant to heat, over charging or over discharging.
My last motorcycle I traded was 4 years old with the original stock battery still going strong. I would disconnect the negative cable in the off season rather than a tender. I have never had any positive experience with battery tenders in the past. As far as batteries, they can be kind of the luck of the draw. Sometimes you get a good one and sometimes you get a rotten egg.
I have a 2007 Rhino 23789 miles. On 2nd battery from original. Ride every weekend. Still original belt. I feel I made a wise purchase when I bought it new. My next purchase WILL be another Yamaha.
Thanks for your video. I am planning on purchasing a SXS and am leaning towards the Honda Talon 1000 x4 with the live valve. Couple of questions for you, have you posted a video of your recommended items to travel with? I know that with everything else, cooler, spare, tools there isn't much room to carry much else. One item that interests me that I dont see people carry is a jack for changing your tire, I have seen that Super ATV has one for about $55.00 that comes with a mount that I would definitely have on my rig along with a jump starter/inflator combo and spare tire at minimum. But I know that space is at a premium on most rigs. Again, thanks for sharing, looking forward to moving out to the AZ and maybe Ill see you in the Dona Ana mountains...
Sounds awesome... I personally don’t carry a jack because as you indicated space is hard to come by I do carry a tire pump and plug kit which allows you to correct most situations that occur short of completely shredding a tire or having the bead break (seal) off the rim. Good luck and thanks for the views 👍🏻
It looks like all of your auxiliary off road lights far exceed the AVAILABLE output of the stator. If you were running at night with all the auxiliary lights on then shut the engine off, it’s conceivable that you wouldn’t have enough to battery to restart.
Have you replaced your belt? I am looking at purchasing a side-by-side within the next 6 months probably. Looking at the Teryx4, Pioneer 1000-5, and wolverine X4. I want to take the family and the kids are 7 and 3 so not having the big back seat isn't a deal breaker, the Teryx4 looks great but I have not been able to get behind the wheel. I've got to ride the Honda, just no seat time on the Yamaha or Kawasaki. What do you feel like it could be improved on the Teryx4?
If I could improve anything on the current design...1st less noise...Current Teryx is louder than most others on the market. 2nd insulating. The cabin due to the location of the motor receives a ton of heat....Last but not a deal breaker.....I touch more power....1000cc would be nice.
im in the same boat as you, my 2 sons are 5 and 19mos. Also looking at all the models you mentioned. Its a tight race for sure, but im giving the x4 the slight edge at this point. 10 yr belt warranty, good suspension, view over the hood, and geared nice for the type of riding ill be doing. That being said i still cant pull the trigger on one yet because the competition is soo close.
I tried all of the 3 machines you mentioned.... For the price and what you get you won’t beat the Teryx.... As well, it gives you plenty of storage and use of all 4 comfortable seats.... The rear seats in the Pioneer are terrible.... The Wolverine, while also a very nice machine, has next to no room for coolers or anything when operating in 4 seat mode.... I have 3500 miles on my Teryx and other then putting Amsoil in the diffs and engine I haven’t done a thing to it! Very nice rigs!
Good Info, Looking in to getting a T2 . Leaving Can Am. Dont know if the 2021s have that problem. That could have been bad if you didnt have cell service. "Thanx Fer Sharin"
Hi when you changed the battery did you have to remove the air box or did you go up from the bottom, having a hard time finding the battery you mentioned any info would be great Thanks Mark
Not sure if I completely understand your question. As far as the service life, I ran it for almost 2 years, and as far as I know the current owner of the machine is still using the same battery. So going on 3 years
I have an Odyssey in my Teryx. It's larger than the original and if your running a winch you will need the best battery you can get. Winching will suck the life right out of one.
The batteries that come out of these feel like the display battery’s they have at stores. It’s funny whenever I sell a deka replacement, they are literally like 2x as heavy

Make and show video of removing and replacing the battery
Great idea, unfortunately I no longer have this machine
I carry a air compressor and battery jump box under my seat?

I like the new lights, and the winch!!! Awesome!!!
My original battery on my 2009 Teryx 750 lasted 9 years. It was on a battery tender when not being driven. Always garaged.
Another great video. Thanks for making these. 👍

I have had my 2016 teryx4 since new, and I am just replacing battery this year and have never had one issue
I had the same problem with my original no name brand battery and had to replace it after about a year and a half as well

Being stranded is no fun, hope you got out safe
flushed the radiator after one year of use? your antifreeze should be good for 4 or 5 years at least.

23,700 miles? Original belt? Maybe on a golf course.... Ever been to Windrock?

@@pajamatime5750 ALWAYS best to use high quality fluids like AMSOIL, as the machines will run much farther down the road!

I was able to get 6 years out of my original battery. Just replaced it. It was a pain to change out!
Hi when you changed the battery did you have to remove the air box or did you go up from the bottom, having a hard time finding the battery you mentioned any info would be great Thanks Mark
Took air box off, however it can be done from the bottom from what I understand
@@47rhorvath thanks foe the reply Mark
Nice video! Two years in the YXZ so far...
😂😂 he says “cooler morning, 60F”. Let me know when you get done to -20.
Good to know. Mine is blue also
I'm out in El Paso and looking for new trails to explore. Do you have the GPS coordinates for these trails?
Don't use GPS..Sorry
Still on my original battery in my 2014 teryx
That is amazing!!.
Change it.
Can you provide an extended use recommendation of this battery?

@@47rhorvath I'm debating on a lithium replacement but wanted to hear about longevity. Appreciate it.

Hello from New Mexico
Brian Trujillo hello back 👍🏻
I'm wanting to get a side by side
Hmm, new lights, new winch, then battery problem, hmm.
get to the point bro shit
I've known atv batteries to last 5 years if they get used often. Kawasaki has crap charging systems
