    I just picked up my (white) KRX today. I’ve been in the hobby side of Jeeps since the mid 60’s and the business end since the early 70’s, and still involved in that aspect to a certain degree. From the early 70’s ATC’s, Quads and one SXS. I was ready to pull the trigger on a SXS last June until I found out the Kawasaki was coming out with their sport model for sure in October. I decided to wait and see and after way to much research (according to the wife) and lots of info from business associates in the SXS industry decided on the KRX. I just ran across your Channel ( and subscribed) and will be very interested to follow your experience. One last note, I eliminated the Honda from my search over a year ago, based on info from people in the industry. The problem is not running ramped, but let’s just say you’re definitely not the Lone Ranger with your Talon engine problem. Great vid to start the ball rolling.

    Like your choice of the new car. We bought one of these in November. Been real happy with it so far. Granted it only has 2000 miles so far but totally trouble free. At some point you are going to wonder if the belt temp gauge even works. We pulled a friend out of the boondocks up and down and over hill and dale for 18 miles in low range 4 wheel drive on the end of a Yankum Rope and never got the belt hot. The dang thing is a beast. If you have enough guts just point it and walk through it in low power. The low power option is your friend

  • @jadosa29
    @jadosa29 Před 4 lety +9

    Nice machine! I wouldn’t worry too much about the belt Kawasaki’s setup is a bit different from Polaris and Can Am and is typically pretty durable. The only downside is it seems to operate at a high rpm most of the time whereas the ones without the centrifugal clutch cruise at a lower rpm at least in my experience. It makes for a louder ride in the centrifugal units. Agree with you on the roof too, machines aren’t getting any cheaper that should be standard.

  • @dono4598
    @dono4598 Před 4 lety +6

    Hey Ray, Thanks for the update. Too bad with the Talon, I was really looking forward to getting a Talon myself but after your experience I was wavering. You are right, August is way too late, they should have just replaced your machine, not like they didn't have any sitting around. But enough about that. The KRX looks great, I agree, should have come with a roof, however, you are getting better tires with bead locks, better trailing arms full doors and a bigger battery. In my estimation probably about 2k up on that side? I would suggest installing a CVT belt cooling fan, nice that they included the CVT belt temp gauge. I'm torn still. Tried and true CVT vs. DCT??? Class is still out for me. Oh forgot to mention, the low power button reminds me of my OLD Isuzu Trooper that came with an "ice" button that you would use on icy roads, when the button was pressed you could stomp on the accelerator and the vehicle would move at a very controlled pace, no tire spin. It was great. Sounds like a function that you would use as you said in loose terrain where you don't want to spin the tires. Thanks for sharing, keep the videos coming and stay safe out there, this Covid 19 is no joke!

    They are not a sportsman or grizzly but not a yfz race quad same goes for the kawi it's got more power and speed vs a work utv but not same speed as a turbo or rzr. Rides best on market besides a very expensive can am and artic fox machines but also using good shocks.

    I'm in my 40's and have come to appreciate quiet trips. I'm used to my geared Honda atv's and dirt bikes where I tend to prefer to just lug a high gear for low rpm and exhaust noise. After much research I decided to give a 2020 wolverine x2 a try and its going to take some time to see if I can get used to all the extra noise a cvt has due to it keeping the engine higher in the rpm range to do anything. I wonder what your opinion is going from the talon to the KRX as far as noise especially for longer rides.

    @razorsedgeadventures6599 Před 4 lety +3

    Good review, but dang, what a sad situation that lead you to the KRX. I have a Talon X, and I'm sure that KRX feels like a limousine compared to the ride from the Talon! The Talons are very stiff from the factory, and I can't imagine why they made them so stiff. I've been told it's because of the federally mandated 25 mph steering lock test, but every manufacture has to pass that same test and most do it without making the suspension intolerable. I sent my shocks/springs off to Shock Therapy for the full Ride Improvement rework, and it's a thousand times better than it was. However, no one should be forced to go through that kind f effort and spend $1500 to get a ride in a SXS that doesn't rupture you kidneys! In fact, the Shock Therapy guys say the Talon has the stiffest ride of any stock side by side they've ever experienced! The KRX wasn't out when I bought the Talon, but had it been it would probably have been my choice since it's pretty much ideally suited for the riding I do most of the time! The only things that might have kept me from the KRX is the shear size of the thing that might have kept it from fitting in my trailers, the weight, which at 1900 lbs is awfully hefty even before you add any aftermarket accessories, and the fact that it is a bit under powered for it's size. I hope the Talon proves to be a good reliable machine, but they sure missed the boat on a few design elements! I'll be interested to see how you like the KRX after you've had it for a while!

      Love your Full Auto G3 video!!! I think you misunderstood my statement..."Only Japanese Sport side by side using a with a Wet centrifugal clutch in conjunction with a CVT" The KRX uses a wet centrifugal behind the primary which engages the CVT at that point. Belt on KRX is alway tight, (unlike most other not all CVT"s ) and does not spin until the driver hits the throttle and the wet centrifugal clutch will then cause the actual CVT to then spin and push power to the system at that point. I don't have that cvt problem with my 1k. When I hit the throttle the power is there right away and I have 2500 miles on the original belt. 1 of the problems with the krx is lack of power and bc of the clutch system and its weight, u don't have power when u first get on it.

      @@47rhorvath I do like the krx. For rock crawling and hill climbing and trails, I think the krx might do that stuff best. I'm still a big fan of polaris. I think they are the all around best machine. They might not do 1 thing better than another machine but for everything with out mods, I don't think they can be beat. I'd like to see some heads up comparisons between the 2 over a variety of things.

      Talon was a good machine before my nightmare began. So yes, it has a ton of awesome technology. I guess for me the entire situation left a bad feeling of uncertainty in my head... As far as Kawsaki, my previous 4 seat Teryx gave me almost no issues. One of those admittedly caused by me installing lights that drew to much current and drained my battery.

    You mention the plush ride and the clearance. I agree total until the spring sag out and you lose your clearance, ride quality and bottom out your adjustments like mine did. Save your money on accessories. You will need to purchase springs soon. The seat hardware, sliders are wobbly and junk. Clutching and belt is great. Nice video.
