I have the same parallel as that Fedorov but with Patrick Roy. Bought at the expo because I thought it looked great, knew nothing about those cards before! I still think you guys are a little too harsh on Epack. It is definitely my favourite sub-community in the hobby, I find the people there really easy to work with for trading and buying. Specifically for Ultimate, there is the "ultimate chase" every year on EPACK, where users get points based on cards they obtain from the set and there is a leaderboard. The winners getting many of the patches you're talking about. I don't really get the outcry from people that are upset the card wasn't in a physical box, I don't really get how it's any different than a box being distributed in the States far away from me in Canada where I'll never a chance to open it. EPACK gives access to people who don't have card stores, or even people who have mobility issues too.
Appreciate the feedback and you make some good points. Can see how it adds that extra element and does drive people to interact within the community. Yeah IDK probably a mental hang up a lot of us have about cards not being in physical boxes...it's a tough one for me (Josh). Do you like the idea of ePack exclusive releases or would you prefer it stays how it is?

I would prefer there to be physical boxes as majority with allocation for epack as they do with flagship. There are definitely lots of legitimate criticisms about the epack platform, watering down of some cards like Jambalayas and Metal-X as you've talked about too. I saw the 1/1 outburst yg for Edvinsson was pulled on epack recently, I actually like that they are in there because it makes me actually feel like we did all have a chance at it! It wasn't in some box in some dealers store thousands of miles away from me, it wasn't stored in someone's closet as an investment, it was available 24/7 waiting to be ripped by anyone who has internet access and a credit card. That's cool to me. Definitely understand the disappointment of not actually holding it or pulling it with your own hands. That makes sense to me too.

There is definitely hockey at the national. There will be at least a few tables that are exclusively hockey and a very good amount that is partially hockey. There is even a hockey only trade night. I think your best bet is to not limit yourself to buying/trading with ONLY dealers.
I'm sorry Phil but booklets are cards, they are two individual cards linked together. The Cup Monumental Patches are some of the most sweetest cards in the hobby and some of my personal favorite "cards" in my PC. Peyton Manning is one of the top 3 best QB's of all time and has 2 Super Bowls like his lesser brother Eli. Peyton should be ahead of Crosby. I'll be at The National Wednesday and Thursday, can't wait!
Hasen't Upper Deck been in a lonnng lawsuit battle for misleading collectors of what is in products, by shipping break channels loaded boxes? I mean I've totally noticed a few break channels showcasing new product and ALWAYS getting a case hit type card in the box they're showing.
Hilarious how ESPN casually omitted two (!) Olympic gold medals in Crosby’s CV.. I guess an American-centric publication would rather forget about Vancouver 2010..
Vassy is a stud of a goalie. Bob, Saros, Fleury, Swayman, Oettinger, are all awesome, too. I see people buying Askarov since he's projected to be the next big thing.
I think for Askarov, being traded to a bigger hobby market could help. You'd assume the Preds will move him at some point since they just locked up Saros.
I've been on junk wax era kick, fulfilling cards I chased as a kid. 90-91 upper deck is loaded with legends. Pulled a Pavel Bure young gun from a fresh unopened box and sent it to psa. Psa returned the card and sent it back saying it was undersized. What is the best way to check centering if I wanted to send some of these cards to be graded?
@@hockeycardsgongshow Overall, I would say the hockey card scene was decent. The prices tended to be well above comps, especially on the higher end stuff. If you are looking solely for hockey cards, it may not be worth the time and expense depending on where you are traveling from.
I've got a good hockey movie for you guys to watch (not Phil he doesn't like hockey movies cough cough Miracle On Ice). It's called Mr. Hockey (obviously about Gordie Howe) it's a well done movie and something the whole family can watch.
Love the show minus loudmouth. You guys have great chemistry, no need to add a hack like that. Guy says Toe Blake only had 598 points, yeah ahole in a 6 team league that played 70 games max against 5 other teams.
re: ePack hits. To me it is no different than cases/boxes/cards being sent to the various distributors. I see ePack as a form of a "distributor". In Canada it would be like complaining that specific shields were available from Grosnor stores -- but my LCS uses Universal so I have no shot at that shield. Should I be upset that shield card is not available in product at my LCS? And then add in the USA vs Canada aspect. Should Americans be upset specific hits are not available in the states? This all assumes the x% of random cases being sent/distributed to ePack -- similar to a% and b% being distributed between Canada and USA.
I don't think that it's nobody cares about Adam Fox, I think that when you're asking more for Fox than Brian Leetch cards...I'd rather put my money towards Leetch cards
