  • First rockounding day for me this year. Finally not too cold, snowy or wet. First beach took me awhile to find anything good. But, towards the end of the first beach and next two I found more. A couple really nice fossils were found at the third beach.

Oh yeah, great day out there. Cool boardwalk and views up to the beach. Peaceful sounds with the waves crashing. Thanks for freezing your butt off for us. It would be cool to see some of those sliced up and some tumbled. Thanks for sharing your fun journey Shawn! I see all the black sand there, gold panning, I've never tried. Beautiful rocks today, you found so many pretty ones. Those fossils are pretty, great colors.

Yeah, there's always a couple spots on the beach with black sand, always love to look at it and sometimes wonder about gold panning. Maybe one day I'll try my luck at it. I love this park. Its fun to go hiking, bird watching as well as rockhounding. Favorite place to swim too. Thanks for watching, Nicolas.

Hello, Cherry! I was so happy to be out there again....with no snow! Lol. Was just a tiny amount of ice. I get so excited for awesome fossil finds! Definitely some nice jaspers and darker ones I think are chalcedony, they do take a nice shine and resemble agates. I got some rocks done out of the tumbler. I had one of your agates in there, and it actually fluoresced green a little bit, maybe fluorite in there? Just gotta edit the video today or tomorrow. Thanks so much for watching. Have a nice week. 🙂

h Great little trail to the beach. You found some pretty rocks even with the amount of sand that was being deposited by the waves. Nice fossil find. Interesting rail lines on the beach. Those waves are really pounding that wall. Sweet find at 25:55 Two magnetic rocks, really neat.

I'm going up to Michigan's UP to look for basalt, copper, epidote, greenstone, datolite, agates, and other cool beach finds in August and September. This time, I am going with a metal detector to check the basalt for copper and silver 👍
