Thank you Rob for sharing this information, we notice that some masks to get rid of fogging problem, need multiple washes even after burning silicone on the glass. Now I understand why.

My favorite defogger is baby shampoo. With what you're saying maybe that will be good for helping clean it as well?

Baby shampoo is just like any soap, not much different. However, it does help with not stinging the eyes of babies, same for adults.

Just curious when putting the mask in the dishwasher do you use the soap or just run with hot water?

have had 2 viper mares masks and this was the exact issue with them, only after a long time do they stop misting badly (misting despite using spit/baby shampoo etc)

Just have to keep repeating the cleaning over and over until it's sorted.

Wow that is such an annoying problem. It's annoying that manufacturers can do this without consequence, since consumers have virtually no way to trace which suppliers are screwing up their masks. My friend is coming spearing with me for the first time next week, and buying a mask beforehand, and I dread to think of him fogging up in the water. I will be sure to let him know to minimise contact with the silicone. Pro tip to any readers: my favourite anti-fog is baby shampoo in a travel spray bottle. Truly no more tears.
