  • RV is one of the modern icons of Motocross. We are very similar in age and I followed his career from a relatively unknown amateur all the way through his incredible pro career. I have always wanted to have RV on the show, but I am glad it took us this long as we have actually got to hang a bit over the last 6 months. He's a legend of a bloke and a really fun guy to hang around... I hope that comes across in this show! We talk about Ryan joining BluCru, why redheads have the most championships, if he retired to early, how his speed would stack up today, and even though it is kinda old news now, we talk about the Ando / Jett situation and what it means for the sport.

    Imagine if they done a “knockout” style race.Start with a full gate then every lap last place is eliminated til the final 2 riders and have it a 2 lap battle for the win. That would be awesome for a Netflix.

    Ticket prices are through the roof they are making boat loads of money all teams should be getting an equal cut of the gate and TV contracts just like the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB

      That’s your fault for getting scammed. It’s also your stadium that makes the prices WITH the feld brand. I paid 62$ a person and we could see the entire track.

      I had no idea tickets had gotten that high. They certainly weren't that high last year. I was lucky enough to get free tickets this year. I wouldn't have gone otherwise if I would have had to pay that much.

      It wouldn't have been that bad but feld uses ticketmaster and each ticket had 40.00 in fees I didn't get scammed they were purchased through the official Supercross site but I agree it does depend on the stadium these were in SLC

    The problem is Coombs, AMA and feld, they are afraid of losing control. If they really wanted to grow the sport as soon as they sign the deal with Peacock, they should have immediately signed the deal with Netflix. This would have brought in more of the common person not just the hard core fan that is a rider or racer themselves. With a larger mainstream audience from a let’s say Netflix type show it would be much easier to gain larger sponsorship and exposure as mentioned by RV. That would’ve gave a huge monetary help to the sport. Which should be put toward the riders, privateer and factory. But more toward development programs for the sport to grow. The sport needs a larger gene pool in the main stream public.

    HOT TAKE! While I do believe more revenue towards supercross would be a great thing. I am somewhat glad they didn’t do the Netflix show. In my opinion, when something goes mainstream it becomes kinda lame in the sense that you get a bunch of people involved who don’t really know anything about the sport AND claim that they do. Perhaps that was phrased poorly but I feel like most who really have a passion for their sport understand. F1 “Drive to Survive” was sweet don’t get me wrong and did great numbers in all aspects (as if they needed more $$$ lol) but idk it just became kinda lame to me after it went mainstream. In ways I’m happy moto is more lowkey, but also at times I wish people knew more about it. It’s a slippery slope for sure, but I just think I’d be kinda mehh if all of a sudden people were geekin over supercross/Motocross.

    • @kurtheidelbach
      @kurtheidelbach Před 26 dny

      It's a complete package. Do you not watch coverage on any other major sorts? That's why things like the F1 on Netflix has been so successful. Go and watch a Supercross race from the 80's and watch one from today. The coverage isn't even comparable and is in a different league today. There is a ton more to a sport then just the simplistic event itself. By the way a bunch of MXGP riders would rather be racing here.

    • @lizzydog5728
      @lizzydog5728 Před 25 dny

      @@kurtheidelbach No other Sport ignores the Event itself? I understand there's Promotional Considerations. And Everything else that goes into A Televised Sporting Event! But nowhere else do they ignore the Event itself. The Problem imho? RC and Bubba are just two simple guys that rode fast. They are not "well spoken " by any stretch of the imagination. Do you actually listen to what Bubba "tries" to say? He loses the thread on what he started out to say. And drifts around never completely finishing a statement! LOL! RC just repeats the exact same things every race! That's because he doesn't describe the only thing that changes? The Racing! Analysis or Breakdown is for after the race is complete. Or in-between. But definitely not in place of describing the Race for Fans at home? We can't see what he See's! We are counting on Race Commentary to describe the racing and add some colorful action words! If you pay attention? You will notice We miss most of the race.RC's Race Commentary sounds just like he does when your watching his podcast? Or any other time he's doing analysis! It seems people really don't care about the Racing? If they did. They would notice we are just listening to RC's Personal Opinions and Analysis Talk Show! MXGP is Perfect! It's worth twice what I payed. I just want my Favorite Riders and decent Race Commentary! Take care

      @@lizzydog5728 😂😂Very obvious you don’t watch very many other US professional sports. Watching a basketball game now and they have the same overall objective. Not just “the game” itself. That’s boring and doesn’t bring the viewers. Of course RC isn’t in the caliber as some very high paid announcers. He has also admitted his shortcomings and is trying to improve. JS on the other hand has an extremely high approval. AC will be in the booth taking over for RC soon anyway so you will have something else to whine about.

The older I'm getting "core" doesn't mean as much as it once did and also mx/sx is close to the bottom of the "motorsport totem pole".
