His music makes me feel so happy in a way where I want to cry when I have my headphones on and I’m alone. I associate such good things with his songs even though some of them remind me of people who I wish I didn’t lose and I’ve realised that every time I hit a lower point in life I come back to his music to find comfort and it works, it lessens the pain for me. I hope everyone is doing better than I am right now though ❤️

i used to not be able to listen to mac's music (especially my kind of woman) for about a year and a half because i listened to it alot during some really tough months in my life when i was undergoing a lot of bullying so my mental place wasnt in the best state. this past week or two, i've started listening to his music again and im officially reobsessed without feeling super sad. it brings me joy instead :)
If I have to describe Mac Demarco as one word I would say nostalgic; all of his songs make me feel like a vivid memory of my past that just ended up abruptly, they just give me the feeling of a period of my life that was not just happy but unforgettable, like they are my safe place
It's the analog sound. He records his songs on old reels and tapes. That's something that FL studio can't replicate

However, now that I’m an adult, I listen to him all the time! I can’t thank my brother enough for introducing me to this genre of music 💕💕

I love his personality, he is just so much fun to watch in interviews, this music video really shows that side of him, I saw him live a few summers ago with my music producer friend, honestly one of the best performances I've seen, a no bull shit show, he told the P.A guys to stop the light show and just turn up all the lights so he could see the crowd, rare for a musician to do, I wanna throw my friend some love as we've been through a lot together he's heavily influenced by Mac, try searching Lonely Gimmick - Beaches ,you may be in for a surprise and he would love to hear your opinion

I remember listening to this during the lonely quarantine days until I met my girlfriend. Pretty crazy how depressing some of these songs sound to me considering it was a time of pure loneliness.
