Lol but seriously, what is it?
Man I remember the first time I listened to this album. It was seven months ago, the summer of 2020, and I had never been more stressed about university. One night I got high off my ass and played the whole thing through, just vibing to it. Didn't have any other thoughts, just Oncle Jazz. I come back to this when I just need to chill out. I'm going to be okay.
Hey man, i hope you'll have a great life full of happiness.
u are going to be okay :]
that sounds like such a vibe ngl. hope you're well and doing better :)
Everything will be alright, and everything will get better, there’s no doubt in that :)
Currently doing this too man i’m gonna make it out fine
The way she says "oncle jazz" is just adorable.
man.. this band got sick bassline in majority of their song... blessing for bass player

This album got me through hundreds of hours of homework and studying. I really appreciate this masterpiece of an album
True
i'll steal it for this purpose now 👀
It doesnt have too much distracting vocals and it focuses on instrumentals a lot so its great for that.
Same, I'm supposed to be studying right now
Not me studying and listening this masterpiece at the moment😁📝
I genuinely think this is one of the best albums of the last 30 years. Absolute modern classic
Hey you might like The Doublejumps if you like listening to Men I Trust
Couldn’t agree more! I first listened to this album when it came out and it was all I played that year and every single they have been releasing has been incredible too. Every time I revisit this album I always find something new about it I appreciate, it’s like a minimalist funk album and I definitely see this becoming a classic for sure
This album has been my at home quarantine jam for a few days now, it's basically on repeat.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MUSIC BAND!
Yes. They are so fantastic! I definitely bought this album.
I felt that and you're right! 🌺
The crazy thing is that they give out their music digitally for free.
i feel terribly and strangely bad right now because i've been ignoring this band so hard during all these years. This is the first time I listen to them and they really feel unique.
There almost too unique so its hard too listen too it.

If everything goes well, in 4 months I'll be graduating from university. Something I used to believe I wasn't capable of achieving due to my inability to focus.
Ever since the first time I listened to this album, I've been playing it on repeat whenever I had to study. Especially on sleepless nights before exams.
It's always been an awful struggle for me to focus and concentrate, but listening to oncle jazz makes it easier. Whether it's placebo or not, it makes my life better. Thank you ❤

Cha cha real smooth

Yes it has. Men I Trust, Beach House, Still Corners, The Marias.
You guys heard of Jack Stauber?
“Say can you hear me” is just pure serotonin
I've been listening to this album for a couple years on youtube, and it's part of a long playlist and the names just don't always register with me. So I had no idea that I already loved Men I Trust when I saw them opening for Khraungbin and they were so amazing. I came home and sure enough it was the oncle jazz band haha.
Wow!
I love their music style it reminds me of my grandparents band my grampa passed away this reminds me sm of him
I'm not gonna lie, I clicked on this because of the picture, and I'm so happy I did cause my ears are blessed dood
I am dead sure this album in years to come will be reckoned as a timeless classic. I haven't felt this way about an entire album since I first heard an entire Pink Floyd / Police (Zenyatta Mondatta) album end to end.
I agree :)
This is a really cool album and all but comparing it to Pink Floyd in terms of quality or “classicness” is a bit much
Man, this voice, these bass lines, these keyboard sounds… Amazing !
I got 3 minutes in and i already experienced a vibe overload. This is a fucking masterpiece
Can't believe Oncle Jazz is turning 1 year old tomorrow, 2019 pre-covid vibes

This album is everything I could ever want.
this band has been on my recommended for a while now and i've been resisting the urge to check them out. today autoplay made the choice for me. i think a part of me had a feeling i'd fall in love with their sound, and here i am experiencing auditory romance like a falling for a high school crush. something transcendent i felt was inevitable as soon as i let my guard down.
SUCH great music! Definitely gotta get this record! 😄
So agree! It's on my Christmas list
WHAT IS WRONG WITH CZcams RECOMENDATION??? IT IS A BLESSING FOR MY EAR !!
I remember listening to this when it came out and I was stressed from so many nursing assignments and tests. I couldn’t sleep. So I listened to this one afternoon after class and fell right asleep. So peaceful. Fall of 2019
Fiero GT has some guitar playing that sounds exactly like Don Felder. Wild!
thank you Men I Trust, i'm staying up to listen to this, i'm almost at the end and "Pierre" just broke my heart, in the this is so sad yet so beautiful way, but really the whole album is beautiful, hope i can see you guys live someday.
Get the fuck out here! This is the absolute best scene in horace and pete.
you ever find yourself walkin in an airport , head down in ur phone tryna find some jams to deal with all the people and without realizing you wind up on one of those flat escalators. just straight gliding thru the spot. that's what this albums like.
I just discovered the best album for academic studies. So stress-relieving
I don't know how many times I have been back here...
i love this so much im crying
Wow do you like japanese jazz too?
Made my day. I love how they remastered the singles. Sounds even better now.
Lívia Corcino i think there are subtle changes to the mix and mastering of the singles. I think Norton Commander sounds more spacey and atmospheric than before and the other songs sound a bit cleaner and smoother too
I particularly liked more the singles alone, like "Tailwhip", "You deserve this" and "I hope to be around". 'Cause to me, the singles sound more natural. In the album they're more artificial. I dunno. Maybe the new drum gave a new feeling to it that I didn't like that much
@@Warclock1 so I'm not crazy.. i did hear some changes that didn't need to be done. For example on i hope to be around in the verses on the original version it sounded more spaced out and in this version they got rid of that.
The only improvement would be the sub on the kick
@@chuuweec.8080 Yeah right! That's exactly what I thought!
I'm trying to get used to it, but I think it won't get over.
Maybe gonna have to go back to singles when these tracks come in. Jk
But the overall album is fire!
34:57 dont mind this just a timestamp for me for possibly the best 4 back to back tracks ive ever heard
this album saved me from a very hard moment of my life
Bassline on Norton Commander is awesome
nothing will ever be as smooth as this entire album
The different elements that are added into each of these songs that make them unique are just ethereal.
This album is undefeated, reminds me of better times before work or college. That 2020 summer where time just went really slow, the long car rides with my friends and with the widows down just blasting this albums. No worries and no care in the world. Summer nights that just felt like they would never end. Really makes you cherish those moments, just good mems overall ;(
Such is life, my young friend. There will be plenty more of those moments too - only if you choose to believe.
Years later you'll be looking back at the days from right now. That's why you gotta live in the moment instead of dwelling in the past and create new memories instead of trying to relive old ones.
Listening to Men I trust while wandering by the sea and admiring the sunset.
I like that it's more musically complex than most dream pop
This is no mere "dreampop" album, it exists outside of conventional genres and cliches. This is a masterpiece, consisting of pop, jazz, funk, rock & folk elements married together cohesively to create a new sound. The "men i trust" sound!!!
@@AGoNYC That's really close to what I think, as well. They kinda don't fit the Dream Pop genre itself anymore. They're more than this. Haha
More of a Homeshake/Mild High Club copy than anything else. Really nicely and tightly executed tho.
Leandro Sosa Imperio Yet from my listens, they’re better than both those bands. Maybe I haven’t listen to the right songs by those bands, but it was very easy to find Men I Trust songs that are great.
@@RainerRilke3 This is far less psychedelic than Mild High Club, and is fairly different from most of Homeshake's stuff. It takes a pretty uninformed mindset to say something like this.
"Found Me" is a great song. That guitar reminded me of many things.
That intro gives me such midnight marauders vibe ❤

There´s no better way to fight depression and lonelines these days. It keeps me hopeful. Much Love from Spain !
