Thank you for your extremely educational video on Quality Improvement in Nursing and the PDSA Cycle. In this video, I learned that Quality Improvement in Nursing entails a continuous and ongoing effort to achieve measurable improvements in the efficiency, effectiveness, performance, accountability, outcomes, and other quality indicators in services or processes that achieve equity and improve the health of the community. Quality improvement operates as an operational process within health services, enabling individuals involved in care delivery to constantly monitor and improve practice. I also discovered the PDSA Cycle (plan-do-study-act) devised by Walter Shewhart and W. Edwards Deming defined continuous improvement as a systematic procedure for acquiring important learning and information for the continuous improvement of a product, process, or service. The PDSA cycle is an ongoing process that is always striving to enhance quality. The PDSA cycle usually precedes the Quality Improvement in Nursing.

The importance of Quality improvement is the framework used to systematically improve care. Quality improvement seeks to standardize processes and structure to reduce variation, achieve predictable results, and improve outcomes for patients, healthcare systems, and organizations. The Plan-do-check-act cycyle is a process for a service improvement. In Plan find and note down oppurtunities, For Do is implement the solutions, Act- implement and improve the process and lastly for Check- study your observations and findings from your testing phase. This is a guidlines and very helpful to base and implement. The video is very detailed and informative to healthcare professionals.

This video is very informative regarding quality improvement in nursing. The Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle is a systematic approach to continuous product, process, or service improvement. I've learned about the principles of QI and the roles of a nurse. I also understand that nursing quality improvement aims to raise the standard of patient care generally as well as patient outcomes. In order to improve the quality of care, changes must be made in the areas identified, then the implications of those changes on patient outcomes must be evaluated.

I appreciate your excellent instructive film on the PDSA cycle and quality improvement in nursing. I discovered from watching this video that quality improvement in nursing refers to a continuous and ongoing effort to achieve measurable improvements in the efficiency, effectiveness, performance, accountability, outcomes, and other quality indicators in services or processes that achieve equity and enhance community health. Health services use quality improvement as an operational method that allows those involved in providing care to continuously assess and enhance their work. I also learned about the PDA Cycle, which was developed by Walter Shewhart and W. Edwards Deming defined continuous improvement as a systematic approach for obtaining critical learning and information for the continual improvement of a product, process, or service. The PDSA cycle is a continuous process that works to improve quality. Often, the PDA cycle comes before Quality Improvement in Nursing.

After watching the video, I have learned so much about the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, which is a systematic approach to continuous improvement used in many industries, including healthcare, education, and business. The PDCA cycle is a four-step model that helps individuals and teams improve processes, products, and services. The PDCA cycle encourages learning and continuous improvement by providing a structured approach to problem solving, testing, and implementing solutions. Furthermore, the video above addressed the goal of quality improvement in nursing, which is to improve the overall quality of patient care and outcomes. Quality improvement entails identifying areas where care can be improved, implementing changes to address those areas, and assessing the impact of those changes on patient outcomes.

After watching this supplemental video, I really learned a lot. This topic is new to me and doesn’t have any idea regarding Revolutionizing Patient Care: The power of Quality Improvement in Nursing. The video specifically talks about PDCA (Plan Do Check Act) which is a systematic process for gaining valuable learning and knowledge for the continual improvement of a product, process or service. The video also talks about the Principles of QI which are consist of 6 principles and 5 Alternative to QI which is are discussed thoroughly in the video. Second part of the video discussed about the Quality Improvement of Nursing which is design to improve the quality and safety of healthcare delivery. For me, this style or approach is very helpful especially in healthcare system. I’m glad our clinical instructor shared this video to aid and supply additional information regarding the said topics.

With the help of this video, I was able to learn about what PDSA is all about. In the video, they explained that PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) Cycle also known as "Deeming Wheel" and the "Shewhart Cycle", is a cycle that can help doctors and other healthcare professionals provide improvements in patient care through the use of controlled experimental approach to learning and assessments of change. I also learned through the video as to what Quality Improvement is in Nursing and how important it is. To sum it up, Quality improvement prioritizes safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care. Improving healthcare quality and safety is a growing priority for the nursing profession and healthcare systems as a whole, as medical institutions strive for efficiency, lower healthcare costs, and ensure high-quality patient outcomes. With that being said, I came to a realization that recent ongoing health challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic have brought attention to the significance of healthcare quality and safety, as healthcare workers were challenged to deliver exceptional, quality care while protecting patients, families, and the community.

Through this video, I was able to learn about the PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) Cycle or also known as the “Deeming Wheel” and the “Shewhart Cycle. This cycle allows healthcare workers to focus on improving a particular program and I have learned that, with a controlled experimental approach to learning and assessments of change, the PDSA cycle can assist doctors and other healthcare workers in providing improvements in patient care. The PDSA approach is a crucial tool for the future hospital because it promotes individual, team, and organization. On the other hand, I also learned a lot about the quality improvement in nursing as well as the different roles of the nurse in quality improvement. Since quality improvement is used to improve care, it helps the healthcare workers to enhance the performance of the organizations, systems, and patients. All in all, this video has been beneficial to me since I learned a lot.

In this video, I have learned that Quality Improvement is the systematic approach that is guided by data to improve the quality and safety of healthcare delivery. It helps to identify and prioritize areas of improvement. When QI is used or applied in nursing care, the patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, communication between healthcare providers and patients, and quality of care can all be improved. The QI in nursing involves on review data of the patient and/or other medical data, then evaluate nursing performance or analyze process used to provide care, then using the information, they work to identify areas of improvement and highlights of areas in excellence, then after that they will formulate goals to improve patient care and work environment. It was mentioned and discussed that the role of the nurses in QI are to monitor for early recognition of adverse events, complications and errors; Initiating deployment of appropriate and timely care to aid patients in these situations. Nurses can collaborate to enhance patient outcomes, promote health and wellness, and create a culture of continuous improvement by utilizing evidence-based practices, data analysis, and teamwork.

In this video, improving the quality of nursing care requires continuous and continuous efforts to make measurable improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, performance, accountability, outcomes, and other services and processes. I learned that Quality improvement is an operational process within a healthcare service that enables those involved in healthcare delivery to continuously monitor and improve their practices. Also discovering Walter Shewhart`s his PDSA cycle (Plan-Do-Study-Action), W. Edwards Deming defined continual improvement as the systematic process of obtaining key knowledge and information for the continual improvement of a product, process, or service.

  • @paulajeshanikhasamontina-nj4nn

In this video I was able to learn about PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) Cycle or also known as the “Deeming Wheel” and the Shewhart Cycle. This Cycle is an iterative, four-stage problem-solving model used for improving a process or carrying out change. Internal and external customers should be involved while adopting the PDSA cycle since they may offer input on what works and what doesn't. As the customer defines quality, it makes sense to include them in the process whenever it is appropriate or practical to do so in order to maximize consumer acceptability of the final product. You could wish to construct a customer chain to help identify your customers if you're unsure of who they are. I also learned about quality improvement which entails about a type of systematic approach that is guided by data to improve the quality and safety of healthcare delivery.
