Then we have to look at which factors determine outcomes (patient satisfaction survey data, organizational priorities, performance improvement metrics, mandated reporting data, financial and safety measures, and employee satisfaction measures. NSIs can be used as a quality indicator to compare care from one facility to another. National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators was established in 1998 by Press Ganey Associates; it is the tool that helps to improve the nursing system and its positive influence on patients and the functioning of the healthcare organizations.
