Well, it depends which ones you compare - 2600k was definitely better than let's say 4570 and 4790k was better than 7500 or 8700k was better than 9500 and so on...
Happens all the time. I'll see someone but an i7 4770 for 150-200$ meanwhile the new i3 for 100$ bnib , blows it out for the water. the "i7 Tax" is definitely real. It will definitely be abolished once Ryzen cups have more stock.

The 2013 has an i5 3570.
Nowadays it has 16GB of Dell (Smartmodular) RAM and a GTX1650.
The 2014 one has an i7 3770.
At the beginning of 2020 we bought an RTX2060 for it. It has 32GB of Corsair ProSeries memory, a WD Blue SSD and it is our main gaming system at home.
Its a pretty solid 60FPS@1080 system.

The top mount power supply is essential in the Opti, it pulls heat from the case when the power supply runs. The 80mm fan pulls the cool air out of the case from the door vent because we can't have cool air in the case now, can we?
I have one of those Dell cases, I cut a hole in the metal in the front behind the plastic front panel and put a 92mm Noctua intake fan and a Noctua exhaust Then I put an B460m M-Atx motherboard, i3-10100 w/BeQueit PureRock Slim, 16gb of ram, 1650 Super, and a Evga 500w psu, I also removed the Hard Drive cage and used Velcro to attach the SSD's. Me in a similar build with instead an i5, but an i7 4770 (Haswell) and a Zotac RTX 2070S Mini XD (Yes, the 2070 was overkill, but I want something to ideally last at 1080P). Also tip for cable management- you can shove extra cables into the spare DVD drive. Helps a smidge, but overall the case has no cable management options, and yes, CPU bottlenecks galore. Is super cool though when you can downclock and undervolt the snot out of the GPU and still get the same performance.
FWIW, the packing peanuts they used are 1) corn based 2) biodegradable and 3) technically edible. Cheetos Puffs are suspiciously similar to them.
Oh shid lemme just sprinkle cheese powder on my packing peanuts next time
Honestly, cable management is soo~~ irrelevant in a normal chassis.
It is important only if you have a glass panel.
you're not wrong, but even as a pc builder for a dodgy ass pc store/sex shop back in the late 2000s we always had decent cable management even on our shittiest PCs. this seller just has no pride in their work.
@@H31MU7 Sorry, complete waste of time. He did the necessary: binding the cables! You don't need anything beyond that!
The gash in the side of the box is most likely from the clerks in your local post office needing to cut open a giant cardboard box with a razor knife to get to the packages inside. The gash looks to be too clean of a cut to have been from another package on it. That's why proper packaging is a must when shipping. But if you do it properly, the outer box can look like hell and whatever's inside comes out without any issues
My dad bough a similar specked system, ex corporate lease HP/Compaq/ Win10 though with stock PSU (PTY connectors).
I upgraded his RAM from 4GB 1033 single channel to 16GB 1333 dual channel and an 850evo SSD, Radeon R7 260x and it still bottlenecked the CPU (i5 3450?). I even used a fresh Win 10 licence free from bloatware, tried Win 7 (tried Ubuntu & Debian though poor deivers) and couldn't get GPU utilisation above 40-45% in many games.

I made a similar model into a gaming PC with an GT 1030 in it as the power supply and mobo was made only for Dell. It was an model where it took 12v power and converted it on the motherboard. No way of getting a more powerful power supply. I at least made an attempt to put a new paint finish on it as it was abused by it's previous owner to the point where along with major scratches it had an dent on the side panel. That now has a new life with it's buyer, which I sold it at a fair price with an SSD and AX WiFi as well.
