For somebody who doesn't know the technicalities of ammo, Porter did a great job explaining it for dummies!
Yes he did! Joe is not very savvy in the reloading world and was able to follow along haha
Great info!. .355” bullets are generally shied away from in most 38/357 loading data mainly because of the difficulty in finding the sweet load for accuracy.
It can be difficult to find that sweet spot! I'm sure we will have some more follow-up videos on this down the road!
Great idea to save costs on ammo!
Gotta save on ammo any way you can these days
I was doing the same thing only with pulled and blem 9mm HST bullets. I had issues with bullet pull using the 147s, the 124s worked fine though. The issue is getting the crimp just right and getting them to seat just right. I decided to give up and same them for 9mm, it would probably work better with cast or a different jacketed bullet, the HSTs have a cannelure but its not for crimping its to prevent jacket seperation.
Gotta love handloading! There is so much experimentation you can do to develop whatever load you are needing!
@PearceBrothersGearGuide it's definitely been an adventure I'll say that. I finally got the HST bullets to work in 38 and 357. Had to put the case mouths in my 9mm sizing die just enough to get the bullets to fit correctly. Worked up some 147s in both 38 and 357, so long as there are no issues with bullet pull I'll try the 124s next. I'll let you know how it goes.
Awesome, let's us know how the progress goes!
