@@ajeettv The first part was more of a joke as I am a geology graduate and people mistaken it a lot to our discontent.
Yes, I am talking mostly about the last two people although the last girl was absolutely atrocious at this. It's not that I am offended more like disappointed. I don't know position of every country in Asia or Africa, especially the ones which are never mentioned anywhere for whatever reason. But there are countries in the world that will get mentioned in the news all the time or shaped the world history.
The fact that you never even bothered to look at the map to memorize continents is pretty disappointing. I don't really look at it like it's only american thing. I can find plenty of young Europeans who have the same level of ignorance. You have to remember, the same people vote, the same people spread their opinions all over social media, but failed to grasp something from elementary school. It's not even offensive it just worries me. It indicates that education system failed.
@@afgncap Someoneâs lack of knowledge may or may not be a reflection of the failure of an education system. At the end of the day itâs not easy to force someone to learn and if they do learn it may be to pass a test but not something that they will retain the information very well if they donât come across it again often. Personally I am highly skeptical that any American completed elementary school without anyone ever teaching them the continents. Also keep in mind what is taught about continents differs place to place. In the the UK and the USA, North and South America are considered different continents. In much of Latin America that is not the case. So who is âeducatedâ? Also I watch the news but these outlets usually donât show a map when they discuss a country which is why people might know a general vicinity but not an exact location. I have watched news about the US on networks from other countries. They typically mention what state something occurred in but that wouldnât necessarily mean viewers understand where exactly that state is within the US. iJust speaking from my own personal experience and what Iâve observed in the USA is that students within the same school are not subjected to the same level of learning requirements. I had to label countries in South America, Western Europe and the Middle East in my geography classes along with major rivers and mountain ranges. Thatâs probably why these people know Egypt is considered part of the Middle East because it was the ONLY African country we studied in my schools. And all 50 states. Any other knowledge I have about African countries didnât come from a classroom. I blame parents if their kids are not as educated as they should be more than the schools.
In school, we had to learn all the countries and the names of their capitals - even though I am from Europe, I still forgot(years passed) and can confuse some of them and itâs even worse with Africa and South America.

As an Australian my Asian geography is possibly better than the average American but Australia doesn't have a lot of states (and territories) so we don't have to spend much time memorising them. I wonder how well Europeans and Asians go with geography, since their regions have more complex borders and their news would be skewed towards the local issues and languages... Yet it's easier to travel between countries in Europe but harder for Australians. It's more common for us to visit Asian countries for our holidays... And yet many of us are still ignorant about the countries we visit. That possibly depends on what sort of tourist you are.

Dunning Kruger effect
People who don't know much, at least think, they know where everything is, so they know a lot. At least they think so.
And smart people are sure that they don't know everything, so they often underestimate their own knowledge.
she is so ignorant, that she is totally unaware of just how ignorant she actually is
Perhaps best of her class, but not realizing her class was real bad. She had 3 out of 11. She kept asking for clues, guessed around, looked at the interviewer for non-verbal information. Gave herself credit for New Zealand, but her first guess was about 3000 kilometers away from that.
With a score of 2,7 she performed most poorly. But she tried to shape our view of her, like she did better. So how did she gave herself a 5.5? Because she's that dishonest.
I like that they cut away the European part of Russia from the Asian map but didn't include it on the European map.

I like how the editor (?) or whoever did that missed Egypt and Chile on the previews xD
Some of them were actually impressive.
Surprise surprise, the girl gave herself the highest score is also the most ignorant on geography
Thanks for watching expecting more videos soon hit me up I've I have something for you đđđđ
she is really dumb
And those are the people who wanna be SO WOKE and know everything and tell other people how to think...let that sink in.
i just wanna be like Christina's geograpy, perfect.
Lol geography was always my worst subject đ this was fun to do though. Someone buy me a globe đđŸ
The European map is missing Russia and Iceland. And Turkiye is an Asian country (though also transcontinental).
Russia is also an Asian country, it has only a little bit in Europe.
@@Kwstas_Vagias Probably the asian territories of Russia will secede in new countries in the next decades.
@@Kwstas_Vagias European russia is the largest and most populous country in Europe lol
@@paulienn5854 77% of Russia is Asian what are you even comparing? lol
Also there is no "European Russia" as a country the country is one and is called Russia you can't say "European Russian as a country is the largest" because European Russia is not a country.
@@Kwstas_Vagiasmore 83% of Russian population are Russians - white Europeans
I canât look at these kind of videos. They just make me madđ
I like where the editors put Egypt at 2:23 ;)
Actually they did it pretty good, I didnât expect them to do my continent of South America so well, so thumbs up guys!!! đâ€
⊠you do realize we live right above you right? We are required to memorize all South American countries in grade school. As well as Canada. Most of us know the country like the back of our hand and anyone who doesnât probably flunked out of school. đ
Subcontinent*

The places i do not know are the middle Africa, the north west of south America and i mix a few countries in middle east and Balkans i know them but i tend to mix some of them.

You are all amazing and you are all welcome in Brazil! đ
Pink girl in the beginning: vastly overestimates abilities
Pink girl in the middle: gets zero right
Pink girl in the end: vastly overestimates her performance
Funny how the map makers simply decided that Bolivia is a Chilean territory... đ€Ł It's actually Brazilian đ
3 mistakes that bugged the hell out of me:
1.) They put Egypt's marker in South Sudan.
2.) They included Turkey in the Europe only map.
3.) They put Chile's marker in Bolivia.
Nobody helped that poor girl who thought the map of just Asia was all of Africa and Eurasia đ
as an American who knows a lot of geography, I am horrified
Flex is sooo funnnyyyy đ
Omg!! this is the old set-up that they used in the french, german, spanish and english languages comparison video
Thanks for watching expecting more videos soon hit me up I've I have something for you đđđđ
Overall I think they did well. But Flex, youâre my girl, but Iâm sending you a globe đ for Christmas đ You had us literally âall over the mapâ.
"They speak Portuguese in Brazil"
The first time a foreigner doesn't say we speak Spanish, hahahahaha đ§đ·đ§đ·đ§đ·
many people even say you guys speak âšbrazilian âšđđ
@@katii1997 I never understand why, hahahahaha
Most USAmericans where I'm from would definitely say that Brazilians speak "Brazilian Portuguese." In the same way that we might say "Mexican Spanish" or "American English"... Essentially differentiating the altered versions in the former colonies which inherited their languages from the countries where the languages originated.
Flex, the woman in the long pink cardigan, scored 3 out of 11: so a 2.7. Indecisive, asking questions for queues, guessing around looking for non-verbal information from the interviewer. She mistook the map of Asia for three continents all at once. Stumbling about massively. For thinking she would get a good score, this was strange to watch. "Oh, Africa!" when it's South America. She was right about: Egypt (with some problems), Brazil, Chile. She was wrong about: New Zealand (only got it right after her first guess, which makes it the wrong answer), Mongolia, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Spain, Greece, Uruguay. Weird, that she didn't keep score well either and was way too positive about herself. As her manager: check her work!
For a country were people love to travel you would think they would know the basics of geography I remember having to memorized all the countries of the world and their capitals when I was like 8 .
Sometimes I think Iâm the only American who is actually good at geography đ
How can you say that, based on Joseph having all countries right, plus giving extra information. And based on the comment section, where many have geography as their hobby.
