@@kingsclubtennis Racquet Preparation is sometimes late and should be early with the ball.. Make sure you keep your body OUT of the pathway of the incoming ball when receiving back the returns. Sometimes you just stand all flatfooted on the court with your body all parked in the way of the incoming ball. You cannot hit the ball clean or finish high if your own body is blocking the pathway of the ball with the racquet then you cannot extend fully into the ball. The result is a being late with cramped finish, bent elbow and balls down into the net or losing power and hitting weak and short sitting up in the court..
On Slice Serves you can bring the arm down to carve the ball to slice it, but on flat serves there should be no arm dragging when hitting the ball...

@@germanslice You're absolutely right. I've been noticing more and more of that cramped finish and it's not good. Been focusing a lot more on light feet and trying to find my timing and spacing. Thanks so much for the comment. My serve is a whole other issue. Constantly battling with DFs there. Auf Wiedersehen!

@@kingsclubtennis Its like my video game I've been making on my computer. You always gonna get ambushed sooner or later.... But first you have to stop sabotaging yourself on the court with bad timing with the ball..
Your timing is terribly late with the ball sometimes .
Because you and your friend hit the ball all flat and you're using late timing on these fast flat balls so you are crunching each other all up in your swings on the court when you should be starting off your swings more earlier with the ball the moment the ball is still crossing over the netcord instead of just waiting for the ball to first arrive to you why start the swing more earlier? So that you don't get all squashed up in your swings when hitting around the ball at 100 mph..
SERVING: I saw a couple of doubles faults in this set. For this video didn't show the whole match so I can't tell how many doubles were done. but If you want to improve the ball toss practice doing the one leg serve drill. This drill will show you where the bad tosses are because if the toss is bad you will feel off balance when hitting the ball off one leg.
Do not make the mistake of hitting every single ball toss. that is how people develop poor serves. if the toss feels poor or off let it drop to the ground and retoss the ball back up again.

what a nice friendly game, actually enjoyable to watch!
some tips on the backhand return (since you lost a lot of points with that)
    1. Square up your racket face more; racket facing above the net more instead of the sky.
    2. remember that the slice motion is up to down, not back to front.
    3. Strengthen your shoulder, elbow and grip (especially grip) before you hit the ball.
    4. Bend knees a bit more, transferring more weight on the right leg (front leg).
    5. Try to make a 90degree (or realistically 120 degrees) angle with your arm/elbow/forehand when slicing. Racket should be 90degrees perpendicular to your forearm as well. Think of it like you are trying to make a square wall with your shoulder, arms and racket.
    6. Focus on the ball intensely as you hit it with your slice backhand.
Great game and nice slice serve on the T! Keep it up!

I appreciate the information! I've definitely noticed those things since watching this back. In particular I want to find the ball contact cleanly and I'm wondering if I need to scoot back a bit from the base line. I tend to push the line there which gives me less time. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Cheers!

There's the normal slice backhand which uses the high down to low or all across the body for its motion and floats and hovers the ball which is slow, can fall weak and short if you dont' get enough net clerance hight so around 3-10 high over the net Dosen't really thin the ball all out and sometimes it puts hits thick ugly slow spin which takes forever to get down the court because of all the slow hangtime in the air. So you can get some flat bite but if you try to rip with it, ball will pop up in the air. Contact Point is usually the middle. So this version is more a control slice.
But the one I like to use is located more higher up on the racquet at the bottom edge which is the Low to High Motion Version which drives the slice like a big flat penetrating groundstroke drive using pronation of the edge of the racquet instead of brushing the ball manually from the middle so I get more pace, more depth, more penetration and much more flatter deeper lengths through the court. And there's no float on the ball. So the ball dosen't hang or float in the air but just zips all down through the court.

i think it would be nicer if there was more talking aloud of the tactics between points, as i would guess that's what the mics are for. although i also know it's hard sometimes to talk and most of the time self talk can be just a few words/phrases

I like that idea! I've seen some other channels incorporate that before. I'll start trying to do some testing in the next videos! Thanks for watching and leaving the comment!
