- From July 1986, a rare ABC Network "Family Album" featuring the full version of their catchy "We Belong Together" theme song from the 80's along with scenes of ABC stars and their families, and also several news staff members including Hugh Downs. This aired during the Liberty Weekend coverage.

I can remember waking up on Saturday mornings. And this would come on
Aretha and Leon Russell! Great stuff!The Queen of Soul and The Master Of Space and Time. Voices that certainly belonged together on this song!

Very beautiful promo here. This was made during a transitional era in ABC's history; this was the first promo made under the Capital Cities/ABC era.
The ABC O&O stations family underwent expansion at that time, incorporating four additional stations from the Cap Cities era (WPVI, KTRK, KFSN, and WTVD). These new additions join the existing quartet (WABC, KABC, KGO, and WLS) that have already been ABC-owned stations from the get-go.
I think this was the only ABC promo music from that time period that didn't have "ABC" in the lyrics.
The ABC News team shot... placed immediately before the shot of the future owner of the network.

PROPHETIC promo for ABC If you ask me. I think this ABC 1986 promo predicted the merger between Disney and ABC in 1995. It's not just a shot of Eisner, the future owner of ABC, at the 2:24 mark. Look at the clips at the 0:57 mark, the 1:44 mark, and Disney's Side kicks at the 2:14 mark.
1:44 - I think that was Robert Hays, He starred in the TV version of "Starman" that aired on ABC around that time.

@BR01ish: Nope, it's Morgan Brittaney (spelling) at 1:06 the TV show being promoted at that time was "Hotel" staring her, James Brolin (on the boat) and Shari Harper Belafonte at the beginning and the end (on the street 0:33 and 3:17)

yep, Hugh Downs. James Brolan (Hotel) on boat. Bonus, who can name the little asian kid at 2:15 and the tv show (I can't). The disco chick in Red is Morgan Brittany. It is so hard to try to remember all their names. Joan London on the horse drawn carrige. Shari Belafonte on the city street; Kirk Cameron on the bike; Lucile Ball and Gayle Gordon at the end, that was the shock value moment, Life w/Lucy 1986.

I'm hooked now....A lot of Marianne Hartley (what show?); Who's they guy in the rocket ship and the black Jeep? Charlton Heston playing tennis (The Colbys); who' the guy w/Eisner?; Judith Light with the piano player; David Brinkley, Tom Brokaw & Ted Koppel in suits; Robert Urich in the tea cup; Baba Wawa on beach; Sidney Sheldon (producer) in center of Dynasty shot; The guy with the guy, don't remember name or show, they were making a big deal of it at the time.

Ok, well, I see that I'm *not* the only person whose first thought was "y'know; it would be *smashing* to annotate that, and identify everyone in it, and what they were in or who they were related to". :-)
Though I also see it's all a year old.
My other thought was: "this is a *three and one half minute* network TV commercial". Ok, it's a promo and in a 4 hour special, but stlll. I'm quite certain that's an all-time broadcast record; Hallmark Channel doesn't count. :-)
