@@azathoth2067 Foreign policy dictates that a foreign power can enter a country to get rid of terrorists, as they threaten international peace. Suffice to say, Miraak fits the quota, sending trained mages to cause property damage and attempt to destroy the local guardsmen.

Well, it is an option for the Alternate Start mod, if you're actually interested in playing as a guard.

I just did a playthrough as the Helgan headsmen. Just force equipped his clothing and the headmen's axe as if he escaped.
How did it go?
@@G-Forces The headsmen's axe has fantastic reach and does a decent amount of damage. Overall a fun run.

@@Bruh-bb6ey Main quest first, then dawngaurd (vampire), then dark brotherhood then I started a new characters. I have a problem with making new characters 🙃😅 I have hundreds.
see, that's how a true rpg should work. you should get to choose how you start. not that you HAVE to start as a prisoner. that's why i can only play with alternate start.
A few ideas:
"can you beat skyrim as a horse whisperer" You can only attack with Arvaak the horse.
"Can you beat Skyrim as an identity thief?" Not a great title, but the idea is that you drop all your items every time you make a kill, and swap it for whatever the person you killed had. It forces you to not have much of a consistent skillset. You could do something simpler like just the dawnguard dlc.
"Can you beat Skyrim as a flame antronach/pyromancer?" You can only use flame element destruction spells or shouts.
@Joshua Kelly Yeah it just seems like a pain in the ass. Do you loot each body in a group or just the last one you kill? What if you forget? What magic can you use, if any? It would be really fun to watch but annoying to play. Maybe I could make a mod to simplify it.
@@tiazoh you swap to the last person you kill in a group and you can only use magic that the person you killed can use
You should be more specific with the arvaak thing. Can you use any magic or potions, as to get him you would need some restoration or illusion.

It'd be super easy I'd say, considering they get nice stuff to beat em with I'd think. Pretty sure they get a flesh armor spell and a few potions/mace and some restoration magic! Makes are uh, nice. Hehe

@@homers1999 yes but you only get two pieces of armour. Steel plate boots and gauntlets so you wont even come close to the armour cap with out using exploits.
@@laatdovahkiin7405 man imagine needing an armor cap when they use alteration and get things like whatever that high level alteration spell is! Also healing magics so I'd figure it wouldn't be too difficult!
This has absolutely slain me. Giving context to every stupid line the guards say sent me cackling every time. I love the unique challenge runs as much as the more serious challenge ones, and this seemed a good blend of the two. One of my favorite ones so far, great work.

I would like to see a challenge something along the lines "Can you bear Skyrim the Dragonborn dlc as a gray beard"
That would mean to me that you were only allowed to wear a time of the gray beards (or a similar robe since they are immortal) and only use the shouts they teach you. And of course the once you get during their quest line.
I think that would be very interesting imo.

Nope. it has a Solider Start, but no Guard.

@@dani007a I've used New beginings, the ad-on for Live Another Live and many of the Loverslab starts, and i do not recall seeing a guard start.
@@emeraldnoir7099 I just double checked, but, yeah, it's in the miscellaneous files for Alternate Start. It's the example they use for people to create new Alternate Starts.

Clueless guard absorbs dragon soul, defeats age-old eldritch warrior-priest, then vanishes. Last seen complaining about an arrow that they had taken to the knee.

I feel the need to point out that I watch this and the Illusion challenge video while leveling up Illusion from base as an Imperial and hit 100 before the video was over by casting Muffle with both hands. Thanks for the tip and the vids.
I remembered watching this a while back, so a few days ago, I decided "Hmm... Imma do this but with a twist!"
Now I have an entire save dedicated to *sorta* being a Whiterun Guard. I have fur gauntlets, more steel arrows, an IMPERIAL bow, and I've upgraded my equipment, but I haven't really changed much besides that :)
I got to thinking... maybe I'm the dragonborn and I just don't know it yet!

Entertaining video, though you can get 4 of the 7 Black Books before the Temple of Miraak one, the Tel Mithyrn one, and the Dwarven Ruin one. You can also free all the stones before the Temple adventure itself.
Edit: nvm I just saw you using the method either way this will be here for people to use.
A slight pro tip if you have a dagger in your off hand and some other weapon in the main hand it will think you're dual wielding daggers and have the attack speed that comes with it while keeping the damage of the weapon in your main hand what makes this crazy is if you get the shout elemental fury which increases attack speed for unenchanted weapons
watching these videos makes me want to play skyrim after not touching it for literal years.
I always become a werewolf before going to Solstheim. Makes the whole dlc a lot easier, since the entire dlc was actually written around the assumption that you're a werewolf

beat the base game without using any perk points. You can level up and dump into hp, stamina or magika, but no assigning points to any trees.

"Supermonster called a Lurker", "super powerful and they take a lot to take down", funny, I always thought they were the weakest big enemy things in the game, but then again I'm a stealthy archer that rarely goes into any battle alone, so maybe I should reconsider my perspective on the game :D

The only time I figured out you can return with the things at the same health is when I was about to finish the dlc and will now help a lot in my future runs
One challenge that I’m trying, that I want to see how you would do it, is Skyrim with only Daedric Artifacts (barring potions and food)

Hey Brandon, great video as usual! I have an idea (probably very unoriginal but keep it under the elbow for a rainy uninspired day I guess) - why wouldn't you try beating Skyrim as Brandon? Like, show us how you like to play the game, after so many hours of playing it constrained by rules?
EDIT: Just realized I could give the same advice to MDB, except he did feature his favorite Pokémon sometimes in challenges already :-)
He should wear a necklace to one of the gods. They often wear those.
In every imperial hold the guards carry imperial bows except for Whiterun since they decide to back the imperials yet they carry hunting bows. ( normally only stormcloak holdguards wield hunting bows )
Also in Whiterun there are no female guards which also meant it is an imperial hold since only stormcloak holds hire female guards.
It would’ve been easier if you went into the Jarl’s Quarters. There is a display case in front of the door with a guard shield and armor.
The guards do have decent statues and perk from the get go
I think the one rule that could’ve been bent for this challenge is the ability to improve your weapons and armour at a blacksmith. Sure, the guards don’t have improved weapons or armour, but that’s because it looks like nobody is smart enough to actually make their armour and weaponry better. So the excuse could be that this guard is a bit smarter than the rest, and would enhance their equipment when possible.
Love to see try a challenge in one the of the Mass Effect games. Pistols only or something.

An unenchanted wooden sword, right?
Because there's a well known, easy to pull off exploit that allows you to enchant things with ridicolous amounts of damage.
With an enchanted one, it's 100% possible and possibly easy as hell, even on legendary, if it's not enchanted... well, good luck.
If those Whiterun guards can take down a dragon, so can we.
