My last VR experience: "this is so pretty... so beautifull... why haven't I played like this before? this is the future!" * pukes *
yes
Lol so true, I be like damn why did I get off *gags* oh yeah that's why 🤢
Weak weak
You’ll gain your VR legs after a week or so.
Weak I dirrahea my pants every time I play any vr game
Imagine getting the death animation where the dragon bites your head and thrashes you about like a chew toy or being launched into space in VR...
You know, if they actually animated those scenes.
being launched by a giant into the stratosphere must feel awful... -__-
They don't those animations don't exist but it's extremely easy to do regular hits on enemies just swing your sword or something and that's how fast it takes its your speed of how fast it takes to hit them again which is really fast
@@AragonBattleBorn I tried to do that never happened I don't think that is possible in VR
@@cats2927 yeah later on I saw up is not jump get launched on one of his videos...
But he could of made that happen...
But honestly I've played skyrim a ton.. but I've only ever been launched like 4 times.. So it might be rarer then we think.
@@AragonBattleBorn It happens at the start all the time then it got patches and the giants couldn't launch you so the fans begged to get it back and now it is just rare to happen I think
i enjoyed how you made your motion sickness into a plot point
I feel like I’m going to loose my lunch every time the black shaders appear.
"It's not a bug, it's a feature" moment
The Bow is OP in VR
It is like a Machinegun
I am heavy weapons guy. And this *takes bow* is my weapon.
@@NotAHologram It takes 5000 septims to fire it for 12 seconds *boisterous laughter*
@@eduardcaisin9769 guard: (takes my stolen bow)
“WHO TOUCH MY BOW?”
True, but you have to become good at aiming. My bow likes to act weird and not raise high enough lol. Or shoot at far as normal.
That's good. It fires as fast as you can, which kind of works well I think.
Some devs: add decent and usable VR mode to existing titles at no extra cost
Bethesda: do minimal work, ship for full price again
Fr and for some absurd reason they seem to think we should applaud them for that
"It's like using shouts in a no shout run. It's the same kinda rules." Wow, calling out Mitten Squad there.
Yep.
Nope.
For future reference: Block one ear only to help diminish the nausea from motion sickness. Earplugs usually work fine.
Does it?! I will have to test whenever I do another Fallout or Skyrim VR challenge.
@@G00SEIT Yep, you trick your proprioception.
Essentially you get dizzy and nauseous when your senses contradict each other. In VR you see and hear yourself moving, while you also think of yourself as moving. Your proprioception, however, knows you are still.
With adequate control of your breathing and something to trick your proprioception you can avoid it by essentially sabotaging a specific sense.
@@G00SEIT I'll admit it doesn't work for everyone 100% of the time, but it's a good quick fix for most people.
I do play the VR with only one ear plugging and the other one out so I can hear my surroundings maybe that's why I don't get nausea
non-vr games that have been converted to vr are often nauseating to play!
Yup, so far phasmaphobia is the only non-vr game i've played that was actually well made in vr (i guess vr support at launch helps because they could design vr and non-vr at the same time)
The forest definitely applies here
I've only played skyrim on the PS4 VR and it's not bad at all
@@pogfishfruity3731 -can’t block an incoming blow by just holding your sword in front of it
-can’t pick up a fork off of a table
-can’t just drop a sword and pick up a new, better one. Must use menu’s
-there’s no IK, so you get floating hands
-can’t drink a potion by taking it off a shelf and trying to sip it
These are all things you can do in any RPG style VR game on the market. PSVR is probably also the worst way to experience any VR game
Me:expecting goose to call esbern esbum
Goose:calls esbern berns
He always calls him berns
If only the war hammers moved as fast in the non-VR version
Major respects for Doing this all in VR, especially against the spiders. Like jesh😖
Cant say for goose but it's not as bad as people think. I dont enjoy enormous venomous spiders but I have two ebony axes so it doesn't matter
"key items like getting through doors"
No pun intended?
A few mods fix the hit boxes, and help a bit with the nausea
"And I grab everything: pot..."
*Insert joke here*
The motion sickness is harder in those games because of the field of view. Most games by Bethesda have smaller fields of view. Which leads to being more easily made sick.
It's one of the reasons they refused to patch 76's field of view which was causing the same problem. They said they've always had smaller FoV and weren't going to change it...like wtf
And people have complained about it since at least Morrowind. Hopefully with Microsoft there might be a tiny chance Bethesda will get kicked up the arse and made to fix their damned games.
@@peytonmac1131 we can onlt hope...but it's doubtful lol.
I feel like Bethesda just added VR hands to the character and called it a day rather than realising that it takes a lot more than that to make a proper VR game there’s so many things that are wrong with it even if the Motion sickness wasn’t a issue there’s still many issues that didn’t translate that well into VR like for instance you get wood by clicking the button rather than using a axe on it, two handed weapons become much more op since you can swing it faster than even the one handed swords allow in the regular non VR game and you can basically turn your bow into a submachine gun!
@@troll4life662 True. I suppose it may have taken a full over haul of the game engine to play it in proper VR, but still. Only one hand in Fallout4 VR? No wood chopping or door opening except by button? They charged full price for the VR experience, not just an add-on to the existing game. Come on.
Peyton mac I’m not defending them I’m saying they are a bunch of lazy bastards that can’t be bothered actually doing all the work that goes into VR in the first place I mean I might of if it was a free dlc for skyrim special edition or if it was made back when people didn’t know how to properly do VR without making people motion sick but it’s a full priced game that’s more expensive than most of the better VR games on the market that don’t make people motion sick they should put in a lot more effort in it’s the least they could do just saying.
The UI looks absolutely horrendous. Like unmodded Oblivion looks smoother and less frustrating to deal with.
Eh that can boil down to that we are only seeing out of 1 eye hole. Its really not bad in person.
I'll wait until rule 34 artist take that thumbnail to a whole nother level
I'll wait for it to be a Trap... U will see
Im On it already, although its a fanfiction on deviantart
You were right, it dose give you motion sickness
I had to watch this over the course of a few months. I can't imagine how horrid it must have been to actually play it.
Last time I was this early, the high king was alive!
He still is. AND HIS NAME IS ULFIRC STORMCLOAK.
@@finnsvenson7570 DOWN WITH ULFRIC
Ulfric died?
Jesus christ ulfric is not the high king
@@zeebeeplayz Sounds like imperial propaganda to me...
Technically you can get through the claw door without the claw since there's a button you can press to open it manually by glitching through the wall with collision (hold a wooden plate in front of you the run into the right wall closest to the claw door and spam activate you probably won't get it on the first try so reload to right before you tried to speed up time) and that's basically how to get past bleak falls Barrow without looting (you can also do something similar on the exits to dwemer ruins by doing the same method while running through the left side with the stairs right next to you)
You need to remember that it just works and you will be fine.
"the only vr games I've played that are this nauseating are skyrim and fallout 4"
*that's just the Bethesda curse*
No that’s just vr
@@randomguy2023 no, that’s Bethesda. I’ve played 1500 hours of VR content, and the only times I’ve felt motion sickness was in Dirt Rally for the first couple races, Assetto Corsa for the first couple races, and constantly in Skyrim VR. I still get motion sickness if I try to play Skyrim in VR.
Stop talking out your ass about shit you haven’t experienced
I always wanted to see an only Helgen run.
Can you do a fallout 4 only items in vault 111?
Senza did that
@@blazedannan8526 and...?
@@blazedannan8526 yea g00se has said in his discord that he dosnt care if its been before as long as he likes the idea
Can you upgrade the 10mm? If so thats like simple stealth plus 10 mm pistol is a deadly combo heck a pipe pistol can beat the hole game fairly easily
Items in vault 111? So one gun 3 stims and a pipe
"Captain Voice Acting"
Saturdays are just... so good
There is something absolutely hilarious to me that your main attack is you playfully flinging a warhammer back and forth like a toddler with a playskool building kit annoying his parents with his new toy hammer. 🤣
I don't think I could handle VR, I get motion sickness too easily but I congratulate you for doing this for us :) you're a good goose who deserves some nice frozen peas.
Jeez your growing fast! It feels like you went from 10k subs to 50k in a blink of an eye!
*you're
There is a way to disable the border shading when you move. If it's not in the options it's likely a mod.
It's an INI setting you can change, i believe.
EDIT: srry for necroing.
I like how it was more challenging because of the VR than it was just using the stuff from Helgen
Bruh did you not drink the nausea resist potion before playing? Clearly you don't know how to do this. /S
mans just ruined the joke by typing /s after it, in case anyone thought he was being serious about drinking a nausea resistance potion...
@@dominicg2456 I don't know the full extent of it but there are people who have something called neurodivergence and people use these indicators like /s so these type of people can know what kind of feelings are being told. Especially through texting with the limited way to express emotions like sarcasm. So I'm just making sure.
*Does kinda ruin the joke tho*
@@failedcatch5001 Eh. It's still helpful at least. Especially when things aren't this clear.
my grandpa fished all his life.. but only recently has he had to put a patch behind his ear the day before getting on the boat..
If he doesn't he feels awful after about 2 hours.
I don't know what it's called.. but it helps with motion sickness some how...
Can you beat Skyrim by only pickpocketing poison?
gonna answer that.. Nope... two dragur are required to kill, and they can't die by poisoning, also dragons can't be pickpocketed...
Still I'd like to see how far he could go in some areas like that. ^_^
Can you beat Skyrim with only a shiv?
Maybe in vr?
With out health potions?
The question is hardly ever 'can you?', but 'should you?'.
And without enchanting, of course.
Otherwise the answer will always be yes.
And with out the elemental fury shout because then it’s actually good

I thought you were about to start doing some kind of spongebob intro theme parody for a second there
Lol
Cicero love how listener accept chalange
this vr game is one of the few where i get motion sickness from playing longer then 30 minutes at a time
Yeah it helps with motion sickness, as in it gives you more motion sickness
15:41 you poor poor man....
I'm sorry.. I literally burst out laughing at that... ^_^
normally I don''t feel any different when playing VR or watching VR vids but this was a nice exception
the best part of this, the smacky smacky of the hammer
The dragons hit box for vr are best to attack them in their face and (Sometimes) Their tail. The way I usually do it is wait for them to land, cast steadfast ward and wait for the dragon to frost or fire breath me. I keep the ward up and then while they are still doing it, run up to their face because they cant do the bite attack while doing the frost/fire breath
Why not use teleport movement
If you ever decide to do another be run, there is an option to completely disable the edge darkening.
I have a headset and I want the index, thing is sick. Oh, and I feel bad the only thing I have is phantom sensations. You getting sick and everything is real bad dude, props for getting through it.
I never wait for the 1st dragon. The dragon appears as soon as approach the tower.

I really miss playing Skyrim. I wanna play it so bad! At least I have my new puppy to keep me company. I love her! :)
Also, I hear cold, fresh air helps with motion or car sickness, so turn on a fan or an a.c. and see if it does the trick!
I got nauseous just watching the part where your on the cart XD
Great as usually
first time I played vr, I almost wanted to puke as well. I feel you man :)
I don't have a VR set, but I've watched people play Phasmophobia in VR and that looks *awesome*. Much spook, very haunt.
Ooooh! Who lives in an iceberg out in the sea?
Skyrim VR was my first ever VR experience. I can't tell you just how many times I subconsciously tried to lean against the cart at the start of the game. The menu is absolute aids, but actually playing didn't feel too bad. I found that the sickness would go down if you walk in place while playing.
Just when I thought Skyrim couldn't get jankier from bugs, V.R enters the chat.
I have played skyrim vr for at least 500 hours and have NEVER gotten nauseous. And it was my first vr game.
i love the dialogue!
I would say yes, but it might make the challenge easier to stay at L1 since that challenge has already been proven. Because we know that if we level without changing to higher quality items, it will be an added challenge just to stay alive. Of course, you can stack the odds in your favor by making your EQs Legendary. If you're concerned about being 'flamed' by certain factions, you could keep a set from both sides and wear them in the specific situations.
Boom baby
Hi Brandon, I really recommend natural locomotion for skyrim VR, it's much less nausiating.
You smell that boiz? Another quality video :)
Great video but I had to watch it in a couple sessions, I see what you mean about the motion sickness
I play this on the PSVR, I thought I would get motion sickness to, since I have big issues with rollarcoasters and stuff and I was told its a similar effect sometimes, but I have never had issues with it, from Skyrim VR, Beatsaber, Ironman VR, or any of the demo games. I really like playing Skyrim VR with the Bow, as my good aiming makes me feel awesome. Ill go into Strongholds and just wreck the shit out of everybody before they can even get close because of speed, I feel like Neo in the Matrix.
Funnily enough I've been playing Skyrim recently too!
I haven’t gotten sick at all in this game. I’m usually pretty good at never getting motion sick, but smooth turning often does give me a headache, so I need to use snap turning
I don't get nauseous from VR so I actually loved playing Skyrim like this
Same
Btw in the first dragon fight you don't need to wait for the guards, just run up into the tower and they will tp near the tower and the fight starts, make it a bit faster for you in future
With only items from helgen
Why yes that was literally my first playthrough
EXACTLY!!! if anything that stupid circle makes the motion sickness a bajillion times worse.
If you want a decent Skyrim vr experience you need 2 Vidal mods highs and vrik. Higgs.
Weirdly I have arachnophobia but it only applies to spiders of a certain size. It may be training myself to play games like Skyrim but once a spider gets past a certain size it becomes less and less scary. There are exceptions. Some giant spiders still scare me but those are always ones specifically designed to look more disgusting and terrifying cronenberg monsters than just a large spider.
So I love your stuff, and appreciate your commitment, but you don't have to get yourself sick for us.
You should probably try to get some Skyrim VR mods to reduce the nausea, I have seen a lot of VR tubers mention a couple, some of them fixing the bad thigs Bethesda refuses to change, such as FOV, removing that becoming black of the edges that caused some nausea for you, fixing hitboxes for some stuff for VR, plus a lot of QoL upgrages that actually make the game different in VR compared to just Vanilla with the screen in your face
Uggggg I felt sick watching this
huh, i've never gotten motion sickness from a youtube video before. That's new I guess
I never get motion sickness but fuck watching this video killed me
If you ever do vr Skyrim again be sure to bop alduin on the nose
I played VR on a playstation and it had various adjustments included one that eliminated the black circle edges. For me, that wasn't any better. Moving by teleporting a few feet at a time was better though, but I didn't like that playstyle so I turned that off too. I fought the nausea by playing 1 hour at a time and taking anywhere from 4 hour break to a 24 hour break. After a couple of weeks my breaks became a little shorter and my gameplay time a little longer.
Also after about 10 minutes of standing, I sat the rest of the game. Standing meant I was probably just going to fall and hurt myself or something or both.
Wabbajack "VR Essentials" that should sort you out.
VR skyrim is REALLY fun as a mage
I'm only subbing to this channel because I'm an obsessive goose fan.
I live for G00SE's videos
So can you do your own kind of attacks in VR version or something or is it just like swing like normal in the game
And are there crit kills if so is it weird or not
If your getting motion sick try having a fan blowing at you, it helps alot
I don't remember the dark stuff to the sides when I was playing skyrim vr.
That whole sides of the screen darkening thing makes the nausea worse for me as well, but I do have a setting to turn it all the way off.
Just drank for the first time in months. Made it about a minute in before I had to stop. Getting sick.
Having finally watched this, I expected it to be easy, & for VR to not make such a difference. Sorry this run was so bad. Good luck with your next!
You dont have your vr legs yet play some games where you stand or sit in one place then try teleporting games then try some games with little movement then you can try games like skyrim, Fallout, and minecraft games like that with an open world type thing
So I’m curious can you throw misc items in VR and if so do they cause damage when they hit people?
Was the 9000 steps an idea of MDB? Because that was hilarious !
I find it funny how they limit your FoV to reduce simulation sickness. Feel like widening it would help relive you more.
Is it possible to block while dual wielding in VR if you just position your hands for block?
Personally, I would have gone with Ralof into the keep because you get better armor. When you go with Hadvar, you just get the regular light imperial armor or stormcloak cuirasses but if you go with ralof, you can get the stronger imperial armor
Ayyyee it finally uploaded
I have one question why do you not take the vart to ivarstead
Weirdly enough, i get absolutely next to no nausea from vr. but if i go on a boat, suddenly i get a bit sick after spending too long shaking about.
like, i don't do it often but i can use my windows mr headset for hrs (if it decides to work) but the moment i step into a vehicle, expecially boats, for more then 30mins to an hr, i get a bit queasy.
As a person that doesn’t get motion sick and has an oculus quest 2 this looks fun
You also swim to ivarstead? I do that every time due to the lack of challenges, and that the straight line makes it easy.
Do people get motion sickness from this alot? I didn't have a issue with that so I'm curious
And now i have a headache
