My dream car!!!! *.*
+Andre Jesus I really hope your dream comes true :-)
Same
same :c
yes, you can daily an ae86 but there are some stuff you need to consider. a lot of the corollas out there are either swapped or gutted. most of them there's no ac, no power steering and some have incomplete or no interior. there is little to no noise insulation so you hear most of the road noise, engine, etc. i daily mine for 5 years and its a love hate relationship. mine doesnt have all the stuff mentioned above but i still love driving it everyday specially if the car runs good. at times it will give you some problems considering the car is almost 30 years but when it runs right, its fun to drive.
Thank you! My goal here was to bring the AE86 to another dimension. With all the racing, drifting and cartoon culture, people forgot that, in it's time, this Corolla was actually a practical and sensible car, even if you had a small family. It's not a bespoke sports car, like an MR2, Porsche 924 or Miata :-)
+Daily Driver Reviews yeah, i meet people who owned their corollas since it came out the dealer and they always say the samething, they wont sell it.
When u buy an ae86 not having sound insulation is a must XD. If I had the chance to buy an ae86 Treuno with the 4A-GE I wouldn't care about it's faults, as long as it'll allow me to daily her, I'd be smiling everywhere and anywhere I go XD. All 128 hp screaming at 7k rpm, u'd have to drag me out of the car to get me out XD.
Thank you alot for the great review on the Ae86... I will soon b clearing my last 2 payments to buy the car from the 1st original owner of a trueno coupe which has done only 46000km on the clock.. can't wait to get my self driving it home.😊
It's heartwarming to read these stories from you guys :-) thank you for sharing!
My cat is sitting on my lap right now, and this video made me hungry.
I know right? Once you try Asian cuisine, there's no going back. Is that racist?
When you said, driving this car has made me so hungry, I thought to myself: sex makes me also hungry.. ohh the similarities :D
+HM3Tal It makes you want to eat a cat?
+Daily Driver Reviews Lets just not talk about that :D
+HM3Tal Oh I got ya!
For me, driving this car *IS* sex for me lmao.
ahahah the best, bro!!!:D always improving!!
+Try Ankle I am glad you notice the effort :-) your support is great!
Just put a 2.8 in my e36 compact and it drives the way I imagine these drive (and the ae86 is my dream car)
Deja Vu ;)
Loved your review, definitely put the 86 in a different light, and that's a good thing
Thank you for your comment! Great to have this feedback.
I had the 1986 in red, and I bought it new. It was my first new car that I bought after college.
I had one in black all the way back in 1990 when I was just 20 years old. I sold it a year later for approximately £3300. I bought it from garage in Bolton Lancashire, still remember the looks I used to get in this car back then.
my favourite video!!! :D great dude!!!
+Rubikpianoviolin Thank you! :-D
I'd willingly drive the Treuno ae86 as a daily, in summer and winter. No ABS, no power steering, no airbags, no power windows that's fine to me :D. As long as she drives well :), this is honestly my all time dream car!
at least you got aircon and a radio!
Discount Regular Car Reviews. Still it's fun, keep the good work
+deadmansfire It was a great influence. I'm not going to lie. Thank you so much!
"No power steering *of course*" is a bit wrong in the global market. Facelift models of GT-Apex trim had power steering by default. GT-V's were more sport oriented, therefore a lot of the fancy features were removed for weight reasons (power steering, power windows, automatic ventilation door in the Levin front...).
new subscriber here man! great stuff!
oh, btw, cud you make any comparison between 1.6 corolla twincam not the gti, and an 87ish 1.3 starlet and the grand civic hatchback and lancer danGan ? idk bout the naming for US or European market, those name i use is the naming for southeast asia market. Wud be great if you cud make those comparison kind o video 😂
Thank you for your comment! The logistics for a comparison video are a bit complicated. I will keep that in mind, since those are some of my all time favorite cars :-)
Daily Driver Reviews glad to hear that bahaha, any video bout those cars wud be nice man.
oh, that cat. how's it tastes? 😂😂
It's scary at first. Then you get on your knees and pay your damn respects to it, especially in this like new condition.
Daily Driver Reviews 😂😂
About the engine sound. Which one do you think sound better? the AE86 or AE92. they got the same engine but different generation.
Thanks for the comment. AE86 sounds better. Less sound insulation so the engine noise is more present.
Eurobeat intensifies... :P há alguém na zona de Águeda que tem um trueno azul lindíssimo, creio que também todo original.
Obrigado pelo comentário! Por sinal a banda sonora devia ter sido eurobeat ahaha
What is the Econ and power light for on the gauge cluster?
I mean... It sounds pretty logical isn't it? Econ means you're doing economic driving, power is more "you're using too much fuel"
Great car...I have two of them...but try pushing it next time to show these kids that these things have plenty of go in them...
My dad has two black and a silver
just asking. this is the SOHC version or DOHC version? hmm, i think its the DOHC version cuz its use "GT" on its name. also you said its have four disc brakes
It's a twin cam, aka DOHC. If it was SOHC then it would be a single cam.
Hey man you drove this which is the bluetop and you drove the redtop engine in the ae92. did you feel any difference with the two engines?
someone you use to know Like I said with the ae92, that one is a better car. More refined, less rumble and smoother
Thats my dream car... But i wont be able to get one for atleast 10 years :(
I like the zenki coupe a bit better that's my dream car
that cat dinner deserves a like
Thank you! I still have some leftover in the freezer, do you want me to express mail it to you?
Does it have an airbag and if not can you put one in?
no and no
@@lordvader3538 holy shit that was 2 years ago i was so fucking stupid
@@lordvader3538 i literally have an ae86 now too
@@atninjathrash Nice dude! Got any plans with it?
@@lordvader3538 its a non running sr5 with a 4age so the first thing is to get it running, then try and find a gts rear end or something similar and start drifting it
Isn't a real ae86 with a left hand drive a very rare thing?
PCdude4ever a left hand drive is an ae88
No, there are (at least) USDM, EUDM and Middle East Domestic Market version available which all are LHD. And no, they are not AE88's as EUDM didn't require ridiculous emission standards like the USDM. Also there are differences in the European versions, too, as for example Switzerland got 3 doors, while Germany did not get them.
Even then, don't confuse VIN's with Chassis codes. Older cars may not even have VIN's as countries have different laws regarding them. Mine has no VIN number, but it has a Chassis code. The AE88 derives from the stricter emission laws in the US. With a federal standard in America, the states are allowed to have their own standards. And of the states, the Californian standard (due to LA's automotive density) has the strictest laws regarding emissions. Toyota made the USDM with the Californian standard in mind. Due to the post-treatment of exhaust gases, the USDM AE86 produces less power. For some reason, Toyota decided to give the VIN numbers (required in the US, were not required in Japan back then) the designation AE88, while the Chassis code beneath the VIN still shows AE86. Ever since, JDM fanboys use this to justify their obsessions for imported vehicles from Japan, as they have the misconception that everything from Japan is superior to the local markets.
DatOneTechKid no, that's not true at all.
the waffle man yeah Ik just I feel like since I live in America I use the VIN number instead of the 6th generation code
Can you buy one of these cars in North America/canada/America/Mexico?
"sports car"
ok
oh! and cat for dinner? tasty? xD so funny!!!
+Rubikpianoviolin next time I will show to to make cat fondue...
Irish lads dream that car there
0:42-0:59 OOF
Bro my dumb ass thought this was gta
also known as toyota avante
nandu... from deadpool
this should be a small family car not a sports car
It is a small family car, the AE86 was supposed to be a practical car that was fun to drive from the beginning.
It’s a left hand drive, meaning it’s an ae88
No, it’s AE86.
AE86 = LHD or RHD, coupe or hatch, Levin or Trueno (Both body styles and models are named as Corolla GT in Europe) with 4A-GE 16 valve 1.6 dohc
Excluding North American AE86 SR5 model which has 4A-C 1.6 8 valve sohc engine.
AE88 is the North American version GT-S with different bumpers and extra lights for American traffic, mph gauge cluster etc, etc. They have the pop up headlights so basically they are Truenos named as Corollas too. They also have the 4A-GE.
