  • Some people have a hard time believing the promises made by Jesus because they were spoken about 2,000 years ago. But it’s important to remember that the birth of Christ itself fulfilled a promise made by God two millennia earlier. In this message, R.C. Sproul introduces us to a man named Abraham and to the covenant God made with him, showing that the Lord always keeps His promises and is never late in fulfilling them.
    This message is from Dr. Sproul’s 57-part teaching series overview of the Bible: Dust to Glory. Learn more: www.ligonier.org/learn/series...

    We are given the same faith to believe in the promise, namely, JESUS, the Son of God, as we read that Abraham had. Time and space, both creations of God, are not obstacles in His way of keeping it for all believers in the past, present, and future.

    God is faithful and remembers His promises!!! This was such a good message. May we remember that just as Mary looked back on the promises God gave to Abraham we can know God continues to be faithful and will come again! May we be ready!!

    Abraham covenant & land restoration

      No, it's not about land restoration. It's about eternal life only. The land was taken away in 70 AD when Rome destroyed Jerusalem & the temple and the unbelievers were killed, sold into slavery or absorbed into other nations. The modern day Israel is a counterfeit.

    Covenantal theology has changed everything for me. Dispensationalism is truly tragic. Even mcarthur said he was a leaky dispensationalist because of you stick to pure dispensationalism it makes the Bible contradict itself so if you follow the Bible you cannot follow that theology.

    Just a thought. We always hear Sarah laughed, but if you recall before Sarah heard it in Genesis 17:17, Abraham laughed first. It's one of those things like Eve sinned, but it's not taught by mainstream Christianity, Adam was right there.

    • @jasonmoncusgundinamo1811
      @jasonmoncusgundinamo1811 Před rokem

      Christianity teaches Adam sinned and it is on his head and by his seed we are all cursed and in fact says the seed of the woman that made Jesus is free of this original sin. She laughed because it was absurd so she laughed rightfully. How would she know Gods power if they were first unbelievers. Stay away from gender politics. It’s screws the point of everything. Don’t forget partiality is a sin.

      We always hear that Sarah laughed because she didn't believe God could actually make her a mother at her age. Abraham laughed out of joy after God said that He was going to give Abraham a son by her in spite of her age. They laughed for completely different reasons. She doubted God. Abraham didn't.

      New International Version
      13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

    • @robmarshall956

      Eve was deceived by one of the animals that God had made, OVER whom she was meant to be in dominion, refer to Gen 1:26:28.
      This was why she "became a sinner"-not because she was silly or gullible enough to be fooled, but Because SHE WAS DECEIVED into overturning the good order that God had created. Instead of ruling the snake under God, she listened to and Obeyed the snake, attempted to become like God and then lead her husband to do the same.
      Adam is clearly not described as being deceived: RATHER, his sin is that he "listened to the voice of his wife and ate of the tree" 3:17.
