@SilentSeeker It is tho, most of the People I know prefer you to take off your shoes. But usually, you just ask or do it to be polite.

When I was a kid this was the general store. The joining building called general store was a blacksmith shop. Across the road was my grandfather's blacksmith shop. It's gone now. The two-story house there was the Schwausch family home. My mother was the youngest of nine children. There were more buildings then. There was a garage for repairing cars, a dress shop, a smokehouse, chicken coop, and the cattle Barn which was still standing the last time I was there. There were two wells, and several beehives. I traveled there a couple of times during world war II on a steam train with my mother. I remember riding on a plow horse, seeing a chicken run a short distance without a head, and what happens to you if you pull a cork out of the top of a beehive!
Don't forget Walburg State Bank. I had an account there in the late 70s. No service charge as long as I maintained at least a $25 balance.

The only problem I have with TCR is they seem to have forgotten any part of the state above Lubbock. The Texas panhandle is still in Texas, at least that's what it says on my birth certificate! More from the 26 counties in the Texas panhandle!!
Started going here not long after he opened in the '80s. The food is out of this world in the entertainment is so much fun. Haven't been there in many many years I am aching to get back.

Wiener Schnitzel... traditional german cuisine... Wien means Vienna, Austria's capital. Of course you can buy that in Germany, but I think it's traditional Austrian food.

@@bjornkliem2736 Well, I don't know if Wikipedia can be taken seriously, but there was only one mention about Germany. When someone from south Germany made a cookbook which had this food also listed.
Other than that, it's probably from the moors in Andalusia, and then taken by the Italians, and from there it arrived in Austria. It's traditionally an austrian national cuisine.
Mit Wiener Schnitzel ist auch wirklich das aus Österreich gemeint, und ist mit Kalbfleisch zubereitet.
In Deutschland ist aber das Schnitzel nach "Wiener Art" defakto zum Standart und auch zur Grundlage aller anderen Schnitzel Variationen geworden, allerdings ist in Deutschland eben das "Wiener Art" aus Schweinefleisch statt Kalb.
Also man kann schon sagen dass das Wiener Schnitzel auch ein bischen deutsche Tradition ist. 😉

But people should get the difference, these meals are typical bavarian, not typical german. There is nothing you can call typical german food or culture.
Also they are dumbed down for the US. You wouldn't eat red cabbage with a "Schnitzel", but with mashed potatoes, sausages or other dishes

Americans’ idea of Germany is unfortunately mostly based on Bavaria. However, Bavaria is not really a part of Germany. Their dialect is unintelligible to most Germans, and Bavarian food and music is mostly considered bah yuck by normal Germans.
