One of the proudest days of my life was when I received my Texas drivers license at 53. I was a Yankee transplant from the north. I loved working and living in the great state of Texas. It felt like coming home. When the grandchildren started coming along, it was time to move back. Your show not only helps me remember all the places I got to travel to there, but the spirit of the people through your stories of each one. It is a gift you have given all of us viewers. Hi Bob and Kelli, I started watching Texas Country Report when it was only Bob back in the early 90s after retiring from the Marine Corps and moving to Texas to start a new life and job. I’ve moved several time since the 90s, but moved back here last year after full retirement. I want to wish the both of you a very happy retirement and may the good Lord always look over the both of you!

No WAY!!! I am beyond saddened. This style of reporting is dying and being replaced by utter garbage. I will miss you beyond belief. 30 years ago, I was 15. I worked for Dr. John Vardiman in Beaumont. I worked two summers for him maintaining his property and assisting him every chance I got on his boat. I left Docs' and went on to pursue more adult line of work and start my career in the steel construction industry. 30 years later discussing this project of my youth in my office I did a search of Docs' boat, and my heart nearly stopped. I found what I had stored hidden deep in the memories of my soul and finally discovered as to what ever become of the magnificent piece of woodwork being carefully crafted in that barn. Thank God for you two, and CZcams. I got a chance to see what I had missed since I left home 25 years later. It brough back a lot of memories and shed light to my family as to where their father had learned so many things from his past. With out you two, it would all have been just words of memory. Thank you for so many years.

I remember the Hobbit Hole. The Thoren Oakenshield was a fantastic, tasty, satisfying vegetarian sandwich! Mushrooms, mayo, alfalfa sprouts and avocado on two hearty thicks slices of homemade whole wheat bread. No meat needed and I am a meat lover! If they still make that homemade wheat, I will return after 40 years

I still am watching videos I didn't see due to all this modern technology when they went from the old antenna to the new nightmares for this Old Schooler. Y'all got it down pat, and now Y'all are off to a new adventure in your lives. I wish Y'all the best, but PLEASE always keep the door open when Y'all get bored. That way, Y'all can get back on the roads and become Roadrunners again. Thank Y'all Bob and Kelli, for many jobs well done. Keep in touch with everyone so we know Y'all are doing okay. I'm 53 years, lived almost my entire life in Texas. I've been watching TCR since 1980. In those days, in west Texas, we only had access to three television channels and every Saturday my parents, brothers and sisters would gather around the TV to watch a TCR episode. I love the stories, people, and the places that Bob and Kelli have been bringing bringing to us all these years. Thank you Bob and Kelli and Congrats to your retirement! Does anyone own one of their original traveling vehicles?

I watched y'all from a kid with my papa and now I live in Missouri and I can't believe your leaving. I am 31 now and watch it with my kiddo.

Been watching since the 4 Country Reporter days. Played softball against you guys when I worked at KISS-FM back in the mid-80s. Watched with my folks whenever possible, and then just with my mom after Dad passed away. For the last 3 years, I've been watching without either after I lost Mom also. I moved out of Texas almost 25 years ago. It's not the same place anymore, but your show reminded me that at least parts of it are. Your storytelling is amazing, and I'm so thankful you allowed us to ride along with you for 52 years. Thanks Bob, Kelli, and the entire TCR crew!

As they say, I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could. Ok maybe not "as fast" since I was 29 back in 1996.....but I got here. I'd been a fan of a similar show in California that Huell Howser did. Of course Texas is much bigger than California for traveling....so for sure it took over 50+ years to decide to let someone else take the reins. 27 years of watching....and I'll keep doing that. J.B....you got some BIG boots to fill here so please do NOT screw this up. Guess we'll find out this September. Enjoy the retirement! I hope to be there within the next 10 years myself.

I am not much of a TV person. But I can tell you that as a 50 year old, 6th generation Texan, who grew up in a tiny town, I would intently watch TCR when it was on TV. If I happened to be scrolling through the channels and came across this show, I would never change the channel. I was ALWAYS wanting more. I think my love for my job, which entails traveling all over Texas was because of Bob's shows and the special places he went. I felt like I was right there with him. His voice, his charisma, his love for this state, and what was depicted on this show is so special and will be missed. Good luck on the next chapter, and you and Kelli are a blessing from God. Ive said that Bob/Kelli inspired not only us who travel, but a couple of generation to record their adventures. Without TCR, there would be no Daytripper. We'll miss you two!!

We live in Wyoming. But, we used to live in Texas. These shows keep us connected to Texas and the memories of our time there. Well deserved retirement! Go enjoy it!

Born and raised in Texas, we have also lived in Oklahoma (I know,..very un-Texan of us!) and Kentucky and this show always kept us linked to "home."
