    Actually the Harker EDC has the most interior space of any wedge camper on the market today and the Lone Peak is a distant second. Both look like great choices.

    • @ewong7492
      @ewong7492 Před 11 měsíci +1

      Sure, but the setup takes a while. You have to zip in the walls, snap down the sides, and stake out the tethers.

    • @twotwentyswift
      @twotwentyswift Před 11 měsíci

      @@ewong7492 Yeah it probably takes from 60 to 80 seconds to set everything up including the table. The tailgate annex can stay attached and the tethers can be clipped to your frame with a carabiner clip. I guess if 30% more space and a table is worth the extra few seconds you go for it, if not you don't. Of course if you're my age not having to squat down to get in is a plus as well. It's great to see the competition ramp up. That spurs innovation and brings prices down for us consumers. 😃Hopefully Lone Peak delivers one to a customer fairly soon so we can see what the end product actually is and what bugs need to be worked out. Cheers.

    • @Non-Serviam300
      @Non-Serviam300 Před 8 měsíci

      If I’m not mistaken the Harker has to leave the tailgate open to create that extra space, making it less secure.

    • @twotwentyswift
      @twotwentyswift Před 8 měsíci

      Both have a tent so any illusion of security is just that. If you're worried about security you'd better buy a hard-sided camper and have it heavily reinforced because no roof top tent or wedge camper will give you that. I've camped in tents all my life, and I don't have any concerns. If I did I'd always stay at my cabin.@@Non-Serviam300

    rear overhang and pass through space just made this my no1 option above GFC! it would be cool to mount things that might leak fumes (propane, diesel, rotopax..etc) and the muddy stuff (recovery shovel, axe, maxtrax, jacks..etc) on the outer extrudes. biggest gripe right now with my current fav, GFC, is that they don't recommend mounting items with "dynamic load" as they say on the outside extrusion tracks. so propane, rotopax or, shower tanks are no go as they have liquids sloshing around inside.
    also are the extrusions accessible from the inside? you know for hanging stuff from within the topper or tent.
    hope you guys have ford super duties in your plans ;) this on the new gen tremor would be epic!

    Love the reveal!! A few questions - for shorter bed vehicles (5ft short bed Tacoma), is the pass through feature still available? I imagine the sleeping platform would just extend further over the cab of the truck, correct? Also, approximately how far above the roof does the top of the camper sit? Lastly, can you elaborate on the framing construction of the camper? Is it able to withstand abuse from heavy off-roading (vibrations, hard impacts, etc.) without compromising the integrity of the frame? I'm absolutely intrigued; its going to give my GFC a run for its money with all the awesome features!

    • @lonepeakoverland9213
      @lonepeakoverland9213  Před rokem +1

      Yes, we’ll have a pass through window available still and yes, the platform would overhang a little more on the 5’. The top of the camper will be about 10” off the top (8” tall with 1.5” gap for bed flex). The frame is extrusions bolted together. The vertical uprights are about 7” wide which provide a ton of stability. We just off-roared the hell out of this thing last night and it’s doing great :)

If so how long will these prices stay low enough? 4) IS shipping going to cost more then Camper? :) 5) Do you plan on an easy access point on roof so clients can easily add solar panels to the roof racks? 6)I know you mentioned some plumbing being available for external set up Diesel heaters, what would that look like? I had to move the bed platform 4” away from the pivot for clearance for my feet which reduces the pass through space to 32” but it’s a good adjustment and will fit 6’3” guys and can be moved further away if you’re taller.

      2 comfortably in the bed. We have a lot of customers designing simple beds to sleep kids or pets comfortably below in the truck bed itself.

    Hey Kyle, will there be any options/customizations to outfit these campers for a Ford Maverick?

    • @lonepeakoverland9213
      @lonepeakoverland9213  Před rokem +1

      We hope so. Maverick and 8' bed support will hopefully come out late next year. We have testing to do on both first though.

      Someone asked the same thing in Salt Lake today. We’re going to look into making another panel with a small mattress that could fill in the pass through space if you want.

      Correct. Materials, time and man power required the change. If you ordered before the switch you still have these windows as a standard option!
