That's why I love the metal community, we don't give a damn what you are, just come on in and enjoy the tunes.
Kesyabasturd WELL. FUCKING. SAID.
truth
Chad Kroeger hough
Kesyabasturd Heck yeah!!!!!!!!!!
Kesyabasturd and in hip hop however...
What nice guys! BC are such an underrated band..
i agree with graham.. ernie c is one of the most under rated guitar players out there.
i used to be vince's bass tech and roadie back in the 80's and 90's.he is one of the best friends i've ever had... much love homie... keeping it real as always!!!
Whoa! That's freaking badass man! he seems like a really cool dude! Rock on man
Metalheads don't give a shit about color, its the quality of your content!!
Mike Patten Jr Yes.
You damn right dawg.
Tell that to Anselmo.
How come James Hetfield didn't want them on his stage????
metal knows no race. were all unified with the music we love. body count rulez! \m/
Holy fuck. I never expected that level of humility. Impressive.
Bloodlust has easily been one of my favorite albums this year.
Hell yea, me and my brother and good friends are all BC fans, saw them in Athens Greece in 97 and still feel the night. Rappers, punks and metallers all in the pit ... Good days
Yo I dated Ernie c's daughter, Leigh Ann. He was a cool dude. Got to play his guitars and talk with him a lot.
LeCarey Mitchell LUCKY YOU
I don't even have any female friends, you sir are ahead! (I'm not even being sarcastic 😩)
Socially Absurd you must ha e some deep seeded problems bro. What is it you're projecting onto me? I make a statement about how this dude is cool and how I know and you come at me with some crooked negative shit.
Socially Absurd are you a little kid?
LeCarey Mitchell
What did he say that was negative or crooked? He was just being honest.
I'm Afro-Brazilian and Japanese, and a lot of people where I'm from don't really expect a kid that's black and Asian to be into metal, more specifically melodic genres like neoclassical metal, symphonic power metal. It's really amazing seeing bands like this and Living Color making prominence. It gives me hope that my music can make it as far as theirs and everyone can enjoy, regardless of race. Much respect to these guys!
ChidoriSnake nigga that Naruto wrap doesn't make you Asian...
That's a very diverse genetic background! Do you have to say that everytime someone asks where you're from?
No, but the Japanese DNA on my father's side of the family dating all the way back to the 17th century does. I just enjoy cosplaying.
Not every time, but if people ask about ethnicity, this usually comes up in conversation. It's actually interesting seeing other people's reactions to it also.
Shout out from south brazil.
Bloodlust is def one of my fav records of 2017
Heavy metal welcomes all. I feel like there should be more black rock bands.
Also, Ernie C is a kickass lead guitarist.
I hope they can tour again.
Been listening to there amazing music since there first album
The most relevant heavy metal band of 2017/18 right there.
In my humble opinion Body Count have never made a bad album. Every single release has been consistent and in no way lacking. Maybe i am of the minority but they have never done wrong in my opinion. Excellent!
Saw them last month and they were amazing, definitely one the best gigs I’ve been to in ages!
Ernie C is such a cool guy!
lol Vincent's always making scary faces in the videos and in real life he's so gentle
I was just thinking that same sorta thing! He looks like a big, mean, scarry ass dude in the videos... But here he talks very gently and kindly... ( But as I know all to well, the nicest, softest spoken mofos usually ARE the actual badasses)
This guys are so COOL!
Ah I still remember their top selling song cop killer
Psychotic Antëater Damn, there goes the neighbourhood.
Psychotic Antëater great song
Ernie C is my guitar hero now! \m/
Did anyone else see these guys at Brixton academy in London 1993 with carcass in support .♥️🤘
Man I've always liked body count they have always been accepted in the hardcore and metal community
Awesome interview!
fantastic new album! Those guys should start to play Civil War live, the best track on the new record
One of the most powerful rap and metal fusion group in my opinion
I fucking love them
Ice T has that tough look about him, but just as Ernie and Vincent, he's a really nice guy, and if it comes to his social status, he's a down to earth person like everyone else, I really like them and the band as a hole is a very welcome addition to my metal bands favorites.
Vincent has got an epic surname 🤘🏻
Bod y Count is the first true Afro American heavy metal band.. love them
Ernie C is a beast on the guitar
True talent will always find a way.
Ernie C, prophet
God I love Ernie C, he's manic or something, but the dude is so positive and seems to be loving what he's doing and is a great Guitarist.
The whole band is great and I've honestly never had a better outlet for the fucking rage I feel, I might have honestly ruined peoples days if it weren't for their music.
Saw bodycount in Melbourne, fucking awesome!
Love these guys ✊
Blood lust is a great record.Thats why i bought it on vinyl.
I'm Black I love Heavy Metal loud wire
Body Count started same time as the Blues and Reggae 1 third century BCE
Cop K album has so many songs with that hook in them. They just rock.
Yes!! I agree
You should enjoy music but not who sings it.
Everyone in BC can play their instruments and well. I think that first album is one of the best mixed records ever.
And supultura has a Brazilian singer
Would luv to hear a live heavier version of The Girl Tried to Kill Me
Bodycount, i have always been down with you guys..Remember cop killer? New metal heads dont know how long you been with the business.
LOVE Ernie C's "EVH" shirt. Body Count's In The Houuuuuuuuuse!
If the rap game accepts white rappers then the metal community should accept black artists..
Rock is just not as big and getting the main stage in award shows anymore.
Beneath surface level rap, there is a great deal of racism and jealousy towards any white man that succeeds in that genre. Just because a guy like Eminem is a mainstream success doesn't mean there isn't a ton of resentment from piles of absolute garbage like Benzino. Just like metal has the NSBM retards, there are dipshits like Dead Prez and Ras Kass who have some pretty dumb opinions on race.
Rock not as big as Rap?!? What planet are you from???? LMAO
Mike Patten Jr rock isn't as big as rap at this point. I don't even listen to much rap and I know that. You are the one who sounds out of touch.
ploob man Exactly! Rock and metal has become the forgotten bastard child of the mainstream music industry.
0:54 That's sad. And he's so excited as he says that. This band is here to STAY. Fucking loved Manslaughter and Carnivore is even better
They're a solid black metal band
Body Count fucking slays!!!!
True talent and excellent artists!
vioIent demise is my favourite after the debut - great songs and production but some fun too.
been a fan since 06 theyve always made good tunes
One of my favorite bands
wow i can see why ice started body count for ernie. hes just the nicest guy
BC have always been respected because of music, not color
I can see the Corey Taylor meme coming from a mile away so I'll just throw it here: I've actually got to know Body Count thanks to Corey's "A series of bleeps" show on Beats 1. And I LOVE them.
Definitely gonna check them out.
i love ernie...what a legened
I thought 'Manslaughter' was the best shit they put out man. So many good tracks on that, plus ICE-T reminding us he was the one that came up with '99 problems' and that suicidal tendancies tribute man....I can't go past that. Bloodlust has grown on me though
At first i thought that but listening to Bloodlust now it's so damn good
Nice guys, nice band.
These men are bad ass! Killer musicians!
Ernie C is amazing. And Bloodlust is easily their best album. Not only is it their best written album, by Ice-T's "Singing" ability is the best it's ever been.
Most people only recognize bands like Body Count, Sevendust, and Fire From The Gods for having a black frontman or other black members but they're all so awesome. It doesn't matter what your skin color is to enjoy what you want or play in music
Sound
This album is amazing
ON WITH THE BODY COUNT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Them niggas are too hardcore, they took my mothafuckin girl there goes the neighborhood!”
Finally ? These mother fuckers kick ass day 1.
Ernie rockin the EVH shirt
Cool.
Phuuuucking hard-core. ❤
I hate that people think Body Count and Living Colour were viewed as novelty acts back in the day. Trust me, none of us white boys viewed them that way....we just thought their music was fuckin dope.
6:37 Ernie C is right on here - rock music in the early 90's was far better and more exciting than it is now.
Do you know how much sugar is in that kool aid?
fleshlight that cries do you know how much blood is in the human body.such an awesome tune.kills me everytime I hear it.
best cover ever
Demonio only if they figure out a way to fire it out of a gun.
you need therapy
fleshlight that cries awesome band.end of.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
BC are hugely underrated and under appreciated.
But what does Corey Taylor think
U cant stop the bum rush 💪💪💪💪
Body count has killer from the get go. When I first heard of them I was like "huh that's cool, Ice-T is into metal" Then I heard them and I never stopped listening.
Wonder what Bodycount song Corey Taylor likes
you Guys ROOOOOOOCK!
Can’t wait til #LouderThanLife
ey these guys are cool man!!
That Edward Van Halen shirt tho.
Been rockin with BC from the start, white guy from Canada, color don't mean shit when it comes to great music
Is it just me or does Vincent price resemble one of the guys from Run-DMC? I forget what his name is.
Josh Byrns had to look it up because I didn't know the names either but I wanted to give you an answer. I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Darryl (DMC) McDaniels.
That's him! Doesn't he though? I mean the way Darryl looks now without the stupid ass looking black rimmed glasses he used to wear in the 80s.
Josh Byrns 100% agree that he does look like him. It was the 80's, fashion was weird.
DMC. Lol. Yes
A lot of people that love Body Count say they hate Nu Metal. Ever been to MetalSucks?
what kind of t-shirt is the bassist wearing?
Fuckin’ LEGENDS
Ernie you dope love bc
Hella nice dudes
Black listen to metal? Black play metal? Oh!
But these guys do it well!
New Wave Black Metal
oh man.....title is way off. Remember 20 ish years back when i first heard hardXcore, SICKOFFITALL specifically. Second was BODY COUNT.....definetly no need for recogition. PMA . HC till i die
The best fusion of rap and Metal since rage against the machine
Tried listening but wasn't a fan of Body Count in the 90s. My guys came back rocking it hard in the 10s though with solid riffs, a killer rhythm section, and fantastic production - all without sacrificing a drop of that anti-racism content the world so desperately needs. My only fear now is that y'all will hang it up before another band/some-other bands pick up the torch and I won't have anyone to point my son to when he asks "Where is the 'black' in metal , Dad?"
I met Vince in 2014 on the Mayhem fest. He was actually at the merch booth. I damn near lost my shit, to think a member of the band, who's been with the group for almost 15 years, is actually working the merch booth, blew my mind. Body Count, Ice-T included are true fans. They make music FOR the fans, and their last two albums "Manslaughter" and "Bloodlust" have been two of the most important metal album of the last decade. Why? Because their first album made waves, their second album "Born Dead" was good, but not great, "Violent Demise" had the sound better, then they lost 3 out of 5 of their original members. "Murder 4 Hire" was a bad album, but then, they picked up the pieces and made two masterpieces this decade....
I did as well, I liked it so much, I bought on iTunes as well bought a physical version of the album. I did the same for "Bloodlust". They've (Ice-T and Ernie C, at this point) finally GOT IT!!! I saw them on Mayhem fest 2014. I was the only person wearing a BC T shirt when I walked in, then after they left the stage RIGHT before Cannibal Corpse, I saw 100 other people wearing BC T's. They've finally got what's coming to them, not just because of some controversy, but they've actually got a "REAL" fanbase now. And they deserve it... "Violent Demise: Last Days" had GREAT production value, but that was in 1997 and the whole "Cop Killer" thing was still looming. I've loved Body Count since I first heard "Born Dead", this band wasn't just a one trick pony, granted, the production still sucked. It took another 3 years for that to see the light of day... "Violent Demise". The first of many GREAT BC albums.
Totally agree with ya.
IKR! This is one band that I love at least 60% of every single moment of every song! I've actually never have been to be the one to buy a record.
You should.. Hold it in your hands.. There's something about buying an a physical copy of an album.. The insert, the lyrics, the artwork on the CD.... And if you want to delve into vinyl, that's a WHOLE OTHER THING!!!!!
Damn 25 years?? Should of named your band Twin Peaks
If there can be white rappers, there can definitely be black rockers 🤘🤘🤘
blacks created both genres!
